She's Not Afraid {Part of the Summer Love Series}

Little Darcy Anne Styles isn't so little any more. She's a fifteen year old girl trying to have a normal since her father is one of the five members of One Direction. Will she ever get the kind of life that she wants? (Might be smart to read Summer Love and Still the One to get a better idea of what's happening.)

3. The Secret

*Darcy's P.O.V.*

     My alarm went off at six, signalling that I had to get ready for the school day. I groaned as I unlocked my phone to stop the alarm. I slowly got out of bed. I hated mornings. I grabbed my uniform off the hanger then slowly got changed. Slowly, I walked into my bathroom to do my hair and make up. "Darcy! You up?" Mum asked. "Sadly," I yelled back. I gave myself a once over in the mirror before going downstairs to have breakfast. Mason was on his phone probably texting one of his retarded friends while Calley was playing with her toy horses at the table. "Call, what did Mummy tell about playing with your toys at the kitchen table?" I asked. "Not too," she shyly whispered. "Well then don't do it," I told her. She sighed as she got off her chair and put her horses in the play room. "Thank you," I smiled. "You're welcome," she said back. I sat down in between my siblings and waited for the food. After that Mum drove us to school. My friends were waiting outside for me. "Hey guys!" I cheered. "Hey Darc!" they said in unison.

     At my locker,my friend Donna bumped me. "Dude what the hell?" I asked. "Look who's walking this way," she whispered. I looked to see all time hottie Andy Tanner walking to me. "Oh my god!" I whispered to my friends. "Stay calm!" Ashley told me. "Hey guys," he smirked as he walked past us. "H-Hi Andy," I stuttered like a moron. "You're Darcy right?" he asked, pointing at me. I couldn't speak so I just nodded. "Congrats on leading the team to the championship," he smiled. "T-Thanks," I blushed. Normally, I wouldn't take all the credit but if your crush says that you did something, you just roll with it. "You know we should hang out some time," he smirked. "Yeah," I nodded. "What class do you have next?" "Photography." "Do you mind if I walk with you? My class is right across the hall." "Well I usually walk with my friends," I rambled. "We'll be fine D," my other friend Mary smiled. I grabbed my bag then walked with Andy. "So what's it like being Harry Styles' daughter?" he asked, trying to make conversation. "Ehh. It's okay I guess," I shrugged. "So can assume that you're a pretty good singer?" I laughed at the comment. "What?" he asked obviously confused. "I can't sing for the life of me," I giggled. "Now I don't believe that," he smiled. "Well believe it," I smiled. When we were outside the art room, we waved good bye before going our separate ways. "Morning Darcy," Mr. Sheeler greeted. "Hey Mr. S," I smiled. I took my seat and talked to a couple people until the morning announcements started.

     The class went by quickly as usual which I always hated but hey, what can you do about it? Mary and Donna were waiting in the hall for me. "Tell us EVERYTHING!" Mary begged. "Well I got up," I giggled. "About you and Andy moron!" Donna chimed in. "He's really nice," I smiled. "Well speak of the devil," Donna whispered. I looked over to see Andy running his fingers through his hair. He smirked at me so I shyly waved back. His friends jokingly shoved him and he returned the playful gesture. My friends and I continued our way to English. We didn't learn anything a majority of the class because we got our teacher talking about random things. As I was getting my books, somebody closed my locker door. "Hey sexy," my ex Dan smirked. "Hello douche bag," I sighed. "Could you move your hand, I have a class to get to." He just looked me up and down. "I think you've gotten cuter since last year," he winked. "And you're even more of a douche now can you move?" "Oh but babe," he pouted. "Dude, she said move so do it," Ashley intervened. Dan rolled his eyes and walked away. "Thanks," I smiled as I made sure I had everything. We walked to the next class, entering just as the bell rang. During math, I drew random animals. My friend Derek would add random details. After lunch, the class flew by.

     As my teammates and I got ready for practice, we sang Lana Del Ray songs for no apparent reason. My teammate Nikki and I continued the madness on the way to the practice field. Mum was talking to the assistant coaches when we came to the field. "Afternoon ladies," Mum smiled. "Hey," we said in unison. "So half lap around the field then meet in the circle. "Mum are you feeling okay?" I asked walking up to her. "Touch me and you'll run a full lap," she sternly said. "Let's go guys!" I yelled starting to run. my teammate Melissa ran up to the front to talk to me. We came to the circle and sat down. "So as you know, the big game is this weekend," Coach Wagner stated. "We have decided to work on the things that we feel need to be stronger in order to win. So we are going to take you in groups. Ali has defense while Coach Scott and I have everyone else." "Mum! Where do you want me to go?" I asked since I played both positions. "Go with Brad and them," Mum sighed. I nodded as I ran to my group.

     I groaned as I got out of the car. "Oh suck it up Nancy," Mum said. I bit my tongue so I wouldn't say anything I didn't want to regret. When I limped into the house, I heard my siblings laughing with a booming laugh. "No," I muttered. I peeked my head into the living room to see Dan sitting on my chair. "Hey babe!" he waved. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked. "Am I not allowed to hang out with my friends Mason and Calley?" he asked. "Considering you never liked them, yeah," I replied. "Darcy Anne, be nice to our guests," Mum yelled from the kitchen. If looks could kill, the look I shot Dan would have been a painful death. I limped to the kitchen to see if Mum needed any help. "Can you please tell him to go home for some stupid reason?" I begged. "What happened between you two?" she asked. "You got along great until the summer." "I don't want to talk about it," I quickly said. The only person who knew the truth about me and Dan was Ashley and I want it to stay that way for now. "I hope you know that you're going to tell me at some point," she sighed as she walked to the living room. "Or not," I whispered.
