12. Chapter 10

I feel strange walking through the school hallways again. Summer is done, a new school year begins. My last school year. I turn eighteen in seven months, and Harry turns eighteen in five months. He looks at me as I unbuckle my seatbelt.

"Ready?" He asks. I look at him, thinking of how last year I didn't even acknowledge him. Now, if I was apart from him for even a day I'd miss him more than anything. I bite my lip, nervous to go into that school. But, hey, this is my twelth year, so this is my last first day of school.

I still don't respond, since I don't have a good answer.

"Bazinga!" Is all I say as I jump out of the car.

"Bazinga?" He laughs as he takes his hand in mine.

"Harry, I want to wait to tell everyone." We let go of hands, kiss for the last time, and then seperate. I wave to a disappointed face, not that I blame him for being disappointed. My face probably looks the same. My phone rings, so I reach in my purse and play a game of Hide and Seek. I finally get in and reach up to my ear. "Hello?"

"Hey, Love." Harry's cheeky voice says into the speaker.

"Hey, good looking." I tease.

"I miss you already, Beautiful." He says, getting more cheeky by the second.

"I bet I miss you more, Sweets." I can tell where this is going.

"Shall we have a contest to see who can stand it the most?" He suggests.

"I'd love to beat your backside, sure."

"Excuse me? What was that?"

"Oh, nothing."

"That's what I thought." He sounds pleased with himself.

"Ok, bye, Babe."

"Love you, Love." I can tell he's getting cheeky again. Just stop it, you flirt. I say in my mind.

"Why are you so-so irresistable?"

"Have I won?"

"No, no. What's the prize?"

"Hmm." He thinks. "The winner gets to choose."

"Sounds good. Love you!"

"Love you too, Gorgeous."

We disconnect. I turn off my phone and walk into the school, determined to win this.

"Let's do this poo." I say as I walk in.

"Miss Rogers!" The teach wakes me up from a wonderful dream. I slowly look at his face, but don't make eye contact.

"Sorry." I mumble.

"Are we interrupting you, Miss Rogers?" The teacher dares me to respond.

"Yes, actually. From a deserving sleep." I say without thinking. He looks shocked. "I am so sorry. I'll shut my mouth right now." I say, apologizing like a mad man. He looks at me, deciding.

"You are on grace for the first day. If I see that behavior again it's straight to the office with a detention."

"Yes, sir."

I look over and see Harry, hand clenched. I can tell he doesn't like how I got treated just now.

"Mr. Styles, would you answer this question?"

Harry doesn't respond.

"Mr. Styles, the question is: Why is it important to keep calm?" Harry looks up.

"Because all the normal people want to-" The following fifty words are shocking, so shocking that I can't even think about them. My mouth hangs open, as does the teacher's. He just points to the door. Harry gets his stuff. I can't let him go alone, can I?

"Mr. Goodlet, leave the h-" I too say something he doesn't like so that I can go to the office. Harry looks at me, shocked that I would get in trouble on purpose.

"What was that about?" I say as I push Shelby against a locker, forcing her to be sandwiched.

"I couldn't just let you get in trouble because of me!"

"Well it sure as hell didn't help!"

"Harry, cool your jets!" She says. But I'm too mad at her for being stupid.

"Don't tell me to freaking cool anything!"

"Harry. Calm down. You're hurting me." She tries to say calmly.

"Tell me why you did that!"

"You don't deserve to know!"

"Yes, I do!" I say, not releasing my grip on her arms.

"Fine! If you must know, it's because I already missed you!"

I start to calm down.

"I already missed you." She repeats.

"You did?" I say, a little surprised.

"Yes. And right now I miss the circulation in my arms!"

I let go of her arms and look down both sides of the hallway. I lean in and kiss her.

"Harry, you just lost." She laughs.

"Who cares?" I say as I pull away, taking her hand as I do.

"Well, I guess nobody." She smiles and locks her arm with mine. We walk down the hallway like this. Past the classrooms with kids looking out at us, past the teachers shaking their heads, and past the principle, who pulls us in his office. Oops...
