Chapter 1

Katie’s POV.

Why had I agreed to this again? Oh yeah- Ali. My ears were burning, my nose was filled with the scent of sweat & unbearable perfume fragrances, my legs felt like they were about to drop off and I was so hot, that I thought I might faint. What’s worse? The concert hadn’t even started yet. That damn girl owed me.

“You owe me big time Ali. And when I say big time, I mean like at least a hundred double-chocolate muffins.” I sighed. Those things were unbeatable.

“Wow, chocolate muffins. You really must be pissed with me. Anyway, it’s not that bad…” Ali was bouncing on her toes like all the other brainwashed female fans around me, trying to get a glance at the band.

What were they thinking? So they were 5 guys with pretty faces… So what? They’re probably self-obsessed pricks anyway. I should probably keep those thoughts to myself though; Ali had threatened me more than once for “Disrespecting the boys.” It was sort of scary.

“It’s not that bad? I have vomit on my shoe, could quite possibly die from a heart attack or stroke out at any second from all of this drama and... I am going to seriously die of boredom if they don’t start soon.” I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed to show my annoyance.

Ali rolled her eyes, “Come on, Katie. Can’t you just admit you are just as excited as I am about this? I am totally stoked about actually getting to drool over them in person instead of on my wall! Well at a distance anyway.” Ali was clapping her hands like a small child and had a gleam of excitement in her eyes. I guess I could at least act happy for her.

“I guess it would be cool to actually hear their music for once, instead of hearing how amazing they sound from you.” I tried to sound excited.

Ali must have bought it because a huge smile spread across her face. “That’s more like it; they should be coming on in the next 5 minutes.” She suddenly had a panicked look on her face “OMG. 5 minutes? How do I look? I don’t just need to look good, I need to look amazing. As in Harry Styles good enough amazing.”

I sighed. “You always look amazing Ali and any guy would be an idiot not to like you.” She was crazy if she didn’t see that.

She looked doubtful “I’m just some plain and boring girl. I could never be good enough for someone like Harry Styles.” she looked down sadly.

I tried not to scream how wrong she was, “Have you seen yourself?” she was so crazy if she had, “I would kill for your luscious blonde hair and your figure, it’s like you walked straight out of a magazine.  Plus, you are one of the funniest and kindest people I know. You’re probably too good for whoever this Harry Styles is.”

I wasn’t lying either. Ali had long blonde hair which fell in long waves down her back, bright blue eyes which could light up the room and legs which went on forever. She was also an amazing friend and my crazy, best one. I don’t know how I would live without her. She also had a talent for convincing people to do things, including convincing me to come with her to this concert. It wasn’t fair, you could not say no to this girl.

“Yeah, well they probably won’t even glance in this direction, so it doesn’t matter anyway.” All of a sudden a chaos of screams and shouting started to form around me and I took it as a sign that they had just come on stage. I was so going to have a headache after this.

“Ahh! Look at them Katie!” Ali was screeching.

I looked towards the stage hesitantly and there they were. I noticed from a distance that they all looked pretty normal but as much as I hated to admit it… they were sort of attractive. I saw one with brown curls and a confidence about him, one with light blonde hair who was quite short, one with brown hair and a cheeky smile, one with black spiky hair and a bad-boy look about him and one with close-shaved hair who had a kind smile.

That was pretty much all I could gather from the position I was standing in, but it was close enough to admire them from. I think I liked the one with the kind smile the most; he just had this inviting and warm look about him.

“What are all their names?” I leaned over to one of the other girls standing by me as Ali probably wouldn’t answer with the state she was in.

“The curly haired one is Harry, but he’s mine so back off” she sent me a death glare. Yikes. “the one standing towards the left is Zayn, the blonde one is Niall, the one next to Harry is Louis and the other one is Liam. How did you not know that anyway? Do you live in the 21st century?” she was looking at me like I was the dumbest person on the planet. I kinda felt like it.

I didn’t bother to reply and I turned back around to Ali who was staring with her mouth wide open at the stage. I realised they had started speaking to the audience who were all staring and watching intently as if they were some sort of gods.

Harry was speaking first, “How’s everyone doing tonight?” he put a hand to his ear.

“WE LOVE YOU!” “I WANNA HAVE BABIES WITH YOU!” “WE LOVE YOU HAZZA BEAR! “was all I could here. Some people I really didn’t understand. They must get sick of all this attention.

Next was Niall, “Well we’re looking forward to entertaining you all tonight!” I almost couldn’t understand him as he had an Irish accent. It was kind of cute.

“Well this first song we’re going to be singing you is called, Live While We’re Young. Some of you might have heard of it before.” Zayn said. He had this husky quality to his voice.

Immediately everyone started cheering as the light faded slightly and a jumpy beat started to pound from the speakers. This was going to be a long night…

Liam’s POV.

The music was blaring, the crowd was screeching. We all loved it. I just sort of blocked all of those sounds out and focused on the music though.

Sweat was pouring down our faces as we continued bounding around across the stage, and I was so high on adrenaline, everything felt effortless. Harry would talk to the crowd after every song and he was eating up the attention they were giving him. I tried to stay slightly more reserved, only occasionally talking to the audience.

I gazed over all of the female faces in the audience from time to time. They all looked so obsessed with us. I didn’t see why, we were just normal guys.

I scanned over the audience once more and I noticed one girl who was standing there who looked like she would rather be anywhere else than here. She was beautiful. Her hair was a dark brown which curled at the ends, her skin looked like silk and her clothes had this edgy and down to earth look. She wasn’t overly dressed like some of the girls in the audience and I liked it. I couldn’t see much more but I yearned to know what colour her eyes were because if they were brown, I was literally going to faint.

Why did she seem so bored? She was dancing slightly with her enthusiastic friend but she had the fakest smile on her face I ever thought possible.

Each one the boys would pick a girl out of the audience and bring her on stage during one of our songs and I knew I wanted to pick her. I normally randomly picked any girl; I didn’t want to just pick the hottest girl I could find. I thought that was wrong. Harry and Louis on the other hand, that’s exactly what they did. I found that shallow, but I loved them anyway. Zayn normally went for the more down to earth sort of girls and Niall, well he usually chose any girl with food around. This always cracked me up.

I turned away from the girl and looked towards the other boys. Harry had a shit eating grin on his face. He winked at me. He had obviously seen me looking at that girl then. He would probably tease me for that later. Even more if I brought her on to the stage, and that’s exactly what I was going to do.

Harry’s POV.

Liam had totally been checking that girl out. I couldn’t blame him. I had been considering bringing her on stage earlier. And I still was considering. It wasn’t like I wasn’t going to not pick her if I wanted to, just because Liam had been checking her out.

Her friend was hot too but they looked like complete opposites from here. Her friend was blonde, pale skinned and was wearing a flashy outfit whereas the girl, had long wavy brown hair, tanned skin and was wearing jeans and a T-Shirt. They were both really attractive but I preferred the brunette. As did Liam, I figured.

I was jumping around the stage pumping my fist in the air and singing my heart out. I loved these gigs. I also loved the attention. I wasn’t going to lie; I enjoyed all the screaming fans calling my name out. It felt good. Liam said I liked it a bit too much but I figured I might as well enjoy it.

I leaned in toward the front of the audience and a girl clawed at my jacket. I heard a loud tearing sound and found she had ripped one of my sleeves off. That was one of my favourite jackets as well.

Damn, there were some down points of the attention. I spared the girl a slightly annoyed look and turned around to take my jacket off as the song ended. I decided it was no good and flung it into the audience and watched as several girls fought for my jacket. God, I loved this life.
