3. Just a book shop

I need to cool down.  I was told I always had a temper.  Just need to focus on walking away.  Don't want to bring up any memories.  Or the memories I had left.

I stop at this cute little library.  It was a small shop, but it had a lot books.  And it wasn't to far from my flat.  I love to read.  It keeps me sane, way from the real life.

"Hello. Oh love, are you new to England?  I haven't seen you before." The librarian said all at once.

"Hi.  And yes, I just moved here from California." I said with a polite smile while walking around looking for a book to get lost in.

"Well, welcome to England, love.  If you need anything just shout.  I'm Maura."

"Okay Maura, I'm Emily."

"Oh! That's a British name.  Did you know that?"

"No, no I didn't." I answered now in the front of the story hold a random book. "I would like to check this book out. Oh do you mind if I sit and read in here for a while?"

"No, of course love.  This is a book shop."

"Thank you very much Maura." I said while handing her the book.

"Are you done? It's only been an hour."

"Um.. Ya, I guess I read fast. If you don't mind, I'm going to look for another book."

"Dear, why don't we get you a membership."

"Um... I don't think I can afford it. I don't have a job yet." I said with a forced laugh.

"Well why didn't you say so.  I'll give you a job and that way you don't need to pay."

"Really? Thanks."

"Come over here and we will get started. So basically no short that make girls like they don't have anything on.  That goes for your shirt also, but judging from your clothes already, I don't need to worry about that.  Just pick up your name tag that will be right there in that corner.  Just learn the book shop.  I'll be having you put books back and cleaning, with you don't mind."

"Nope, its fine.  When can I start?"

"Well some one is excited to start.  You can start now, I just have to make you a name tag.  Since its just me and now you, your shift starts from ten, in the morning to six with an hour lunch if you want."

"Thank you! Thank you so much." I jumped up and hugged her.

"I have one rule that if you break you are fired at the spot.  If my son comes in, you will not try to get him to date you, signing things is fine, but if he complains to me you are fired."

"Oh, okay.  I don't know who your son is, but I'll make sure it doesn't happen."

I was about to say goodbye when thunder sounded.

"Shh... It's just thunder, hon.  And now its raining."

"Sorry, it just scared me. Well, bye. See you tomorrow!" I waved goodbye.  This was going to be a cool, wet walk back home.

I was just to the corner of the block when I see Maura stop in her car.

"I'll give you a ride back to your flat, if you want."

"YES PLEASE!!  My flat is just up there."

"Oh, that happens to be were I was headed.  My son lives there."

"Thank you for the ride and the job." I said while closing her car door.

I was almost to my flat when I saw Liam pacing back and forth in front of my door.

"Liam? What are doing?"

"Oh Emily! I was so worried!  After you stormed off, I realized that what I said was very rude and out of place.  Then I came back a little while and when you didn't answer your door, I started to get worried. I was about to get Harry to go check on you."

"I'm fine Liam.  It was rude of me to storm off anyway.  I have a slight temper.  But just out of curiosity, why Harry?"

"Oh... I don't know. It just seemed like he was closer to you than any of the lads."

"Okay, thanks."

I unlocked my door and stepped in.  I sighed, I think I like Harry.....
