Disclaimer: I do not own anything Stephenie Meyer has written!I do not have any intention to copy and publish her stories as mine!I love playing and messing with it, though ;)

This story is rated for language, slight violence and very slight sensuality. If you can't stand that, I suppose you shouldn't read it.

23. Epilogue

I was somewhat nervous today. After everything that had happened, today seemed so unreal. As if it didn’t fit in. a normal school day.

The danger had passed, even though it wasn’t over. It was only the beginning.

After my fight with James, the Cullens had eliminated him.

But Victoria and Laurent were still on free land. It got me wondering when they would come back to get their revenge.

And there was also Fiorenza, once my mother, now my archenemy. I was positive she’d hear the news about James’ kill. It was difficult to sleep at nights since I got home again. Alice had noticed and suggested Edward would stay with me. so after Bella slept in, he moved through my window and settled next to me on top of the covers until I’d fall asleep.

                I’d never slept better.

Today, was the last day of the school semester. I could feel the excited atmosphere as students hugged each other and traded stories about what their plans were for the summer. Summer. It made me think of LA.

Shortly after I’d left the hospital, I reassured them it was fine to go back.  They had their lives there, just as I lived mine here. I belonged here – like I’ve always done.

I found out why I felt so at home at the Cullen estate. Charlie had sold the house once we left south.

                I was born there.

When Charlie showed me pictures of me as a baby, with the surrounding of house I finally understood. It had been my home, and it was mine again now.

As I jumped out of the truck, I remembered something from a week earlier. Bella told Charlie that Edward was officially her boyfriend.

“Dad, I’m going to the Cullens tonight.” She said, making Charlie frown.

“You always go there? why is that? Are we that boring? “ He slung his arm around me, careful not to touch my broken shoulder too harsh.

“No…well, I’m dating Edward Cullen. He’s my boyfriend.” She replied hissing a bit.

Charlie’s face changed into a grimace.

“Edward Cullen? But he’s so…pale?”

Well, pale indeed. I blushed as I glanced at his face of perfection. He smiled back, waving at us. Bella appeared from behind me, running to him as he hugged her slightly. Her cast was gone since four days ago.

I was starting to get better at ignoring the painful stings and tugs at my heart. But at moments like that, I still felt it.

It was like a sign – a sign that he existed and that I loved him. Even if he didn’t know.

“Here, let me carry that for you.” Emmet was at my side, taking my bag from me. my shoulder wasn’t completely healed yet and walking around, missing one arm, was quite dangerous for a klutz like me.

As we neared, the others greeted me gleefully, happy I was at school again, even though it was the last day of the year, before summer would start.

The familiar nasal buzzing sound announced we needed to head to the cafeteria, where a few teachers would tell stories from this school year.

We all went inside, choose seven seats in the back of the room and listened to the headmaster’s speech.

“It’s been a wonderful year, here on Forks High School! We learned all kinds – “  he rattled. I sank away in my own thoughts.

It was true. It had been a wonderful year. But it had been tough also.

The first part of the school semester I was in LA, just getting out of the hospital after having been there for six months, revalidating from the explosion and last meeting I had with Fiorenza.

I’d been silent, depressive and scared for everything surrounding me.

Going to Forks had been one of the best decisions I’d ever made – I got friends, found out how it is to fall in love, learned to cope with heart break and started transforming in the creature I’d end up being.

A strong, independent, protective and above all immortal vampire hybrid.

But I yet had a long way to go – a way I proudly started walking.

I thought about the night I’d talked with Alice in the meadow, under the full moon.

I was a girl from the night, from twilight and from the moon.

A Moon Girl.
