30. Niall's POV: Date

Chapter 30~Date

Niall's POV:

Today is Saturday, and it's been a week and a half since I asked Mary-kate to go on a date with me. We decided that today was the day we are going to go out on our date. So, I told her to be ready by 10am. That way we could spend a whole day together. Over the past week and a half we have really became closer. And the boys think I’m going crazy, because I've planned out every single part of our day. Oh, shoot, I'm going to be late, I grab my keys and head to my car. She had given me her address on Friday, so I could pick her up. I slowly get out of the car and head up to her front door and knock. A guy about 18 or so opens it. He says, “Wait here, I’ll go get Mary-kate.” And he walks upstairs. Who was that I wonder. Then look up the stairs to see Mary-kate wearing a pair of neon orange sneakers with a pink hello kitty shirt and a pair of plaid shorts, along with one pink sock and one green sock. Her hair is straightened, so it falls a little below her shoulders. This girl and her choices to mismatch clothing, sometimes I wonder why she does it. I guess it is just her thing. Before we leave she walks up to the guy who opened the door and asks me if I mind that she talks to him for a minute. Ok, go ahead. “Thanks, I’ll be right back,” and she walks into the next room with the guy, so I decide to eavesdrop on them. And what she said broke my heart in two. “Please pretend you are my brother while he is here. I don’t want him to know the truth about you,” she said. “Fine, but you’re going to have to tell him at some point,” the guy said. “Thank you,” she replied. I knew it, she must be secretly seeing him, and doesn’t want anyone to know, so she’s using me as a cover up. Then she walked back into the living room. I quickly wiped my tears away, before she could see them. “Shall we go, she asked.” Then we left, to go to the roller-skating rink. After about 4 hours there it was 2pm. So I took her to the nearby park. We played with the little kids till 4pm, and got ice cream to eat. I ordered a scoop of every flavor of ice cream they had, and she just started giggling. What? “Nothing, it’s just funny to see how the guy you ordered the ice cream from looked after you ordered.” Well, what can I say, I love food. “I can tell.” Once we finished our ice cream, I told her we were going to the movies. “What movie are we going to see?” You have to wait and find out. “But, I don’t want to wait and find out, can’t you tell me now?” Nope. Then she was silent until we got to the movie theater. It was 6 when we got there, because we stayed at the ice cream place for an hour or so. Together we walked in, and I bought tickets for the scariest movie that was playing. She didn’t look surprised that I picked that movie either. As we found our seats the movie began to play, because I couldn’t watch the movie without tons of popcorn and other candies. I picked the seats in the way back for us to sit in. So I could hold her when she got scared. But, even halfway through the movie, she still seemed to be unfazed by the scariness. Well, this is disappointing. I wanted her to get scared and afraid, and climb onto my lap and sit. But she never did. At one point I even go really scared and wanted to hide, but when I looked at Mary-kate she didn’t seem bothered at all with the movie. She just seemed more interested. But then she got a text, it said,” When are you going to be home? I‘m waiting at your house.” It said it was from Zach <3. She texted back saying,“ soon, I can’t wait to see you again.“ That’s when I started to cry, so I stood up and walked out of the theater room, and into the bathroom.
