10. Pizza and a Movie

I walked into the living  room but didn't see anyone. I heard someone talking and I followed the noise into the kitchen. The girls were there sitting at a table while Amanda was on the phone. I looked around to take a full look at the kitchen. It looked like one of those kitchens that should be used in a restaurant not in an apartment. It had a huge oven/stove thing, a big working station in the middle of the kitchen with a sink, and a ridiculously large fridge.

"---yes that would be all, thank you" said Amanda hanging up. "OK, the pizzas will be here in 20 minutes so lets watch t.v."

At the sound of "t.v.", Risa and Jessica ran to the living room like there was no tomorrow. It was always a battle between Jessica and Risa over which t.v. show to watch. One time, they both got to the remote at the same time and began tugging and pulling and bending until the thing actually broke in half. Poor guy.

"OOOOOO!" Lets watch the Office." said Risa after she won the wrestling match against Jessica for the remote.

I sat down to watch but the people were being so weird that I decided to go to my room and call my mom. After I got to my room I dialed the number from my new phone and mom picked up on the 2nd ring.

"Hi, mom"

"Hey, baby. Is everything alright?"

"Oh,yeah, just calling to tell you me and the girls  to here alright and we're settled in."

"OK. Do you need me to send you anything or come to see you or---"

"No, mom. Everything is fine."

"I know. Its just that I wished you would've stayed here instead of moving halfway across the world. I miss you to much."

"I miss you, too, mom. You know that I've always wanted to come here, though."

"Yeah, I know that's why I let you go."

"Oh, mom, the pizza's here I gotta go. I love you."

"I love you, too, baby." she said already sobbing softly.

"Awwwww! Mom, don't cry. The break will be here before you know it and I'll be back."

"Yeah, OK. Bye, I love you."

"Love you, too. Tell dad I said hi and that I love him, too."

I waited before I heard the click of her line hang up before I turned my phone off. I went to the living room where the smell of food instantly hit me.

"OK, so there's cheese, veggie, pepperoni, and pepperoni with sausage." said Cheyenne.

"Uhm. I'll take the veggie," I said. I grabbed 3 slices and sunk my teeth into one.

The feta cheese that was sprinkled on top was heavenly with the olive that I was chewing. I closed my eyes and leaned back on the sofa. I was starving because I hadn't ate anything since the morning before we went on the plane and this pizza was amazing.

"So, when is the concert, Kim?" asked Amanda breaking me from my trance.

"Uhm, Saturday, I think"

"That means tomorrow when we're exploring the town we need to find a concert outfit," she said.

"Didn't we pack clothes, though?" I asked.

"Yeah, but not concert clothes." explained Amanda like it was something I should've known.

"OK, but how early would we have to get up?" I asked.

"How about 10:30?" suggested Cheyenne getting in on the conversation.

"In the morning?" asked Jessica.

"What other time would it be?" I said looking at her. Risa began to choke on her soda.

"You have got to be crazy if you think I'm waking up that early on a summer weekday." said Risa.

"Oh, come on! It's not that early." said Amanda. "Stop being dramatic."

We shut up long enough to finish the episode of the Office. The only time I ever watched it was when Risa and my mom were hogging the t.v. at home, but it was actually pretty funny towards the end. I got up to put my plate in the sink. By the time I made my way back the girls were putting the pizzas together so they could be saved and to put their plates away in the sink. I waited for them to come back, but I took the remote and began to lazily flip through channels until I saw Tom Cruise.

"Hello."  I whispered and perked up and slowly put the remote down. The other girls sat down around me mesmerized by the actor.

"Which movie?" asked Jessica.

"I think its War of the Worlds." I said. I was growing tired so I laid my head on Jessica's shoulder and drifted off to sleep.
