Beautiful Hell (Draft 1)

For almost one hundred years, a brutal and bloody struggle for dominance between the kingdom of Ra'Ziel and the plains of Torath has torn the world asunder, raining death and destruction upon the earth. But this war is coming to an end. With only a few descendants of both royal lines living, will there finally be peace? Alexandra Ra'Ziel wants nothing more than to end the feud that took her older brothers from her, but Tristan Torath has different plans. He wants - he needs - retribution for the wrongs he has suffered. And so their story begins. Because anyone can find vengeance, but only a rare few achieve true justice.

Ok yeah, so here's the thing. I'm rewriting this story, so anybody who wants to read the new chapters (as I edit and revise them) can find them on my page. The Movella is titled Beautiful Hell (Re-imagined). And yeah, it's way way way better than this one, but also way more graphic too.

12. Tristan Torath IV

“What did you tell her?” Tris shook Jasper hard, throwing the boy against a pole. Jasper didn’t even try to defend himself.

“Nothing, just that all your issues come from the diseases you were born with because your father was actually a horse. Or maybe it was because of all his diseases. You know, I heard he can’t even-”

“By Phylos himself Jasper, if you screw me this time, I will kill you. Know that.” Tris almost couldn’t stop himself from grinning. Then he was totally serious again. Jasper seemed to sense his mood, because he stopped smiling.

“Tris, let me help you. Whatever you need, I’m here.” It was a lie, and they both knew it. Most of the time Tris was so volatile, even offering help would be a sure way to get yourself killed. But Jasper could always seem to sense when the demon was on him. Probably a gift from Konnie. “What is she anyway? You never take prisoners, except to kill them slowly. So why care what she thinks of you?”

“She’s a Ra’Ziel, and my father knows it. I need her to trust me, and that’s going to be hard enough already.”

“You gonna tell her about the scar?”

“No, I’m putting it off as long as possible. If I show her now, she’s going to run. She already thinks I’m a demon.”

Jasper grunted something that sounded dangerously close to the truth. Already they were in the danger zone, and Tris felt his heart clench as the pain flared up again. “It’s coming back, isn’t it?”

“It gets better around her, but I don’t know why. And yeah, blast it, it’s coming again. See you around.” And Tris stumbled off. He made it around a corner before he collapsed.
