{Please don't judge the book on the first few chapters... I was 13.}

8. Dad comes for a chat

 It had been a few weeks since the duel with Mark. Helena sat on the beach shore, looking out.

"I bet you think I'm an idiot, fighting Mark. Honestly Dad, I don't know why I did it. It just irritated me so much when they all thought I was weak and all I was, was Percy Jackson's sister." she addressed the water. Nothing happened.

"I'm sorry, I just thought" she chuckled "that you would answer for some reason." she started to turn back to Cabin 3 when she saw Percy standing there.

"Were you there long?" she asked her brother of merely a few months.

"Long enough to hear the conversation. Well, one side of it anyway." he laughed. He offered her his arm and they almost set off for the Poseidon cabin. Almost. They heard the water ripple and instantly turned to see a tall, dark haired, green eyed man with broad shoulders wearing Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

"DAD?!" the two shouted in disbelief. The god smiled brightly at his two demigod children.

"Oh, yes I've been meaning to talk to you about that duel Helena. I wished you would have listened to Percy and realised that you could've gotten hurt. Although you did get hurt, you were victorious. I shall not lie, I was very proud - seeing you with that sword. Percy, you could've spent longer trying to stop her. But, I suppose I'm glad you didn't. I believe you probably did show all of those people. You most certainly are not weak - which you clearly showed Mark. I suppose most people already knew that you weren't though." the god of the sea told his daughter.

Percy and Helena stood there in shock. Their father was... It took mere minutes after his speech for the siblings - Helena leading - to tackle their father in a hug. One he was not expecting.

After getting up off the ground, they spent what seemed like hours talking before the horn blew for dinner. They said their farewells before Poseidon asked to speak with Percy in private.
