Dressing Up or Dressing Down? (One Direction/Lou Teasdale)

Melody is just an ordinary girl, or so she hopes. Her dream is to become a stylist, but after a traumatic experience it was locked in her inner closet. What will happen when she moves to London to be mentored by the famous Lou Teasdale, her idol? What will become of her when she meets the five lads everyone wants to meet? No one knows, except Fate.

11. I'm The Elephant!

This duvet is much warmer than yesterday, I thought to myself. Wait, these are arms around me! My eyes shot open. I turned my head slightly, but all I could see was the mop of curly hair. He was still asleep. His chest rose and fell in a steady pace. I was still tired, so I did the thing I always do. I closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

When I woke up about 3 hours later, I was lying on top of his chest and he still had an arm around me. I looked up at his face. Damn boy was awake. He was staring at me. His eyes in this light was just amazing. No words can describe it.

“Good morning, sleepyhead” he chuckled.

“Good morning.” I got up and went to my closet. I just stood there. “Why so many clothes?” I asked to myself, completely forgetting that Harry was still in my bed.

“Uhm, maybe because you’re a girl.” He said still chuckling. Ignoring him, I pulled out a random outfit and went out to the bathroom.

“Need some company in there?” he asked from my room. What the hell was he thinking?

“No!” I shouted back at him. I could here him laughing. I hopped into the shower and started washing my hair. When it came to brushing it became extremely difficult. Today was one of those days where it was tangled to the point of no return. I needed help and the only person that was here was Harry. Why couldn’t it be Lou?

“Harry!” I yelled.

“Changed your mind?” he was outside that door way too quickly.

“No, I need your help.” I said turning off the water and wrapping a towel neatly around myself, making sure everything was covered. I opened the door and his jaw almost dropped.

“With what?” he asked coming in and just stood there.

“My hair. Damn curls are making it difficult.” I said pointing to my hair that was already forming curls.

“Hey, don’t insult the curls!” he said and I just rolled my eyes. “Fine, hand me the brush.” I did and sat on my knees as he took a seat on the side of the tub. “You’re hair is extremely long. Have you ever thought of cutting it?”

“I’ve only done the ends ever since my parents died.” And I wasn’t planning on making a drastic change to it.

“Oh.” Was all he said. I closed my eyes. I actually enjoy it when someone brushes my hair or even plays with it. I know it sounds weird. “Done.” He said sounding victorious.

“Thanks.” I sighed and got up off the floor. He was still sitting there, looking at me. “Uhm, you may go now.”

“Nah, I like it here.” he said with a grin.

“Fine. If you won’t leave, just sit over there.” I said pointing to the counter. He wasn’t seeing me naked, not again anyways. He got up and moved to his new seat. I got back in the shower, closed the curtain and pulled the towel off and chucked it to the floor. I washed the conditioner out of my hair which has become a weekly ritual. I was finished almost 5 minutes later. I picked the strategically placed towel and rewrapped myself tightly. He was still there. I grabbed my clothes and ran to my room, locking the door behind me. I was dressed and downstairs in 10 minutes. I smell food. I walked into the living room to find 4 boys sitting around the tv.

“Hi guys.” I said

“Hey Melody.” They chorused.

“What are you watching?” I asked sitting down next to Liam.

“I have no idea.” He said as two animals mating came on the screen.

“Uhm…” I was not sure how to respond to that. “I’m going to leave.” And I did. I went into the kitchen and found Harry cooking.

“What’s cooking?”

“Good-looking?” he asked as he raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t flatter yourself.” I said rolling my eyes and jumping onto the counter.

“You know, they say if you sit on tables and counters you won’t ever get a husband.” He said eyeing me.

“So that’s why I’ve never had a boyfriend! I always thought its because I was too busy studying or something.” I said looking at the ceiling.

“Wait, never had a boyfriend?” he asked.

“Yup.” I said popping the ‘p’.

“So, does that mean I was your first kiss?” he asked again, but this time he was cocky. I wanted to smack myself. I said too much again.

“Maybe…” I said trailing off, remembering that moment when our lips met for the first time.

“Why are you blushing?” he asked, chuckling at me.

“Ugh.” I groaned and put my head in my hands.

“Don’t hide. You’re cute when you blush.” That just made me blush more.

“Nuh-uh. I’m the elephant!” I heard Louis yell from the living room.

“So not!” that was Zayn.

“What’s going on in there?” Harry asked me.

“They were watching some documentary about mating season for animals and then I got up and left.” I said looking back at the ceiling.

“Louis, you are so not the elephant! I am!” he said breaking out into a laughing fit.

“Shut up Harry!” they all echoed from the living room.

“What are you talking about?” I asked confused. He wiggled his eyebrows in response and I blushed again, my eyes wide. “Oh my god. How will I ever be able to keep my innocence around 5 boys?”

“Oh, I don’t think your that innocent.” He was still laughing at me.

“I’ll be back in 10 minutes.” I said getting up from the counter.

“Where are you going?” he asked confused.

“To Lou’s house. I need to ask her something.” I said as I walked out of the door. The rest of the boys were now wrestling on the floor as I walked out my front door. It was a peaceful morning. The garden seemed vibrant, refreshed even somehow.

“Hey I was just coming to see you.” I heard Lou in front of me.

“Yeah, me too.”

“So, what was on your mind?” she asked pulling me to a bench.

“My cousin phoned last night. She wants me to visit them for my birthday and I was wondering if I could leave when the shoot is finished?” I asked.

“That’s exactly what I wanted to talk to you about. The shoot has been moved up. Its tomorrow. So you can go for as long as you want. We started almost three weeks early anyway.” She said excited.

“That’s great! Uhm, but then we need to get the boys out of my house.” I said.

“What are they doing there?” she asked.

“Well, you see, Harry spent the night and when I came downstairs this morning they were all there.” I sighed.

“Did you use protection?” she said pointing a finger at me.

“Lou! Gross! We didn’t do anything. He did kiss me again and I woke up with his arms around me, but that was it.” I exclaimed.

“Just making sure. Remind them about my ban. They are to leave no later than 6 pm.” She said getting up.

“Thanks, Lou.”

“No problem. Just have fun.” She said as she walked back to her house. I went back to my place just to find the boys nowhere in sight. What’s going on here? I thought as Liam came running down the stairs.

“Am I glad you’re here! I tried to stop them, but they wouldn’t listen. You might want to check your room.” He said sounding breathless. I ran up to my room and what do I find? Four boys with their heads in my closet and dresser. Harry and Louis were digging through my underwear drawers. Niall and Zayn were going through my clothes.

“What’s going on here?!” I screamed as the boys turned around in shock, caught in the act.

“Do you remember what happened the last time you did this?!” I asked in horror. They’re eyes widened as I could see remembrance come over their faces.

“I’m sorry, Melody! Please don’t tie me to a chair again!” Louis was on his knees begging and soon the rest joined him.

“I won’t be tying you to chairs again, I promise.” I said truthfully. “I have to pack anyway, so this actually helped me.” I said gesturing to the mess in front of me.

“Where are you going?” Niall asked.

“Did Lou say yes?” Harry asked getting up from his knees.

“Yes, she did. The shoot got moved to tomorrow. She said to remind you of the ban and that you need to be gone by 6pm.” I said walking over to get a suitcase. I pulled out a few hoodies, seeing as it was the beginning of winter there. I didn’t bother packing for really cold weather, because it never snowed there. It was actually warm, not as warm as summer, but still warm enough to wear shorts. I did pack a few sweats and jumpers, but not a lot. The boys were staring at me as I packed my bags.

“You didn’t answer my question.” Niall said.

“I’m going to visit my cousins in South Africa for my birthday.” I answered.

“We’ve never been there, have we boys?” Zayn asked.

“No.” Liam answered him.

“Can we come too, Melody?” Louis whined.

“Louis, we can’t just leave. We have responsibilities.” Liam said.

“We can ask management. I mean, we are on a break anyway.” Harry said. “Only if its okay with you though, Melody.”

“I can ask my cousin right now if you want me to.” I said pulling out my phone.

“Please!” they begged. I typed in Jane’s number.

“Cousin! What brings you to the place I call ears?” she asked. The boys laughed. “Great. I’m on speaker, aren’t I?”

“How many times do I have to tell you I hate being on speaker!” she shouted.

“Calm down or I’m not telling you the news.” I said as the boys continued laughing.

“Okay, okay.” She sighed.

“I can go.”

“YES! I haven’t seen you in so long. I can’t wait.”

“I know. The reason I’m actually calling is will you have enough room for five extra people?” I asked.

“That’s a stupid question. We had almost 30 people staying here when my uncle got married and you’re asking that.” She said.

“There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people.” I said quoting South Park.

“Mel, you just called yourself stupid.” She laughed.

“You know what I meant. So its fine if they come?” I asked.

“Yeah. More people, more fun.” She said.

“Hey guys, management said we can go.” Liam said coming back inside.

“YES!” they all screamed.

“HEY! I’m still on the phone here.” I said pointing to my phone.

“Sorry.” They chorused.

“Wow. That was loud.” Jane said.

“I know. Prepare for the loudest guests you’ve ever had.”

“Yay…” she said sarcastically. “I got to go now. Unlike you someone still has homework to do.”

“Sure. Love you. Bye!”

I looked to the boys who were in hushed discussions.

“Uhm, what should we pack?” Liam asked me.

“Lots of sunscreen. It might be winter, but the sun doesn’t care about that. Its not cold like here. It doesn’t snow. Just pack for summer, but take a few jackets.” I said turning back to my bags.

“Your cousin sounds a lot like you.” Louis said.

“Ha! We’re as different as day and night.” I laughed.

“Oh, I’m sure you are.” Zayn said disbelievingly.

“Do you guys want to go shopping?” I asked out of the blue.

“SHOPPING!!!” they screamed and started running towards the front door.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” I said following them out the door.
