44. Protest

Lou opened his door, and almost ran to mine, to open it up for me. He bowed in front of me, like I was a princess, making me laugh a bit. Then we walked towards the queue to the big London Eye.

"Are you afraid of heights?" he asked, looking at me. I shook my head, looking back up a the monstrous piece of machinery, towering over the line of people standing in front of it.

"Are you sure?" he asked again, a hint of silliness in his voice this time. I nodded, as I looked at him, not trying to seem to freaked out.

"Hey, relax. It's going to be alright." he said, smiling reassuringly at me, trying to calm me down. I laughed nervously, as we stopped right at the end of the line, waiting for our turn. Lou took out a pair of sunglasses, and like Harry, put them on, trying to conceal his face. Then he pulled the collar of his shirt up around his neck. It made him look like the guy on the "Incognito" window in Google Chrome. I started laughing at him, and he looked at me with pretend confusement.

"What?" he asked, holding up his arms, laughing along. I was dying, the laughter making my stomach hurt, and finally he joined in, at first silently, trying not to draw any attention to himself. Then, he joined in quite violently, making me laugh even more.

"Stop…" he said, trying to catch his breath. I kept hitting my thigh, the other hand on my belly.

"No!" I said, a bit to high-pitch, making him burst into another frenzy of laughter. I felt the tears press onto me cheeks, making me cry of joy, making everything even more funny.

"I'm crying!" I said, as Lou started again, moving with the queue. The other customers looked around, trying to locate the source of all the noise, We couldn't stop, and even when we made it to the start of the line and the man in charge of everything let us into the little cabin, we were still dying. The door closed after us, and Lou went over to me, and grabbed my shoulders, hugging me tightly. I could feel his chest vibrating against me, tickling me. I put my arms around him, trying not to totally break down again. He pulled me into arms length, and looked into my eyes, smiling at me.

"You are amazing. Does Harry tell you that often enough?" he asked, I felt my cheeks blushing, and my stomach turn when he spoke of Harry. Mixed feelings flew around in my body, making me look down. I shrugged. The box started moving, and we were slowly climbing up the wheel.

"You're still pretty mad about it, am I right?" he asked, referring to the tour. I shrugged again, not wanting to meet his eyes. He put his hand on my chin, lifting up my head, to look at him.

"Harry is really sorry. He BEGGED management to take you with him. They wouldn't let him - I asked too, so did Zayn, Niall and Liam. They still wouldn't let us." I could see the affection in his eyes, and hear on his voice he really meant it.

"I just feel like everyone's leaving me." I said, trying to look away. He held my face, so he was able to look at me.

"We're not. We're coming back." he said, trying to cheer me up.

"Let's think about something else for now." he said, looking me in the eyes smiling at me. It hurt him, as much as it did me. And I could sense it, no matter what a talented actor he was.

"Want to hear something funny?" he asked. I nodded, trying to get the bad thoughts of their soon to be happening abandonment of me. Well, temporary abandonment.

"It's going to be really hard without you." he said, smiling charmingly, sitting down on the bench in the middle of the room. I sat down next to him, leaning towards him.

"You too." I said. He inched closer to me, still looking me in the eyes.

"I'm going to miss you." he said again, his face moving closer to mine.

"I'm going to miss you too…" I whispered, as his lips pressed against mine, making my heart race, and my mind protest to the fullest.
