5. Chapter Five

-Liam's POV-

When Lucy walked in, I was a little surprised. I hadn't expected her to be so, well, different. She looked at me like I betrayed her. She and mum had an argument about her attitude and her living with me, but eventually Lucy gave in. But when she walked past me to go upstairs, she didn't even look at me. Not even an slight gaze.

Three and a half hours later, I headed upstairs to get Lucy. Walking in, I saw she had fallen asleep on her bed, with a book in her hands. There were three suitcases, a backpack, and what looked like carry on bag sitting on the floor at the foot of her bed. I decided to let her sleep and took her bags down to the car. Half an hour later, I woke her up.

"Lucy, wake up," I said softly while shaking her shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open and for a second I saw a glimpse of my sister, but then it was replaced by a cold, calculating look.

"It's time to head to the airport," I announced as she stood up. The 17 year old girl in front of me nodded, then walked past me. She stopped in front of a mirror and checked her hair, then pulled the beanie over her head again. Lucy walked out the door, not speaking to me.

I followed behind, a little hurt. Lucy was standing in the living room, waiting for me.

"Where are all my bags?" she asked me.

"I put them in the car already. You were asleep and I didn't want to wake you," I replied. Mum stood up and gave me and Harry a hug goodbye. When she went to give Lucy a hug, Lucy stepped away. A flash of pain crossed mum's face, but was gone just as quickly.

"Well, bye. I love you both," mum said.

"Love you too mum," I told her. I gave her one last hug and then I walked out the door, Harry and Lucy following me.

I opened the door on the car for Lucy and she climbed in, not even looking at me. I got in behind her and shut the door. The car started moving soon after. Lucy was looking out the window, not speaking to either of us. Harry and I were having a conversation, but I kept looking over at Lucy, who never once glanced at me.

-Lucy's POV-

We were on our way to the airport; Harry, Liam, and I. I kept seeing Liam look at me out of the corner of my eye, but I ignored it. I wasn't going to go back to my weak self, the one who cried and cried when Liam left. That person was weak. That person was spineless and a fool for trusting others. Practically everyone I had trusted had let me down, so I kept my guard up, trusting only after months of getting to know a person and how they thought.

When we arrived at the airport, I picked up my carry on, pulling the strap over my head so the bag rested cross-body. Liam picked up my backpack. All three of us pulled a suitcase, which turned out to be a good idea, even though I didn't really want others touching my stuff.

Fans were waiting for the boys and Liam and Harry took a little time to talk to them. I waited, scrolling through my phone, responding to all the missed text messages I had received while asleep. I yawned, more bored than tired. Eventually, the boys finished with the fans and we headed over to security. I had left my pocketknife at home, knowing it would have gotten confiscated. I would just buy a new one while in London or wherever we were going.

Once through security, the boys took my suitcases and backpack to where they would be loaded onto the plane. I kept my carry-on. The boys got back 5 minutes before they called for first class passengers to board.

Getting to my seat, I flopped down and strapped myself in. I wasn't sitting next to Liam, nor Harry, and that was fine by me. I turned my phone off and stuck it inside my carry-on, waiting for take-off.

Once we took off and the flight attendant said we could turn on electronic devices, I pulled out my iPod and beats, pressed shuffle, and fell asleep.
