Save Phoenix

Hello, I'm Phoenix, a 16 year old teenager, who's a secret spy thanks to my father. I never knew my mother, and my father died whilst he saved me in a mission. To make this more interesting, there is a mission named 'Save Phoenix' and here is the story on how Thor, Zach and I complete the mission.

6. Save Phoenix Chapter 6

Fuck.

“My services won’t be needed anymore? Are you out of their mind? How will you hack and do some stuff that only I did? Who cares if someone wants me dead? Keeping me away from what I like is not going to save me!” I said flipping the papers on the table.

“Phoenix.” George said. “Please listen.”

“NO!” I shouted. “You listen! Are you trying to protect me? Is that the reason why you put me living with Bradford instead with one of you?” I asked mad and they nodded. “Don’t be stupid!”

“How are we being stupid?” Albert asked.

“Really?” I asked with a chuckle and they nodded. “By trying to keep me away from the spotlight. Yes you might protect me, but they, whoever is behind me, will know why you are doing it. I know they killed my mother. I’m not stupid. And there is no way in hell that I will give you the password to enter the attic.”

“Pho!” Zach shouted.

“You know.” Mark said. “So do you Zach.”

“Dad I-” Zach started nothing.

“Why did you lie?” George asked facing me.

“Why wouldn’t I? It’s not like you would have told me anything either.”

“Phoenix Blair.” Mark said. “This is an important mission. Whoever is behind you, is behind the-“

“Nuclear stopper my dad invented.” I finished. “Yes I know that. I know they are dangerous, but you can’t keep me away.”

“Well discuss it and let you know.” Mark said. “And as for you Zach, you will be out the same time Phoenix is.”

“Why sir?” Zach asked.

“To protect you as well.” Mark answered.

“One more thing.” I said stopping before the door. “I am not doing the tests.”

I left the facility and went over to the park to clear my mind. I know that telling them wasn’t the best idea I have ever had, but if I didn’t I would have gotten myself and Zach in so much trouble. I pretty much don’t care getting myself in trouble, but Zach, I wouldn’t risk his career.

My alarm blasted the first verse of B.Y.O.B. by System of a Down. I rolled over and turned it off.  I went over to the bathroom, took a bath and got ready to go to school. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=77901376)

I walked downstairs and didn’t eat breakfast but left to school in a rush.

I decided to take the most dangerous route I could find, which was the shortest way. I was beyond late for school.

I was crossing the road with my skateboard when an idiot decided to skip the stop sign and hit me with his freaking car. I threw myself out of the skateboard but landed in such a weird pose that I hurt my arm. When I say hurt, it was opened and you could see the bone inside it.

“OH MY GOD!” the dude from the car said as he climbed down. “I did not see you.”

“That’s kinda obvious.” I said trying not to show any sign of weakness by crying.

“What happened?” I heard another voice said. “Did you already call 911?”

“No.” The car dude answered. “I don’t have a phone with me.” he answered running back to his car.

“Phoenix?” the other dude said.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Thor.” the dude said. “We have Chemistry together.”

“Dude.” I said. “Right now don’t ask me to remember about shit, I’m about to faint.”

Black.

“She’s stabilized.” I heard a male voice say. “She lost a lot of blood, but don’t worry Mr. Bradford, by tomorrow she will be able to go back home.”

“What did you do to her arm?” Bradford asked.

“I had to operate.” the doctor said.

“And she is allowed to leave tomorrow?” Bradford asked.

“Yeah…” the doctor answered unsure.

“No. She is leaving until that thing is out of an infection risk.” Bradford said mad.

“You do know that it has an infection risk until they take the stitches out.” I said sitting up.

“Phoenix sweetie!” Bradford exclaimed. “How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine.” I answered. “Did I break something?”

“No.” the doctor answered. “Only the operation and some other stitches on your left ankle.”

“So I can leave tomorrow?” I asked.

“Yes.” the doctor answered.

“That is cool by me.” I said and felt dizzy. “Bucket.” I said before turning my face to the side of the bed and puke.

“She’s not leaving tomorrow.” Bradford said.

“Not anymore.” the doctor said leaving with Bradford.

I was left alone with nothing to do and with no one to talk with. It was school time and I was sure that Zach would be here the minute he found out. I was about to sleep again when the door opened.

“Phoenix.” a nurse said. “You have a visitor.”

“Who?”

“Thor, the boy who brought you in.” the nurse said and let Thor in.

“Hey.” Thor said walking closer. “I found your skateboard. It’s broken in half, sorry about that.”

“At least that is broken in half and not me.”

”How’s your arm?” Thor asked. “It looked pretty nasty when you fainted.”

“It doesn’t hurt, yet. And yeah… I’m fine.”

“I’m sorry about your dad.” Thor said. “They are still trying to find who leaked the information.”

“How do you know that?”

“I work there too.” Thor answered. “Well, my brother George actually.”

“George is your brother?!”

“Yes.”

“He’s dead meat.”
