21. The Problem with Humans

"So it's true, you can see them too." Desmond said. I nodded. "And I meant what I said." I said. Desmond grinned and kissed me. "We need to find Juno and stop her." Desmond said. He grabbed my hand and led me forward. Soon we saw a bright white light coming from the end of the corridor. We headed through into a new room. This room was similar to the other room in many ways, only that there was a massive doorway and this one was shut. "Hold up." Desmond said. He picked up a rock from the ground and threw it at the door. The rock hit the door and disintegrated before our eyes. "Dammit." Desmond swore. "Give me The Shroud." Desmond said. I turned and Shaun pulled out a long piece of cloth. Desmond took it and wrapped it around himself. Then he started to walk right toward the door. "Desmond, what are you doing?" I exclaimed. "You'll see." Desmond said. He stood and then winked at me before passing straight through the door. "The Pieces of Eden can't be destroyed by anything the gods have created." Desmond said from the other side. Then he took off The Shroud and set his hand on the lock on the other side of the door. The door disappeared and we walked through. We found another one of those strange spheres with the cubes on them. "Keep going, Juno must be really deep inside." Desmond said.
