She's Not Afraid {Part of the Summer Love Series}

Little Darcy Anne Styles isn't so little any more. She's a fifteen year old girl trying to have a normal since her father is one of the five members of One Direction. Will she ever get the kind of life that she wants? (Might be smart to read Summer Love and Still the One to get a better idea of what's happening.)

9. Your Last First Kiss

      I sat in the uncomfortable chair as the beauty department did my hair and make-up. All of the One Direction crew was doing an interview to clear up rumors and to promote the tour. I was dressed in a skirt with giraffes on it with a pink long sleeved crop top. "You look beautiful babe," Mum smiled. "Thanks Mum," I smiled back. I looked in the mirror to see how everything was going so far. The front section of my hair was pinned in the back with a white bow. "D?" Aunt Perrie asked, knocking on the door. "Come in!" She opened the door with a smile on her face. "Mark wanted me to give this to you" she told me as she handed me a bag. I opened it to see a bow necklace and a wrap ring that said "Not all who wander are lost". I put them on then told Aunt Perrie to tell him that I said thank you. After a few finishing touches, I went to wait to be interviewed. Harry had been trying all week to get me to talk to him but he hasn't been successful. "Darcy, do you want a muffin?" he asked. "No thanks Harry." I went to talk to Sasha since she looked lonely. While I was talking to her, I heard footsteps come behind me. "Do you like what I got you?" Mark asked. "I love it," I turned around to smile. I talked to them until we got called to go to our spots. The parents were up first to be interviewed. "Darcy? Do you mind watching James for me?" Brooke asked. "No problem," I smiled. The kids were guided to a area with seated so we watch the interview.

     After the parents had their interview, it was each individual family. I sat in between Harry and Mason. "So what's it like being Harry Styles' children?" the interviewer asked us. "It has it's ups and downs," I answered for my siblings. "Now Darcy, do you think you have a normal life?" "I try and think that but I honestly don't. At home, we're just one big family but when we're in public we're the family of international popstar Harry Styles." "How do you feel about the rumors that go around about you and your family?" I knew exactly he was talking about but I played dumb. "It's kind of like high school but on a bigger scale you know what I'm saying?" The interviewer nodded. "How proud are you of Darcy, taking her team to the championships and winning?" "I'm not the only one on the team," I spoke up. "Without my teammates, we wouldn't have been even close to the championship because you can't go one vs. eleven. If you can win a game like that then fine and dandy but I know that I wouldn't have won it with out my girls." Mum nodded. "I agree with Darcy. She is a good player don't get me wrong but there are also other good players on the team. Now to get back on subject, we were both really proud of her." Harry nodded then patted my head. I playfully slapped his hand away so people wouldn't think that there was drama inside the family. "So Mason, have you used 'I'm the son of a popstar' chat up line yet?" Mase smacked his head. "I haven't thought of that one!" he groaned. "Yeah 'cause that's going to work," I muttered. "Hey you never know!" I rolled my eyes at that statement.

     When the interviews were over and done with, we went to the venue that the boys would be performing at. I was texting Andy to see when about when he would arrive when Mark coughed to get my attention. "So where are you sitting tonight?" he asked. "It depends on where my friend wants to sit," I told him. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" he shyly asked. "If you want to," I smiled. "Thank you," he grinned. I nodded my head as I looked at my phone to see who texted me. "Come get me." Andy texted me. "I'll be right back," I smiled before running to the back parking lot. When I got out there, Andy was arguing with a security guard. "Can you let me in please!" Andy begged. "Darcy invited me. "Oh like I haven't heard that one before," Will, the security guard said. "There you are!" I giggled, walking towards Andy. "He's fine Willie, I promise," I smiled as I grabbed Andy's hand to lead him to the venue. "Well this would have been nice to know," Will yelled "Sorry about that," I apologized. "It's fine," he chuckled. "I like being harassed by security guards." "Oh I bet," I laughed. When we got backstage, I heard a cough. I looked over to see Uncle Louis with a stern look on his face. "Hi Uncle Lou!" I cheered as I let go of Andy's hand. "Hey pumpkin," he smiled. "Who's this?" he nodded towards Andy. "Oh. Louis, this is my friend Andy," I introduce. "Nice to meet you sir," Andy said, putting out his hand. "You too," Louis replied, taking his hand and shaking it. "Louis!" Aunt Eleanor called. "I'll see you two around. Behave," he told us as he walked to where his wife called.

       "Ladies and Gentlemen, One Direction!" the announcer yelled. I was yelling at the top of my lungs while Andy just looked at me. "Hey, I gotta support my family," I yelled before the first song started. When Last First Kiss started to play, I felt an arm wrap around my waist. Out of habit, I looked over at Mark to see both of his arms at his side. I turned my attention over to Andy who had a smirk playing on his lips. I leaned in and he followed. When our lips touched, it seemed like the whole world just vanished. After our lips detached, I looked on stage to see Dad glaring at us. I just smiled and waved. Uncle Zayn leaned over and whispered something. Dad chuckled and pushed him jokingly. "This is probably going to be all over the social media sites soon," I whispered to Andy. "Yeah but it was worth it," he winked. I giggled as I looked over to Mark to see how he was doing but he was gone, causing me to panic. "I'll be right back," I told Andy as I squeezed through the crowd. I found Mark sitting backstage. "What are you doing out here?" I asked playfully. He just looked up at me with his deep brown eyes shining with tears. "It's because of me and Andy isn't it?" He nodded then looked down. "I know how you feel kid," I sighed as I sat next to him. "Heart break sucks and the best way to get over it is eating a tub of ice cream while watching romantic movies or hanging out with your friends." "But Darcy, I love you," he confessed. "I know Mark but some times you get feelings for people who don't feel the same."

     After a couple minutes, the chatter of the boys filled the halls. "You ready?" I asked. He nodded as he stood up. He kindly helped me up. "Darcy Anne!" Dad yelled. "Shit," I muttered under my breath. "Harry Edward!" I called back. "Come here," he demanded. I groaned as I walked over to my dad. "What the hell were you doing?" he asked. "Oh I was talking to Mark," I told him. "During the second to last song dippy," he said. "Well ummmm. Hey don't you need to finish getting ready?" I questioned, trying to change the subject. "You're smart kid," he told me with a wagging finger. "We'll talk about this later." I sighed, knowing that I had dodged a bullet that would be refired soon.

A/N: Sorry it took so long guys. My teachers think it's cool to give another BIG project, a boring ass book, and homework every night plus I go to Little League games that my dad umpires so it looks like I have a social life. Haha. I'll try and post as often as possible :) xxAlexa
