Pangaea* (Under revision!)

50.5 million years into the future, and Earth has reverted back to it's original state-the super continent of Pangaea. A new country is born, learning from past mistakes. A girl, riddled with sadness but an unknown power. A boy, with a silver spoon in his mouth and pockets full of money. This infant country is, however, surrounded by war and death, and both boy and girl are no exception. When a government plot threatens to overthrow everything they hold dear, Adelle and Marcus must search themselves to decide what's right.

"Marcus! Get up!" I screamed. "Get up!" "Ari.." The name fluttered across my mind as I dodged a short, sharp blade that was thrusted before me.  Ah, I remember. "We don't have time for this!" I yelled, twirled around my opponent. I couldn't see his face- a dark hood covered most of it. All I could see was a flash of red- and he was behind me. "Damn." I cursed, finally pulling out my own weapon- a long, wickedly sharp machete, out of it's sheath. I'd traded for it back in town. It has never seen battle, until now at least.

"F***" I screamed as my enemy stabbed deep into my left leg. "Screw you!" I cried out, before bringing down my μαχαίρι  over his head.  "Marcus!" I called out once more, feeling my throat cry out in pain. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure slowly, as if encased in mud, push off from the ground. I glanced towards my right-Andrew was holding off alright on his own. Suddenly, I large weight pushed me to the ground, knocking the wind out of me.

I gasped for air as the large person pressed down on my windpipe. "Little bitch thought she could get away, did she?" He snarled. "Any last words?" "F*** . . . you . . " I gritted out. The hood had fallen back, and I could see the scarred mess of his face twist into an expression of pure anger. I narrowed my eyes. Even with the dark spots marring my vision, and my last breathe leaving my body, I could see that he was truly and utterly pathetic. With that thought, I pulled my knees to my chest as best I could with him still on top of me, and flung him forwards.

Pulling to my feet, I felt a stinging surge of pain from my leg. The adrenaline was starting to wear off, and I could feel myself swaying. "No. Not now." I said aloud.  Gritting my teeth, I charged forwards, annihilating anyone in my path. What is this feeling? It felt surreal, as if in a dream. I felt like a superhero, as cliche as that sounds.  The strength was overwhelming. "What is happening?" I mumbled, taking care to search the surroundings for more of the masked idiots. I sighed, before crumbling to the ground, utterly spent.

"Ade!" "Hmm?" I replied, drifting in and out of a hazy, delirious state. The wound in my leg burned, and I struggled not to cry out in pain. "ADE!" The voice was louder, more desperate. I snapped back to reality. "What? What's happening?!" I yelled, pushing to my feet. "Ah!" I screamed. "God!" I limped towards the voice, and nearly collapsed once more. One of the last of the masked idiots stood over my brother, her knife buried deep into his stomach.  "Andrew!"
