11. Islands


Specks of earth,

thrown randomly into the blue,

separate worlds

that brave against the sea.


Some now lost to ages

and waves,

below, underwater palaces,

some others, lifeless hell-holes,

spewing lava, larger every day.

Even more of them, secret heavens,

where legends once lived.
