8. Liam Imagine For mybestfriendisapenguin_xX

Y’know that horrible feeling when you think you’re gonna be alone forever?! Well I’m feeling like that right now. After another failed relationship, I just feel like giving up. My best friends Danielle, Eleanor and Perrie all tell me ‘Maybe he wasn’t the right one’... how many more bad apples do I really need to go through before finding a good one?

I probably sound like some sort of sob story but that’s really not the case. I’m 20 and for the 4 years that I’ve been seeing guys... every single one I’ve ever trusted has cheated on me or done something unforgiveable. That’s why I always say to my friends it’s easy for you to say stuff like that. They’re all in relationships where everything goes pretty much perfect. I must sound like I’m jealous... and to a point I am because all I want is someone to call my own and be happy.

But here I was, in a club, playing third wheel to the three couples. I was scoping the talent. Nobody interesting. But then do I really wanna look for someone? I noticed my glass was empty... time for another drink. I love to drown my sorrows when I’m feeling like this. I ordered my drink and as I waited, I slumped on the bar. “Smile... it might never happen y’know!” A guy said smiling next to me. He had the most gorgeous blue eyes and smile too.

I tried to keep a straight face. “I’m starting to think it won’t!” I held my hand out. “I’m Maude. And you are?”

He took my hand and electric shocks went through me. “Liam.” He said, smiling again. His smile was equally as gorgeous as his eyes. “Mind looking after my drink whilst I go for a wiz?”

“Sure, no problem!” I watched him as he walked off. He was pretty sexy if I’m honest and had a nice bum too. He got back and we ended up chatting all night about anything and everything. We got on really well. And he had me smiling and laughing nearly all the time.

The night came to an end... sadly. We left the club together, still laughing. We’d swapped numbers hours ago and I was hoping he’d want to meet up with me again. “Thank you for tonight Liam, you really took my mind off of things.” He hugged me, felt soooo nice!

“No problem, it’s a shame it has to end.” He let me go and looked at me for a second. He moved in closer. I knew what he was gonna do so I met him half way. Our lips met, and it was a kiss so tender and sweet, it gave me goose bumps. “Until we meet again.” He said smiling as we pulled apart.

*Three years later*

“Liam! Could you just see to Taylor please?!” I shouted from the kitchen as I cooked dinner and heard our six month old daughter on the baby monitor. I heard footsteps on the stairs and smiled. Liam had been so amazing with Taylor since she was born. He’d been amazing with me too. Best thing that ever happened to me! That night three years ago, unbeknown to me, was the start of what looks to be the rest of my life.

Lost in thought I didn’t hear Liam come back down. He crept up on me and made me jump when he snaked his arms around me. “She’s sound asleep babe.” I turned to give him a cuddle.

“Thank you. Dinner will be ready any minute.” I said with a smile.

“Awesome! Love you babe!” Liam looked at me smiling as he said that.

“Love you too!” I smiled and looked to the wall where a plaque read They don't know the things we do, they don't know about the I love yous, they don't know about us. Me and Liam had brought that when we first moved in together, meant a lot as we'd been through a lot since we got together. And so far, every time I look at it, it reminds me just how lucky I am.
