2. Fallout Dinner?

Chapter 2.
Fallout dinner?

I started to put some of my clothes in my new closet when I heard someone call my name,

“Molly! It’s nearly 6 o’clock, go have a shower and put something nice on please!” My mother shouted from downstairs, I didn’t answer but she knew I would go have a shower.

I grabbed my purple towel out from my closet doors, wrapping it around my neck, my brunette hair was already in a bun on the top of my head so I only pinned a few fly-a-ways back and headed to the bathroom.
I turned the handle for the hot water to come out, and it came out instantly, pure clear but hot water. Once I got the water to the temperature I always have liked it, I got in and washed my body, letting the water hit my pale skin, making it turn a pale pinky red colour from the warmth.
I threw water over my face to wake me up a bit more, my hands fumbled for the taps, and eventually found them.

I turned the water to a stop, whipped the access water away from my face, I reached for my towel and dried my body off.

I looked at myself in the
mirror to see emerald eyes staring back at me, my freckles re-appearing from the hotness of the water, and my soft pink lips. I heard too soft bangs on the door, guessed that was mum telling me to hurry up.

“Okay okay!” I say whilst opening the door and heading straight back to my bedroom, shutting the door, and walking straight to my bed, where I had laid out my strapless floral dress and pink heels.

I was sitting at my glass dressing table when
Heard something hit against my window, I shrugged it off thinking a bird must’ve dropped a pebble or something shiny while it flew by, until I heard it again. I got up off of the chair placing my eyeliner down and headed to the doors and opened them wide.

“Finally!” I heard someone say, I looked left, right then down. I saw Angelo standing there with a handful of pebbles, his pink lips spread wide across his face, His black hair gelled back all messily, It kind of looked like Edward Cullen’s hair from the movie ‘Twilight’ his pale skin glistening from the pale sunlight.

“You alright there love?” He asked, my focus regaining, acknowledging his presence again.

“Yes I am perfectly fine” I say smiling, he looked at me and our eyes caught one-another, his yellow eyes engaging with my emerald eyes.
‘Wait he has yellow eyes!” I ask myself,

“Do you wear contacts Angelo?” I ask him, he was staring at the ground like he just had witnessed something horrific.

“Shizza” I heard him curse, I take that as a no?
“Your eye is looking a bit bare there; you should go finish your make-up. Though you don’t need it, Ill see you at 6.” He said then ran to the fence and climbed over.

“What just happened?” I ask myself.

Sitting back down at the dressing table, still confused. I finish the rest of my make-up, gave myself the final okay, put some perfume on then walked out of the room.

It’s been fifteen minutes since I’ve been out of my room and yet mum and I are still waiting for dad. 'He says he wants to look presentable for his first meeting. I still couldn’t get around what happened earlier with Angelo and me. There was something different about him then, especially when I asked him about his eyes. It’s like he didn’t want me to ask him anything at all. It feels odd. And I never get odd feelings.

“Okay the master piece is done” My father says, while coming down the stairs.

“Well this master piece was done 20 minutes ago dad!” I say to him, getting up, and walking out of the door and standing at the end of our driveway waiting for my parents to catch up.

“Lets go!” My father yelled, a bit to loud, Mum and I laughed as some neighbours looked out their windows to see what was going on. We walked on the pavement to the next house to our left, two story, nice and modern.

Before we could get to the front door it opened, and standing there was his parents,
“Mario! It’s a pleasure to see you again!” My dad said, extending his hand, ‘wait what! Again?’ I ask myself, I grabbed mums forearm and pulled her back towards me,

“What does dad mean by again!” I hiss at her, mums expression on her face grew of concern.
“Ill tell you later sweetie!” She said, then escaped from my grasp and went to my father. At this point I was very confused, I walked up the pavement to the front door and smiled.

“I’m Molly!” I say to Mario and his wife.

“It’s nice to meet you Molly! My name is Rosia, but just call me Rosie” Rosia said, and I smiled shaking hands with her,

We finished introducing ourselves, Mario and Rosia welcomed us into their home, the outside looked so modern but the inside is just so old! Old but beautiful.

“Angelo! Our guests are here come down please!” Rosia, Angelo’s mother called out to him, no answer.

“Angelo!” No answer again, “Oh dearie me” His mother said again, she looked worried.
Why is everyone such a worry wart these days?

“Molly dear, could you go up and get Angelo please? It’s the far door on the left” Mario told me, I guess being a guest and I spent some times with Angelo today, I’d go and greet him. I walked up the spiral stair case and down the hall, I came to a door the same colour as mine, I could hear a soft piano behind it, and a voice like an angel, I knocked gently, no answer, I open the door and there sat Angelo playing his Piano and singing.

He turned his head and smiled at me, he motioned his head for me to come to him and sit, so I did.

His fingers glided along the Piano keys, he was restarting the song.

“When I look into your eyes

It's like watching the night sky

Or a beautiful sunrise

Well, there's so much they hold

And just like them old stars

I see that you've come so far

To be right where you are

How old is your soul?

Well, I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up”

He was singing ‘I Wont Give Up” By Jason Mraz
“Sing with me?” He asked, I wanted to protest but for some reason I couldn’t.

And when you need your space

To do some navigating

I'll be here patiently waiting

To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn

Some even fall to the earth

We've got a lot to learn

God knows we're worth it

No, I won't give up

“I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily

I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make

Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use

The tools and gifts we got, yeah, we got a lot at stake

And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend

For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn

We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in

I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not, and who I am

I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up, still looking up.

Well, I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)

God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)

We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)

God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us

Even if the skies get rough

I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up”

We sung in sync and it was nice, it was like our voices melted together, Shortly after every other verse we came to a finish and a small applause came from the doorway.

“Wow, kid’s that is beautiful singing!” Mario exclaimed, I blushed. I hated it when people heard me sing.

“Very beautiful” Mum said, I still was blushing, I didn’t want anyone else making a comment on my singing, but they should be on Angelo’s singing. It was amazing!

“Come on kids, dinner is on the table, go wash up” Rosia told us, Angelo led me to the bathroom, “I didn’t know you could sing!” I told him smiling,

“I knew you could, and you have a very pretty voice Molly” He told me, how did he know I sung? Dad must’ve told him, ofcourse he did.

“Thank, you. But you have a true gift! You can play the piano and sing, like that! It’s amazing!” I say waiting for him at the doorway of the bathroom,
he laughed and led me down into the dinning room.

There were two empty chairs next to each other, obviously for us, we walk around the table and take our seat, and Angelo took charge of saying grace before we started to eat.

There was so much food it isn’t funny, there is an amount of food that could feed an army, I was full after my first serving, Mario looked and me and laughed.

“Keeping room for dessert Molly?” He asked me.

“What there’s more?” I ask surprised, I honestly couldn’t fit anything else in my stomach. The entire table burst into laughter, but I don’t see what’s so funny,

“Yes there is more Molly” Angelo said whipping his face with a napkin,

“I honestly can’t fit anymore in!” I say with a small hiccup afterwards. Everyone cracked up in laughter once again.

We sat there laughing for a few minutes, I could see something shimmering up the stairs, It was bright but no one else could see it,

“Please excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom” I say, whipping my face with the napkin, and trekking up the stairs, I couldn’t see the light anymore, now I am really curious, I turn around to go back downstairs when I see someone from the corner of the mirror on the wall, I turned around and saw someone move into Angelo’s bedroom, I panicked and screamed.

I ran downstairs and told them someone was up there walking the second floor, addmediatly after saying that Mario and Rosia raced up the stairs to check it out.

“Ill get the desserts,” Angelo whispers to my parents then disappearing.
Shortly after Angelo arrived back to the dinning room with a tray of pudding’s in nice glass bowls, and Mario and Rosia came back downstairs.

“Well did you catch the person?” My mother spoke clearly, a little anxiety in her voice,

“No, there was no one there. We checked every room, no one was there” Rosia spoke, I stood there surprised, my father and mother turned back to me, my fathers face full of disgust and my mother a bit of disappointment.

“You trying to ‘cause trouble Molly?” My dad spoke, anger and lust in his voice.

“You really think I’d be faking something like that dad?” I ask him, I could feel a stinging sensation coming from my eyes, but to hell I was going to cry.

“Yes I do!” He said standing up, “Ever since we told you that we were moving, you have caused nothing but trouble Molly!” He said again, I couldn’t believe it. I did nothing for years for them! I wasted my holidays to be with them and family, which never ended up by coming.

“Maybe if you told me why we had to move I wouldn’t be like I am! You know I hate secrets! It’s like you didn’t even want me. It’s like you want me to disappear! Well dad Ill make it easier for you!” I say,

I get up and face Angelo and his family, I mouthed ‘sorry’ and ran out the front door, I took my shoes off, and threw them into the front windows of our new house and ran into the forest.

I could feel tears coming out of my eyes, my vision going blurry, my feet were throbbing, and I must’ve stepped on a lot of bindies, twigs and rocks. I’ve been running for what has felt like an hour, but I know I haven’t, I slowed down and started to walk so I could catch my breath, I could feel the earths ground getting moist, damp and cold, my head was pounding and I couldn’t see anything.
It’s pitch black, freezing cold, and I’m in a dress. And to help my situation my head was pounding.

Next thing I know everything has just gone black and I could feel a twigs and mud underneath me, then I couldn’t remember anything.

I could feel something freezing wash up on my body with every breeze of wind that hit me. It was cold. I was numb and sore, and then I must’ve blacked out. Because next thing I know I was in someplace warm, with a beeping noise.

It hurt to move, the beeping noise was getting louder, I could hear mummers in the background, and all I could manage to do was cough.
And all I could feel that was coming out of my mouth was liquid.
