Save Phoenix

Hello, I'm Phoenix, a 16 year old teenager, who's a secret spy thanks to my father. I never knew my mother, and my father died whilst he saved me in a mission. To make this more interesting, there is a mission named 'Save Phoenix' and here is the story on how Thor, Zach and I complete the mission.

A tale of trust, lost, and some weird-ass mutation...

5. Save Phoenix Chapter 5

I’m sorry to tell you this, but your services as a spy won’t be necessary anymore…

I opened my eyes, and realized that was some kind of sick dream I just had. I hate dreams. They bring memories that are meant to be deleted from my life. And what makes it worst is that I daydream, an awful lot.

I turned to check my watch, 7:15am, well I better get up and get ready for school.  (

I went down to have breakfast and some information on what was going to happen in my life now.

“Good morning Phoenix.” Albert said while he served me some pancakes.

“Morning.” I answered. ” May I ask you something?”

“About my wife?” Albert asked and I nodded. “Divorced, she lives in New York.”

“Yes.” Albert said. “How did you go to school?”I would skate. Why?”

“Oh well, is that James takes his car to school. And he could take you as well.”

“I would what?” James asked entering the kitchen.

“Take Phoenix with you to school.” Albert answered.

“I guess since she now lives here.” James said.

“You don’t have.” I answered. “I’ll take my skateboard as always.” I added standing up and going up to my room to brush my teeth and leave to school.

“Ms. Blair.” the principle said as I entered the school building. “I am really sorry for your lost.”

“Thanks.” I answered.

“If you wish you can take this week off.”

“No thanks sir. I would like to continue with my life.”

“As you please.” He said and left to his office.

I kept walking to my locker and people keep telling me they were sorry about the death of my father, that he didn’t deserved it. As if they knew the truth…

The classes were okay, nothing new that I already didn’t know, I was ignoring James just like always, ignoring the ‘populars’ and well, living the life I hated the most, pretending that I was nothing more than trouble.

Finally the lunch bell rang and went over to the cafeteria. Zach was supposed to meet me at our same table. And it was only me and him, nobody else, although he had a lot of other friends.

“How’s school so far?” Zach asked taking a seat in front of me.

“Boring as always.” I answered. “Though the principle told me to take a week off if I wanted too.”

“I’m guessing you decided to stay.”

“Excuse me.” I heard James said as he stood next to the table. “But I was wondering if you would two would like to eat with my group of friends today.”

“Why are you trying to be nice?” I asked.

“I’m not trying to be nice.” James answered. “One of my friends finds you cute and wants to know you.”

“Well, I’m sorry, but I won’t move.” I answered.

“I’m not leaving her alone.” Zach said. “You can go and tell your friend that if he wants to know Pho, he better make the move.”

“Fine.” James said. “Keep being a loser.” he added before leaving our table.

“What are you doing after school?” Zach asked.

“I have to go to the facility so they can examine my mind.”

“I’ll go with you. I have to see if there is any report on the mission we have in two days.”

“Good luck with that.” I said. “I’m not going to be hacking with you this time.”

“Damn.” Zach said. “It is true.”

“Names.” the security guard said.

“Agent Blair.” I siad. “Agent Phoenix Blair.”

“Agent Zachary Toms.” Zach answered.

“Agent Toms and Blair.” he said. “Welcome back, they are expecting both of you.”

Zach and I walked next to each other towards the conference room. There was something in the atmosphere that I didn’t like, but as my dad taught me, fight for what you want.

“Nix!” George said hugging me.

“Agents.” I said nodding towards the rest of the agents.

“Zach. Phoenix.” the agents said in chorus.

“Do you know why were you called in here?” Mark asked.

“Yes.” I answered. “Because you are going to tell me that I need to do some psychological tests, and I won’t be doing mission for the next three months.”

“No.” Zach answered.

“Well you are right Nix.” Mark said. “Do you know why aren’t you going to be working for the next three months?”

“Because you think that I might have some sort of a trauma of some sort and ruin the mission.”

“Uh-” George started.

“It’s obvious for people to think like that.” I said. “But I can assure you that I have no trauma and I will never have one.”

“There is another reason.” Albert said.

“Have you ever heard of the words ‘Save Phoenix’?” Mark asked.

“No.” I lied.

“You Zach?” Mark asked.

“No sir.” Zach lied.

“Well then, please watch this video.” George said, showing a video of how my dad was working on the mission I just found out of.

“Someone is out there trying to kill me?” I asked.

“Yes.” Mark responded. “And that is why I’m sorry to tell you this, but your services as a spy won’t be necessary anymore.
