Our Love Story

Princess Bethany and her sister, Princess Sophie have the definition of a perfect life according to everyone else but themselves. But when Bethany falls for Harry and Sophie falls for Niall from One Direction, will they be able to keep the peace, or will a huge family feud erupt, causing problems throughout the kingdom?

“He’s so perfect…” I sighed into Bethany’s ear, making her giggle.

“How do you think I feel about Harry?”

“Do you think mom and dad will let us add them to the party list?”

“Who said they had to know?” Bethany winked at me and I started to smile.

“Won’t they know who it is once they walk in though?”

“Everyone is wearing masks…no one will know who anyone is.”

“Wait so…how are we supposed to find them?” I asked, making Bethany freeze. She turned around only to see the guys completely gone.

“Shit…I’ll find some way to tell Harry.”

“I hope so…I need my Niall time.” Bethany giggled and shook her head.

“Come on…we still need costumes.” We walked into our tailors shop and they greeted us happily.

“How are you girls?!”

“Were good.” I answered.

“What can we do for you today?”

“The annual masquerade ball is in a couple weeks and we need our dresses.” Bethany said.

“Of course! Please, step up on the stools, each of you. Do you know what colors you want, or did your parents pick a theme?”

“The theme is black and white.” Bethany pointed out.

“Alright so…Bethany, all white since you’re our elegant girl, and Sophie…black and white since you aren’t quite as old as Bethany.”

“Whatever you think is best.” I whispered.

“We can do that.” We both smiled as they went to work on our dresses.

“I can’t wait to see our dresses!” Sophie said happily as we walked into the shop to pick up the dresses for the ball. The ball was two days away and we still had to get our dresses and add the boys to the guest list. We wanted to wait until the last minute so we knew our parents wouldn’t be looking at it after we added their names.

“Welcome back! I just sent Clara to the back to get your dresses.” We both smiled and sat down on the couches while we waited for our dresses.

“Here we are…” Clara said, walking back in. Maria walked over and put them on my parents’ card. She carried them out to the car and hung them up on the inside. Afterwards, we started the ride home.

“Maria…I was wondering if you could do me a favor.” I asked.

“What kind of favor, darling?”

“Do you believe in arranged marriages?” Maria laughed and shook her head.

“Darling, I believe you should marry for love.” I smiled, knowing Maria was the perfect person to do this task. “Why do you ask, child?”

“I like someone else…” Maria froze and looked at me and Sophie.

“Do you too?” Maria asked Sophie, who slowly nodded. “And of course you can’t tell your parents. What do you want me to do?”

“We need you to get a message to them…” I said quietly.

“Why don’t we drop it off now?”

“I can’t have anyone other than you knowing about this…”

“As you wish, Princess Bethany.” I nodded and sat back.

“I’ll write the note and give you the name and address so you can get it to him before the ball.”

“I shall deliver it tonight when I go on my food shopping run.”

“Thank you Maria!” Sophie and I cried as we flung our arms around her. Maria laughed and shook us off.

“But girls…you can’t get caught, and if I was to get caught I could be severely punished.”

“We will take all blame.” Sophie and I said together.

“Alright dears’; I’m only doing this because I love you both and I don’t agree with what your parents are doing.

“Thank you!” We cried again as we pulled past the palace gates. The door was opened for us and we climbed out of the car as Maria grabbed the dresses.

That night, I was sitting in my room trying to figure out the best way to word the letter I wanted Maria to deliver.

Dear Harry,

I forgot to mention this when we met a couple weeks back in town. We will all be wearing masks and I don’t know how I’ll recognize you since the dress code is black and white. Meet me at the center of the dance floor around 11. I can’t wait to see you there.

P. Bethany ~

I signed the letter, put it in an envelope and walked down to Maria’s chambers. I knocked on the door and waited for it to be opened.

“Come in, child.” Maria said. I walked in and sat down on her bed. “What is it?”

“I have the letter I need you to deliver.”

“Great- does it have the address on it?” I nodded as I handed it to her. Maria nodded and kissed my head. “Wonderful; I will get this to…?”

“Tell whoever opens the door it’s from Bethany, and they’ll know who it goes to.”

“Okay…sounds like a plan. Goodnight darling.”

“Goodnight; thank you again.” I walked out of the room and to Sophie’s room so we could sneak into the office and add the boys’ names to the list.

“Ready?” I asked, walking in. Sophie nodded slowly and stood up.

“I’m nervous, but I’m ready.” I nodded as we slowly walked out into the corridor. We looked both ways before making our way to the stairs to get to the very bottom floor. Once we got to the hallway where the office was, we tip-toed down the hall and slowly opened the door.

Once we were in, we started searching for the guest list. Once we found it, we copied dad’s handwriting the best we could, added the boys’ names, put the list back, and ran out before we got caught.

“That was scary…” Sophie gasped once we were back in her room safely.

“Yeah well…at least it’s done.” Sophie nodded and I went through the door attaching our rooms to get to mine. I fell on my bed and slowly drifted off to sleep. Hopefully, no one would notice the change, and Harry would get the note. Hopefully.
