Separated at birth

Harry looked at me with intensity in his eyes, “I don’t know why you’re here, or who you are. I don’t know if you’re telling me the truth, or if it’s a pack of lies. But I do know for the first time in my life, I feel complete. I feel like I’ve finally found you Marty, this is crazy and I know it is. But it’s true. You could be my twin like you say, or you could be another person, but whatever it is I don’t feel empty anymore.”

6. Chapter 6

Marty’s POV

Unfortunately Kalli was on the next train with me. It’s not that I don’t like her. It’s just she’s very forward and I’m not used to that. She sat down next to me singing along to the stereo on her phone. I looked down at my phone, the plain old boring one. Then back to hers, the newest iPhone. Why this has affected me now I don’t know, it’s not like I ever cared about money.

She talked about her family, her mum Jane and dad Ryan. She told me how she went home to visit them, but she couldn’t be away from her boyfriend for that long. I always believed family were the most important thing. But then again I’ve never had a boyfriend to compare. Once I was close to getting one, his name was Jake but before I knew it he had moved on to someone else.

“So tell me about your family?” she asked.

What is there to say? The truth is I don’t even know who they are.

“Oh come on, there must be something you can tell me?”

“I don’t know them” I admitted.

“Oh” she looked down.

“Yeah” I said awkwardly.

“May I ask you something?” she looked back up to me.

“I’m sure you’re going to anyway” I huffed.

“Is that where you’re going?”

I nodded.

“Then why can’t you be found?” she said confused.

As soon as you give someone a little bit of information, they will expect more and more.

“My adopted parents died last week. My mum well adopted mum left me a note telling me about the adoption. Can you believe it, it’s like hey I’m sorry I’m dead oh and you’re adopted.” I rolled my eyes. “They expect me to go into foster care, I’ve heard about those places. I don’t belong in a foster home, I belong with my family.”

She patted my hand, “everything will be okay you know?”

“Well I’m not so sure” I sighed.

“I have to get off this train at the next stop. Are you sure you’re going to be okay?”

“I’ll be fine” I tried to smile.

“Will you accept my number, so you can call if anything happens?”

I nodded passing her my phone. She typed in her number and passed it back to me.

“I hope you find what you’re looking for” she gave me a hug and left me alone on the train.

Even though she annoyed me throughout the journey, I couldn’t deny that I was going to miss her.

“Excuse me sir, do you know which train I should get?” I asked an old man.

“Where you headed to darling?”

“Cheshire” I admitted.

“Platform 3” he smiled.

“Okay thanks” I returned the smile searching for platform 3.

“Looks like we’re headed to the same place” a guy’s voice whispered.

I turned around to see Pete smirking at me.

“Oh” I said awkwardly.

“Come on then” he stayed close next to me.

I suddenly wished I got off with Kalli, now I’m all alone.

He sat down and I had no choice but to sit next to him. He put his feet on the chair opposite causing a woman to stand up.

I raised my eyebrow “that’s a bit rude?”

“My leg’s hurt” he grinned.

Asshole, I looked over at the woman and stood up.

“Here have my seat.”

She looked over at Pete and frowned, “no it’s quite alright, thank you” she smiled walking away.

“Oh so you’re one of those” he huffed.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“One of those goody goodies who constantly try and please everyone.”

“No” I fought back. “I’m not an ass, I have manners.”

“Manners? Please.”

“I know that term must sound unfamiliar to you” sarcasm rolled off my tongue.

“You going to sit back down?” he asked.

“Next to you hell no.”

“So where are you going to sit?” he looked around.

My eyes wandered noticing there was no free chairs, I sighed and sat back down.

He laughed.

“I need to show you something” he whispered.

“Come with me,” he stood up and held out his hand.

I rolled my eyes and pushed past him only making him laugh more. He pointed to the toilet at the disabled end of the train.

“You want me to go in there with you?” I shrieked.

“I can only show you, no-one else please?”

Wearily I opened the door and stepped inside. He followed me in and locked the door, my stomach dropped.

“Now we’re alone I can do this,” he pushed against me and kissed my neck.

My hands pressed against his chest “what are you doing?”

“You can’t deny our spark, and you” he looked at me, “are so hot” he kissed me hard.

My eyes widened as I tried to push him off me “stop” I tried to say.

His hands travelled up my back in my hair, my breathing grew erratic the more scared I got. My knee jolted up knocking him to the floor. I ran out of the toilet causing unwanted stares in my direction.

“Are you alright?” the same woman looked at me.

I nodded “I need to get off, when is the next stop?” I asked.

“I’m not sure love, where are you off to?”

“Cheshire” I admitted.

“That’s 4 stops away, don’t worry you will be fine” she smiled warmly.

Little did she know I needed to get off. I needed to get away from him. As soon as my mind made up a crazy idea I would do it instantly. This is what always got me into situations like this, plus I’m too gullible. I should have never come on this stupid journey, but I’ve come too far to quit.
