Chapter 4

Katie’s POV.

We arrived at the club at around 10:00 and the place was packed. There were screaming fans, cameras everywhere and what looked like, hundreds of celebrities entering the club.

After putting my dress on, Ali had tried to convince me to wear a pair of high-heels but, I just wouldn’t. What was the point of putting yourself in pain, just so you gained a couple of inches? Instead I had decided to wear my black sneakers. Ali had complained the whole way about how it ruined the dress, but I didn’t think they were that bad. Plus, now that I see that we’re going to have to barge our way into the club, I think sneakers were the wiser choice.

Ali on the other hand, had decided on a pair of hot pink stilettos and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was begging to go home in an hour, because she was in pain.

“Well let’s do this.” I nudged to Ali.

We got out of the car, and thousands of lights were flashing everywhere I looked.  My eyes felt like they were on fire and I could barely see anything. We barged through the group of photographers, with Ali’s hand in mine and finally made it to the front of the club.

They better not touch Betty (my car), if I came back to see one scratch on her, someone was going to get it.

We managed to enter the club, unharmed, and it really did look amazing. The whole place was lit up with neon lights; there were posters of one direction on the wall, fairy lights draped around the bar and even some celebrities I had seen on the TV. It wasn’t like I was going to talk to any of them though.

“O.M.G. Katie. It’s that’s hot guy, off the TV! I’m gonna go to talk to him! Oh and Katie, have some fun, you haven’t had any in a while since Ben.”” she looked pitiful but excited.

I was about to stop her but she was already making her way towards him. I rolled my eyes “Don’t you dare get us kicked out, Ali.” I called after her.

Why did she have to bring up Ben? I had tried to hide that little piece of my life away and it didn’t put me in the best mood when it resurfaced. I hadn’t talked to the bastard since… that night, and I wasn’t going to any time soon.

Just then, applause went over the room and I expected it was the boys arriving. I felt an excitement build in my chest at the thought of seeing Liam again. Stop it, Katie. He’s probably forgotten all about you and will be talking to more important people all night, like celebrities, which you’re not.

The boys immersed from the crowd and I spotted Liam instantly. He looked so good. He was wearing a black shirt, skinny jeans and a pair of sneakers. Casual, but so drool-worthy. A group of girls pounced on the boys and obscured my view. Damn them. I wasn’t finished checking Liam out.

I saw Carla and Bethany, the girls Zayn and Niall had chosen. They looked great. A bit too dolled up for my liking, but great. I decided to walk over and join them.

“Hiya guys.” I called.

“Oh heya, Katie!” Carla beamed. She seemed happy to see me and gestured to a seat next to her.

I sat down and turned to face them. Bethany didn’t seem to be happy to see me, at all. Had I done something wrong?

“Hiya, Bethany.” I tried.

Bethany rolled her eyes and walked in the opposite direction from us. Oh. She didn’t like me then. Well, if that’s how she normally acts, the feeling is mutual.

“Sorry, I don’t know what I did wrong.” I looked down to my hands in my lap.

“Nothing, she just got jealous when Niall and all the other guys were checking you out on stage. Don’t really like the girl personally, but I didn’t really feel like I should be talking to all these celebs, which left me with Bethany.” She smiled reassuringly as she drank something red from a wine flute.

“Oh. I didn’t realise.” I flushed.

“Na, don’t worry.” She reassured. She sipped on her drink again. Hope she wasn’t a light-weight. That would be a problem.

I liked Carla though. She was nice and she reminded me of myself.

“Well hello ladies.” A husky voice came from behind me. I recognised it.

Carla was smiling gleefully at the figure behind me, and I turned around to find Zayn.

“Hey, Zayn.” I greeted him.

He took the seat next to me, and a look of disappointment went across Carla’s face, but it was gone within seconds when Zayn waved at her. They seemed like a good match. She was nice, pretty, smart and stylish and Zayn was mysterious, hot, caring and stylish. A match made in heaven to me. I decided to see if I could make this match happen.

“Well, I better go find Ali, god knows what she’s been up to.” I laughed.

“See you around, Katie.” Carla beamed, obviously seeing what I was trying to do here.

“Yeah, see you.” Zayn said. He sounded confused or disappointed? Or was it just my imagination? Probably just my imagination.

I made my way through the crowd until I banged into a large figure’s chest.

“Oh, I’m so sorry.” I apologised. I felt two strong hands holding my upper arms.

“No problem, Kitty Kat.” He replied. I looked up.

Ugh. Harry frickin Styles. Great. Just great.

Harry’s POV.

“No problem, Kitty Kat.” I replied when I realised it was Katie. Just the person I had wanted to see.

She looked up at me with a look of frustration and anger. Looked good on her although, I figured anything would look good on her. I examined her more closely and looked down her body. Jesus, Christ.

She definitely looked good in that. I smirked and did a double-take, my eyes travelling down her body and stopping on a few curves I hadn’t realised she had.

The white dress complimented her tanned skin and made her eyes sparkle. What was I doing? I sounded like I was about to jump over the rainbow with a bunch of unicorns and fairies. Pull it together man.

“Stop checking me out, you perv.” She yanked her arms out of my hands and if looks could kill, she was definitely giving me one.

“Who said I was checking you out?” I asked innocently.

“Whatever, just piss off.” She was about to walk away.

I quickly held her arm and leaned into her ear, “Unless you wanted me to, Kitty-Kat. I could do a thorough inspection.” I smirked as I felt the waves of anger rolling off of her skin.

She made a cute little growl of frustration and looked me in the eye “You, Harry Styles, are a dick.” She was pointing a little finger at me and it was almost intimidating.

She looked hot when she was angry.

“I may be Kitty-Kat, but I’m an irresistible dick.” I smirked.

She rolled her eyes and she walked in the opposite direction.

“I like the sneakers!” I called after her.

I watched her as she walked away. I would make sure I saw her again, tonight.

Katie’s POV.

That guy was infuriating! He was a sadistic, jerk faced moron, who thought he owned the world and I didn’t like him one bit. If I had to talk to him more one more minute of tonight, I was going to kill.

How did those other boys live with him? I would’ve strangled him by now.

I searched the crowd and my eyes landed on a pair of brown ones. Liam. I felt a rush of excitement and nervousness go through me, and I made my way towards him, trying to hide the smile I was sure that was plastered all across my face.

“Wow, you look amazing, Katie.” He grinned.

I could tell he was checking me out, as his eyes gazed intently up and down, up and down. I didn’t mind he was checking me out, but I had hated it when Harry had been.

It had made my stomach twist and turn in disgust with Harry, but wherever Liam’s eyes travelled, I felt my skin heat up under his gaze. I flushed bright red.

I coughed awkwardly and then he looked back up to my face, a little shell-shocked and I couldn’t help but giggle. He blushed and looked down towards my shoes.

He laughed, “Nice shoes.” He stuck his foot out and I saw a pair of sneakers just like mine, and I grinned.

“Great minds think alike.” I teased.

“I’m glad you could make it, I was worried you weren’t going to show.” he said nervously.

Really? I felt giddy at this. Although, he was probably lying right? He looked sincere and he had been so nice to me though. Just maybe?

“Well, Ali insisted.” I smiled and his face dropped.

Oh no. “I wanted to come too though.” I said quickly trying to right what I said.

His face seemed to light up a bit more, “Oh really? Why?” he challenged.

I smiled shyly at my shoes, “Well, I’ve never really been to a celebrity part before and…I wanted to see you, again.” I’m sure my whole face was crimson.

My heart was beating like a rocket. Why I had just said that? I probably sounded like some crazy, obsessed girlfriend. I should have just stuck with the first line and then it wouldn’t have sounded so bad. I’m sure if he had liked me at all before, he was probably running in the opposite direction from that right now.

I opened my mouth to say something…anything.

“I really wanted to see you again too. I can’t seem to get you out of my head.” He said so quietly, that it was almost silent.

Was he being sarcastic? Was he making fun of me? Was he trying to make me not feel so bad for my little outburst?

I looked up into my eyes and my heart could have melted, he was telling the truth and he looked as shy and nervous as I felt.

I was so happy. HE WANTED TO SEE ME. Happy dance time. Maybe he likes me? Okay, maybe I was slightly too excited by what he said, but I didn’t care.

I looked up to his eyes and grinned “Well who wouldn’t? Huh.” I said playfully.

He grinned back and let out a throaty laugh. God, I loved that laugh.

Liam’s POV.

She had wanted to see me? Maybe, she had been thinking about me too? No. Probably not as much as I had been thinking about her anyway, that was impossible.

We talked what felt like forever and I was having such a good time that all I could focus on was Katie. She looked gorgeous. I didn’t think she could have looked better than what she had on the stage, but I was so wrong.

Her white dressed hugged her curves which made my cheeks flush, her skin was flawless, her legs were just lying there perfectly, waiting to be touched, her lips looked like they would taste of heaven and those eyes… I just wanted to melt right into them.

It was the best fun I’d had in a long time. I wanted this night to last forever.

I decided to introduce her to a bunch of people, and she was a hit. Everyone loved her, I’m not sure if she adored all of them, but they sure adored her.

I could see Harry out of the corner of my eye, watching us. I tried to block Harry out and just focus on something else, anything else. He wasn’t going to leave it alone, was he? I sighed in frustration and ran my hand through my hair.

“Are you okay?” Katie asked sweetly.

“Oh yeah, just a bit tired.” I tried to sound truthful but she looked at me as if that was the biggest lie in the world.

“A-ha.” She said doubtfully.

I decided to introduce her to our back-up dancers now, and I couldn’t wait. Those guys were so important to us and I was sure they would love Katie. I walked towards them with my hand on the centre of Katie’s back and it felt right.

“Katie this is, Joe, Billy, Annie, Penny and…”

I was cut off by Ben’s loud exclamation, “KATIE?!” he asked in disbelief.

I looked down to Katie to see she had a look of shock, anger, sadness and regret. I didn't like that look. Not one bit. What was going on?
