Muggle-Born and Proud

*FINISHED* Lola Xavier thought she was normal. But ever since she was a baby, her family realised there was something strange about her. Whenever she cried, her pacifier came to her. Whenever she was hungry, her bottle would fly across the room. By age three, she was doing everything without using her hands. Now age 11, Lola receives a letter, by no ordinary means of messaging, but by owl, telling her that she was a witch. Lola must be trained in the magical arts, she is given a week. If she can successfully make it through that week, she will be able to continue her magical training, if not, everything goes back to the way it was.

4. Sorted into my House

Lola's POV

I saw a group of people looking at the wall between Platforms 9 and 10, a dark haired man with glasses, a red haired woman, a red haired man, a bushy-haired woman, 3 red haired children, and two dark haired boys. And three of the children had trolleys full of magical items like mine. I walked towards them as the red haired man and his son walked right through the wall.

"Excuse me, are you going to Hogwarts as well?" I asked the younger dark-haired boy.

"Yeah, Rose is going too." he said pointing to one of the red haired girls. They both looked about my age. "My names Albus, by the way." he says put out a hand.

"Lola." I say shaking it. "So how do you get on to the platform?"

"You just have to go through the wall between Platforms 9 and 10, according to dad."

"Is it your first year too?"

"Yeah, together?"

"Okay." We pushed our trolleys so they were lined up with the wall and walked at the wall but when we should have hit solid wall we went right through and onto Platform 9 3/4.

We found Albus's parents and his older brother James, and younger sister Lily. The red haired man was his mother's brother with his wife and daughter Rose, and her younger brother Hugo. I introduced myself and the four of us- Me, Albus, James, and Rose- got on the train together, waving goodbye to Albus and James's parents, and Rose's parents until we couldn't see them anymore.

We awaited the long train ride to Hogwarts and the sorting which, according to James, is the most nerve-racking event in the world. But I think he was messing with us.

After several hours, when it was dark outside and the lanterns outside the compartment were lit we saw the tremendous castle that was Hogwarts.

We got off the train and I saw Hagrid calling for all the first-years. When we were all gathered around Hagrid, he took us to a small fleet of boats and we rode them over the lake that surrounded Hogwarts.

Once we were inside the castle, we were taken into a large room with four long tables by a woman who announced herself as Professor McGonagall. At the front of the room was another table facing the rest where the teachers were seated. Professor McGonagall said, "You will now be Sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin." as she said each of them she indicated which table that house was seated at and I saw James seated at the Gryffindor table.

Then I noticed a stool with a very old, withered, and frayed hat. Professor McGonagall began, "Now I will call your names in alphabetical order, you will come to the front, sit on the stool and I will put the Sorting Hat on your head." Then something strange happened, it started to sing.

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty, but don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find, a smarter hat than me. You can keep your bowlers black, your top hats sleek and tall, for I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat, and I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head, the Sorting Hat can't see, so try me on and I will tell you, where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart, their daring, nerve, and chivalry, set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal, those patient Hufflepuffs are true, and unafraid of toil; Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, where those of wit and learning, will always fing their kind; Or perhaps in Slytherin, you'll make your real friends, those cunning folk will use any means, to acheive their ends. So put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none), for I'm a Thinking Cap!"

As the Sorting Hat finished his song the whole hall burst into applause. McGonagall began to call names up and there was a fair spread to each house. Rose and Albus made disgusted faces though when a blonde haired boy called Scorpius Malfoy was called foward. I made a confused looked and Rose said that their families don't get on well, and Scorpius was sent to Slytherin. Albus was the first out of the three of us to be sorted and he was sent to Gryffindor and went to sit with James. After a while, Rose was also sorted into Gryffindor. When I finally went to the front, I wanted nothing more than to be sorted into Gryffindor. And apparantly the Sorting Hat can read minds. He said, "I can see that you want to be sorted into a particular house, and I will." And he shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!" I ran to sit with Rose and Albus, absolutely thrilled to have us all in the same house.
