7. Chapter 7

Walking down the street, thinking to all the circumstances and situations that has been going on with my life. It kills me physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. I just wish that my life would be over and that’s when the problems would be gone. It’s haunting me, like every problem I have to go through will give me pain first before it goes away. Why can’t I be like those other girls who just stressing about not having cars, lack of makeups, boys, and other things that are nonsense. I like that better than mine. The world is so unfair.

“Oops sorry..” the guy who accidentally bumped at me apologized.

I tried to smile, “it’s okay.” He looks familiar.

“Hey, I know you. You’re from Nicholas High School (just made that up) right?” he pointed his finger at my face.

Should I get a clap because someone’s recognized me? Oh dear.

“Yeah. And in many students in that school, you recognized me huh? That’s bullshit.” I rolled my eyes and start to walk.

“ Of course. You’re the girl who got bullied last week.” He followed me.

I stopped walking and looked at him. “Thanks for that. I’m popular now. I have no time for you, bye.” I continue to walk without glaring back at him.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that..” he still following me.

“Yeah. Yeah. In your face. Don’t follow me or else I’ll call the police.”I threatened.

When I felt that no one’s following me, I shrugged and continue to walk. That boy’s a jerk.

“Sorry!” the guy yelled across the street. He’s totally really a jerk. I didn’t look back, he might think that I wanna talk to him if I did.

I noticed the sky is almost dark. I checked the time of my watch and it’s 5:30 in the afternoon. I have to walk fast to mom’s restaurant, I’m hungry. She texted me that she want me to go to her job to taste their food, she said it’s out- of- this- world. Nah. I have to check first.

I left my dad in the house sleeping. He didn’t feel that I left him, he’s a sleeping dormant oil.

The bell rang when I opened the entrance door in the restaurant, warning that someone was just came. The walls are painted with red checkered color. There are some chairs which places at the counter and the other tables and chairs are placed beside in the mirrored walls. It look like a pizza parlor, not a resto. I looked everywhere, hoping that I could see mom but unluckily, she’s not here.

I walked to the counter to request the caked makeup woman with huge breast and red haired if she go inform my mom that I’m here.

“No. not allowed.” She just walked out and talk to other customers. What a rude bitch this bitch!

“Sarah!” I heard my mom’s voice behind me. I faced her and hugged her. Her uniform looks messy.

“Mom, why your uniform’s like that?” I touched the hem of her uniform.

She motioned her hands like it’s alright, “Don’t worry, our boss said that someone important person will come later.” We walked to one of the tables.

We sat in chorus, me facing her and she facing me. “Like how many percentage their important?” I teased.

“Honey. Don’t like that. Maybe it’s the president?” She grinned.

“Yeah right. And mom, this resto looks not like a real resto, it looks like a pizza parlor.” I whispered.

“Hey, that’s rude.” She slightly yelled while smiling. “But I thought that also when i’m new here..” she laughed.

“Haha told you, mom.” I chuckled.

“Good thing you smile now. I’ve missed that.” She hold my hand and gave me a sweet look.

“I just smile when I’m with you.. You’re the only person who understands me.” I sneered.

“Aw that’s sweet of you. Can you do that everyday?” she asked.

“Only if you’re with me always.” I glared at the mirrored wall seriously.

“You know I can’t do that.” She shook her head.

I shrugged, “Then why always smile when my fairy Godmother’s not around?”

“Ya know someone’s standing there waiting for you to approach him or her. You don’t notice because you don’t care about the people who cared for you except me.” She winked.

“I’m hungry..” I said sarcastically.

“And that’s my point. Wait there, I’ll go grab some.” She stood up and walked to the kitchen.

I think of the words what my mom told me before, what if there’s no one waiting? Should I have to depend on what my future will take me? Ugh I don’t want to hope or wait, I can take care of myself, nobody’s gonna ever change my life whether they like it or not. They’re just a waste of time.

“Here it is!” she cooed.

I stare at the pizza plate she’s holding. It’s been years since I tasted that kind of food. I got insecure of my body when I first saw my skinny classmates when I moved to my school and that was when I first ate a candy every morning and self- vomiting in case I ate a lot of food. It gives me self insecurity.

I stare blankly to my mom when she sat, “Mom..”

“What’s wrong honey? This is your favourite pizza flavour since you were born. Eat this, don’t be shy, it’s free.” She smiled.

“I can’t mom..” I looked down.

“Why not?” she looked at me for a minute and that’s when she realised that I’m starving myself. “You can’t starve yourself honey, that is bad and unhealthy.” She said calmly.

“I know mom. It’s just… I want to be skinny like the other girls.” I pouted.

“No. You’re beautiful what size or how small you are, honey. Don’t let your pride eat your personality, it’s just a physical image but the inside is the special and beautiful.” She changed her seating arrangement and sat beside me. She rubs my back and I put my head down to her shoulder.

“But in this generation, physical contact is important.” I mumbled.

“So much drama. Come on let’s eat! It’s still hot. Don’t mind them.” She sliced the pizza and ate the big one.

“You’re a cheater! I should ate that first!” I slammed her shoulder lightly.

Too cheesy for this chapter! Haha :D
