Good Girl Gone Bad

When the best student in school meets a few boys, she'll have to make some big decisions. Who will she choose?

12. Why?

Louis stood there, tears were spewing out of his eyes. I knew if I didn't get out of there I'd drown from the amount of tears that were coming from Louis or worse, I'd have to comfort him. I turned around and began walking down the hall as quickly as I could.

"Harper!" Louis nearly screamed when he noticed I was leaving him. I let out a groan and turned around to look at him. Even though I addressed him as my friend before doesn't mean that we are close. It also doesn't mean that I can tolerate his crying or the rest of the week.

"Yes, Louis?" I asked and raised my eyebrow at him. Louis didn't reply automatically he just kind of stared at the ground. So, I took a couple of steps toward him.

"Are you okay?" I asked yet another question. Louis looked up from the ground.

"Not really..." Louis sniffled and wiped a few tears off of his cheeks.

"I apologize for Harry's behavior." I stated, it was the only thing I could think to say. I've never been good at comforting people.

"It's not your fault." Louis assured me and finally looked me in the eyes and gave me a weak smile.

"Normally, I would be very against skipping school, but you're a different than me and I'd never be put in this situation so I think you should go home." I suggested and returned his smile.

"I guess you're right... I'll call my mom and tell her I got sick." Louis nodded and walked over to me before wrapping his arms around me tightly. I stiffened up automatically and didn't bother returning the favor of wrapping my arms around her.

"I'm sorry for cutting this hug short, but I really should be going to class now." I bellowed and pulled away as politely as I could.

"If you see Harry today casually bring it up that I had to leave because of him." Louis instructed after he let go. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle even though he was being completely serious.

"I will." I promised and tried to hide my amused smile. Louis nodded at me and gave my another one of his half smiles before turning and walking away.

After my first class ended I prepared myself for the war that is the hallway. I didn't want to see Harry, I didn't want to "casually" bring Louis up to Harry either.

"So, I have plenty of drama to catch you up on!" Izzy blurted as she approached me.

"Is it about Louis and Harry?" I asked and kept walking down the hallway emotionless.

"So you already know?!" Izzy replied excitedly and grinned at me.

"Yes, I know. I was practically dragged into it." I sighed and glanced over at her.

"You look prettier than usual." I noted flatly, Izzy gave me a strange look.

"Aren't I always pretty?" Izzy scoffed.

"Obviously you're gorgeous, but today you look even better." I explained.

"Well, to be honest I wanted to look good for Niall." Izzy admitted quietly.

"I'm sure Niall thinks you look great." I assured her and opened my locker.

"Go away, I need to talk to Harper." A familiar voice demanded rudely.

"Yeah, sure thing. I'll do whatever you want because the world revolves around you." Izzy remarked before walking away angry.

"What do you want, Harry?" I asked without looking away from my locker.

"What did Louis say to you after I left?" Harry questioned nervously.

"He left school because of you." I informed simply.

"What? That's ridiculous."  Harry commented in disbelief. "Why would he do that?" Harry added.

I slammed my locker shut and glared at him.

"I don't know, Harry." I shrugged. "It probably has something to do with his boyfriend publicly calling him a... you know." I spat and gave him an annoyed look.

"A queer?" Harry implored.

"Yes." I confirmed and nodded.

"Well he is." Harry justified. I snorted and shook my head.

"So are you, Harry!" I shouted and pointed my finger at him.

"Hush..." Harry shushed me quietly. "You need to understand why I reacted the way I did. See, Louis and I had an agreement when we first got together that no matter neither of us would tell anybody till I said I was ready, but Louis just went and told everybody."  Harry justified.

"Harry, do you here what you are saying? You said when you were ready? Do you realize that you are making Louis compromise to your needs? Not to be rude, but maybe what Izzy said was correct." I pointed out before storming away.

"You look furious." Liam observed when I took a seat in front of him in my second period class.

"I'm just a little bit displeased with Harry." I explained.

"What happened?" Liam demanded. I let out a sigh.

"Louis told the truth about them when confronted by people and Harry found out and called him a derogatory term for a homosexual in front of everybody." I explained quickly.

"What?!" Liam gasped and gave me a shocked look.

"Yes, and then Louis cried and hugged me." I added and gave him a look.

"Louis hugged you?" Liam chuckled. "I'm not even sure if you like it when I hug you." Liam interjected.

"I'm getting used to your constant hugging." I giggled and flashed him a smile. Liam smiled at me.

"Okay, class, today I would like for you to summarize what we learned in chapter four." The teacher directed and sat down at his desk.

After the class was nearly half way over the classroom door crept open and Harry sauntered in looking extremely messy. His hair was messed up and he had dried blood under his nose.

"Mr.Styles, what happened to you?" The teacher asked quickly.

"The principal is handling it, it's fine." Harry answered quietly and took a seat beside Liam in the row next to ours.

"Holy shit, what happened?" Liam whispered.

"Zayn heard that I called Louis a queer and he punched me." Harry explained. Liam and I exchanged shocked looks.

"But you're his best friend?" Liam interjected and shook his head. "Well, other than me..." Liam added in a hushed voice so only he could hear.

"I know... He said that I was still his best-friend, but he had to beat some since into me." Harry explained.

"Did it work?" I questioned.

"Mr.Payne, maybe you could interrogate Mr.Styles about the incident on your own time." The teacher suggested in a condescending tone.
