4. Chapter Four

*A few weeks later*

Jasmin woke up in her room. She looked around, Jasmin loved her new room. Jasmin started school tomorrow, she was so nervous. She decided to go outside today and try to make friends.

Jasmin walked out of her room and into the kitchen. Emily showed her where everything was, so Jasmin made herself some cereal. While she was eating, she turned on the TV. The news came on. Her parent death was on the TV.

Jasmin watched intensely. She had no idea what happened, but she knew her parents were dead. "Kaycee Winters and Bradley Winters were pronounced dead on year ago. Their now seven-year-old daughter, Jasmin Winters, survived and was soon adopted by her nurse, Emily Stone. Today marks the anniversary of her parents death. There will be a candle-light service in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart in Kingston, Michigan, at 6 pm to 10 pm. Our prayers go out to Jasmin." A reporter said.

Jasmin sat there bewildered. Her eyes were wide open, tears started to fill them. Emily walked out of her room, on the phone with someone. "Okay. Okay. Yes. Yes, we'll be there. 6 pm? Alright. Thank you, bye." Emily hung up her phone. Jasmin quickly wiped her tears away, she didn't want Emily to be sad.

"Alrighty! Well, today, I think you should go outside and play! Maybe make some new friends! I bet you'll make so many! We'll go to the park! Go get dressed Jazz." Emily said smiling. Jasmin smiled and ran into the bathroom to get ready.

Jasmin put on her favorite pair of jeans, and her princess shirt. Then she put on her comfiest pair of tennis shoes. She put her black hair into a ponytail, with a red ribbon Emily gave her. She looked in the mirror. Her hazel eyes were a bit red from tearing up. She grabbed a tissue and wiped her eyes. "Time to make some friends." Jasmin said with a smile. She came out of the bathroom and saw Emily was ready.

She was wearing skinny jeans, a gray sweatshirt, and black flats. Her blonde hair was also pulled into a ponytail with a red ribbon. "Ready Jazz?" She asked. Jasmin smiled, "Ready."
