Good Girl Gone Bad

When the best student in school meets a few boys, she'll have to make some big decisions. Who will she choose?

8. First Party

"I really don't want to go tonight." I grumbled into the phone as I looked through my closet.

"You have to go," Izzy insisted. "do it for Liam!"

"Well, if I go then you have to, too." I replied pulling out a a cream colored dress with a black sweater.

"Of course I'm going, I'm taking every opportunity I get to talk to that Irish cutie." Izzy explained sounding a bit excited.

"Of course you are." Harper commented as she searched for her black tights.

"Now, what's that supposed to mean?!" Izzy questioned immediately.

"Nothing, nothing, I have to go get ready though. I'll see you at the party." I said before hanging up and putting on my outfit.

I quickly put my hair into a loose bun with a headband before waiting on Liam to pick me up.

"So, where are you going tonight?" My mom asked as I sat in the living room.

"Uh, I'll probably go study Liam at the library and then pick Izzy up on the way home." I lied hoping it wouldn't be too obvious.

"You're pretty dressed up just to go tutor this boy." My mom commented looking at me from head to toe.

"Well, we might stop to get something to eat." I explained with a shrug. My mother opened her mouth like she was about to say something but stopped when she was interrupted by the doorbell.

"He's here, see you later!" I exclaimed quickly, trying to beat my mom to the front door.

"Oh, don't be silly, I want to meet him." She insisted and opened the door.

"You must be Liam." My mom assumed as she stared at the nervous boy standing at the door.

"Yes, it's nice to meet you, ma'am." Liam replied and shook her hand.

"You too."

"C'mon, Liam, we better go." I urged and gave my mother a glare as I tried to force myself around her and out of the front door.

"You two be careful and have fun." She mumbled before closing the door.

"So, I'm guessing she doesn't know we're going to a party?" Liam asked before opening the car door for me.

"No, I feel really bad about lying to her." I admitted and chewed on my bottom lip.

"Don't feel bad about it," Liam began as he took a seat on the driver's side. "everybody lies to their parents at one point." He tried to assure me.

"Yeah, but I don't like lying."

"You'll be fine, I promise." Liam said with a smile as he pulled out of my driveway.

"I've never actually been to a party before." I admitted nervously.

"It's not that great, like, at all. I hate parties, I only come because of Zayn, Harry, and Louis." Liam explained as he glanced over at me.

I climbed out of the car and followed Liam nervously, my heart was beating fast against my chest, my hands were a shaking. The music was so loud it was shaking the ground outside.

"Don't be nervous, it's fine." Liam reassured me as he draped his arm around my shoulders.

"Hey, Harriet!" Harry slurred out as I walked through the front door.

"Harper." I corrected quietly.

"Whatever..." Harry replied and stumbled off.

"He's, uh, very drunk." I whispered as I watched him walk away, bumping into everything in sight.

"Harper!" A girl's voice squealed from somewhere along the crowd.

"Was that Izzy?" I asked looking up at Liam, but he didn't hear me over the music.

"Harper!" I heard her call again and finally spotted her walking towards me with Niall at her side.

"Hey!" I yelled above the music and smiled at them both. Izzy's face was flush and her cheeks were a blotchy red, I could tell she had already been drinking.

"Are you guys having fun?" I asked as I looked around at all the people dancing around the house.

"Yeah!" Izzy exclaimed grabbing the red plastic cup from Niall's hand and taking a drink of the beer.

"Zayn was looking for you, by the way." Niall informed, also taking a sip from the red cup.

"Of course he was." I muttered and stood on my tip toes to look around for him.

"Niall, come on, I love this song!" Izzy yelled as she pulled him toward the dance floor leaving me alone with Liam.

"Hey, I'll catch up with you in a little bit, I'm going to try to find Harry." Liam explained before quickly disappearing into the crowd. I groaned and looked for somewhere to sit, but could't find anywhere.

"Harper is at a party? That's shocking." The familiar voice chuckled from behind me. I turned around to be face to face with Zayn.

"I know, this certainly isn't my usual crowd." I replied quietly, Zayn leaned in closer than he already was so he could hear me.

"Oh, you have a usual crowd? Who's that, the chess club or the academic team?" Zayn teased with a small grin.

"Oh, shut up at least my crowd isn't like yours." I pointed out as I motioned to the drunk people stumbling around the room.

"At least my crowd is exciting." He argued pointing over to a drunk Harry who was leaning against Louis to hold himself up even though Louis looked like he was just as likely to tumble over.

"What's exciting about drinking till you are sick and passed out on your best-friend?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"It's fun, babe, just live a little." Zayn answered with a smirk.

"This isn't living, though!"

"How would you know, you have never even tried it?" Zayn asked placing his hands on his hips.

"Maybe, I'll try it out some other time." I sighed before turning around to walk away and find Liam, but stopping because what I saw. Harry and Louis were now standing on top of the table that they were just leaning against. Their bodies where pressed against each other, Louis' hand was tangled in Harry's curly hair, Harry's right on Louis' back, and his other hand hanging loosely with a bottle a whiskey in his hand. Louis and Harry were kissing each other roughly in front of everybody.
