6. Chapter five

He had actually said I was pretty. Though, I didn't want to show it. But how can someone hide so much happiness? I realised that Cameron was blushing and he turned around. I walked towards him and told him I was sorry. When the popcorn was ready, we walked back to the living room, I turned off the lights, and we sat back on the couch. I felt the need to hold his hand, so I did, and, I can't lie, I started feeling butterflies in my stomach.

After the movie ended, we were still holding hands. I offered the guys something to eat, but they all said they had to get home. Zoey and Kurt left, leaving me and Cameron alone.

"I'd better get going," he said.  I didn't want him to go, but I couldn't tell him that.

"Ok," I sighed.

We walked towards the door, and he stared at my eyes as I stared at his.

"I had a good time," he finally said.

"I also had a good time," I admitted. Then he hugged me and I hugged him back.

We let go, and thought it would be a good idea if he took a cab.

"Take a cab home," I said.

"Nah, I'll walk," he said carelessly.

"Ok, but call me when you get home," I said preocuppied, suggestion to which he agreed.  I opened the door for him.

"Bye," he said smling, and I waved at him.

I closed the door and sighed.

When Zoey and Kurt were leaving, I wanted to stay. But I didn't want to bother her grandma. So I just said I had to get home. We were standing next to the door. Damn, I wanted to kiss her so bad. I was going to, but something stopped me. I just couldn't do it. "Maybe next time," I said to myself.

"I had a good time," I said breaking the silence.

"I also had a good time," she said with a cute smile.

I didn't want to leave empty handed, so I hugged her, and soon I felt her arms tighten around me. I smiled. Then we let go.

"Take a cab home," she suggested.

"Nah, I'll walk," I replied.

"Ok, but call me when you get home," she said concerned, and I nodded. Then she opened the door, and I walked out saying

She waved at me and then closed the door. I had a lot of time to think about her. My house wasn't very far, though, but it took about 15 minutes to get there on foot.

I was walking home, smiling like an idiot. But I started wondering why I hadn't kissed her. Maybe lack of courage, it had to be it, because I really liked her. In fact, I loved her. I loved her to death.

I finally got home, and greeted my parents and my brother. I walked upstairs and cloes ,y bedroom door. I grabbed my phone and dialed Riley's number.

"Hello?" She asked with a lovely voice.

"I'm home," I sang.

She chuckled, "I'm glad," she answered.

"You know, on my way home I was wondering..." I stopped.

"Mhm?" She asked a little confused.

"Maybe," I continued, "you'd like to hang out tomorrow?" I asked.

"That would be lovely!" She said excited.

"Great!" I said. "I'll pick you up at your place."

I wasn't sure if this was a date. But anyways, I would see her tomorrow.
