I Miss You..

When Kip's girlfriend gets killed in a horrible car accident will he learn to love someone else? Will he have to?

5. Making Calls

When I finally woke up again I was in the same room, alone. Where did Mrs.A go? I looked around, no one was there, but the papers from my desk were on the side of me. I smiled and turned on a small light on the side of my bed, putting the papers on my lap. I read over them again like before. I looked out the small window into the hospital as someone was being rushed by on a bed by doctors and nurses. At least that didn't happen to me. Although at this point, that would probably be better than this... Whatever this is. I grabbed a pencil and continued writing the sentence I was in the middle of when I blacked out the first time, then started the next paragraph. While I was writing I heard a noise and looked up. It was Grace's sister, Melody.

"Oh hey, Melody." I said with a smile.

"Hey Kip." She said with a warming smile. "What're you doing?" She asked looking down at the papers on my lap.

"I'm writing a speech, for you and Grace's funeral." I said, looking down at the paper. "Want to read it?" I asked, looking up at her.

"I guess." She said with a shrug, then grabbed the paper from my hand. The first couple paragraphs are about both of them, and then, as of now, the rest is for Grace.

"This is THE sweetest thing I have ever seen or read in my life." She said, screeching as she read it all, causing me to be surprised at first, and then start laughing.

We talked for a while after that and right after she left, I knew I had something to do.

"Hello." I said slowly into the phone, not wanting to regret this.

"Hey, Kip." I heard his voice.

"I know we haven't really talked in a while, but I need to talk to you about something really important to me." I said, hoping he wouldn't hang up when I start talking about it.

"Okay, what do you need?"

"Well, I know you umm..." I trailed off, did I really want to talk to him about this?

"I what?"

"Well, you drink and drive, quite often." I crossed my fingers hoping my father wouldn't hang up.

"And?" I was actually pretty surprised with his answer..

"Well, seeing as that's how Grace died, then I would appreciate it if you would stop. So that no one else has to feel what I am going through right now." I said, knowing that at any minute he would hear no more responses from the other line.

"Well her death couldn't have been that bad could it? I mean it made you start talking didn't it?" He said it like it was no big deal.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked and hung up the phone. Did he really just say that? I felt my jaw clenching, and I leaned back against the pillows that were propped up. He has to be kidding me.

(I am so sorry guys, I haven't updated it so long, but I have things to do almost everyday for school and other stuff. And I haven't been at my dad's house in like a month, and the computer at my mom's isn't hooked up, so it's really hard to update. But don't think I forgot about this story. I will REALLY try and update a lot, and a lot longer chapters too.
