11. Chapter ten

CAMERON'S P.O.V.

I started walking home, and I heard Riley close her door. After she had invited me to come in to her house, I wanted to say yes, but I knew I couldn't. I had to go home with Adam. We needed each other now more than ever. But, God, I wanted to stay with her. I wanted to be with her forever. I wanted to hug her and never let go of her. I could stay hours, days, weeks, looking at her olive green eyes, non-stop. There was something mysterious about her that made me go crazy. Even though I knew her well enough to tell that I loved her, I knew that she was full of secrets, and I knew that I would never get tired of finding each one of them out.

On my walk home, I reminisced about how it had all started, about her first day at Sweet Café. I considered it, and realised it wasn't coincidence. Nothing ever is. It was all fate, everything happens for a reason. And I know were born to be together.

I finally got home and Adam was sitting on the couch in the living room, watching TV and eating ice-cream. I sat down next to him, he looked at me and half-closed his eyes.

"Why are you smiling so much?" He asked, then I realised I had been smiling since I kissed Riley.

"Nothing," I sang.

"Hm..." He doubted a little and then continued. "I don't buy it," he finally said.

"Well, then don't," I said still smiling. I just couldn't stop, not that I wanted to. I stood up and headed to the kitchen to grab something to eat. I found some grapes and started eating them as I walked back to the couch.

"Hey, dad called," he notified me.

"What did he say?" I asked carelessly.

"He'll be staying at the hospital tonight," he answered looking at the TV. "He'll be back tomorrow morning to get changed, so he needs us to be there at 9:30."

"Sure," I agreed. I took another grape and bit it, took my shoes off and lifted my feet to the couch. After I finished them, I leaned my head on the cushion next to me and fell asleep.

RILEY'S P.O.V.

After Grandma walked into the kitchen I smiled at her and rolled my eyes. I walked to where she was and leaned my back on the fridge. She looked at me and then looked away, looking nervous. She was putting a few groceries she had bought into the larder, then she looked at me.

"What?" She asked distractedly.

"Oh, nothing," I lied, hoping she wouldn't believe it. "What did you do today?"

"You know," she answered, "I picked Lily up, we went for lunch, then went back to her house and chatted with his husband and her children and grandchildren."

"Sounds like you had a fun day," I said.

"Yes," she replied with a little anxious laugh.

We both went upstairs, each one to their own room, after saying goodnight. I put up my PJs, brushed my teeth and turned on the TV. And before I knew it I was deeply asleep.

After I woke up the next morning, I heard my phone buzz in the nightstand next to my bed. I grabbed it still with my eyes closed and opened them to see that Cameron had texted me.

"Hey babe"

"Hello :)" I texted quickly.

"You wanna hang out?"

"Sure!"

"Great. Pick you up at 12"

"Wait! I forgot about it, i was gonna hang out with zoey and kurt"

":(" he texted, which made me kind of sad.

"I'll tell them you'll join us"

"Sure?"

"Of course! They really liked you"

"Ok :D"

I got out of bed and dialed Zoey's number. After she answered I explained that Cameron would be hanging out with us.

"Oh my God, sure!" She yelled, sounding a little excited. "I'll tell Kurt," she added.

"Alright, see you later," I said, then we hung up. I walked down the stairs, went to the kitchen and found a note that said "Went to buy more groceries, see you later. Grandma xx". I smiled at it and opened the fridge to grab some milk, then to the larder to get cereal, and then to the little door next to the sink and took out a bowl, to have a delicious homemade... Cereal with milk. I laughed at myself, sat on the couch in the living room and turned the TV on.

About 20 minutes later, someone knocked on the door. I sighed, put my bowl on the table and went to get it. To my surprise, I saw this really cute boy in front of me, dark brown wavy hair and emerald eyes.

"Hello!" He said.

"Hi," I said smiling,

"I'm new here, I just moved to rhe house on the other side of the street," he explained.

"Oh, nice to meet you, I'm Riley," I said enthusiastically.

"I'm Cody," he said smiling from ear to ear.
