14. What If? Part 1

Zayns POV

I was in the middle of a great dream, a dream that didn't deserve to end. I was in the middle of a concert with the boys and out of nowhere this stunning girl emerged out of the crowd. She held a big red sign which read "I am Sabby!". She slowly pushed her way through the screaming fans and came out front. I gave her a hand and helped her up to the stage, my eyes never leaving hers. We were then in the spotlight. We hugged. Slowly I leaned forward. She leaned towards me. Our lips were just about to meet when the crowds screaming turned into the ringing of my phone.

Slowly my eyes opened and the dream turned into reality. The dark surroundings of the dank hotel room... Niall's soft snoring came from across the room and then a cheeky laugh escaped his lips. Who knew what he was dreaming... My eyes adjusted more and the light from my phone grabbed my attention. That was the reason I woke up.

The phone reached my overly large tattooed hand. I didn't recognize the number. I answered it. I only said 'hello' and didn't identify that I was Zayn. It could easily have bee a fan who had a lucky guess at my number. Quickly the voice at the other end asked who I was. After another question I found out it was Sabby. Her voice was shaky, as if she were crying. Quickly her story came out. She said she waged to die. She couldn't. I needed her! I had helped her, but she didn't know how much she had helped me also.

Suddenly I realized I hadn't heard her voice for several moments.

"Sabby are you there?" It was my turn to be slightly on edge. Had she acted without saying bye? No.... She couldn't have!

"Yeah.... I'm here Zayn."

Relief swept over me.  I decided to change the subject for both of our safety. We talked a out the weather and she asked a bit about my life. Happily I answered, although it wasn't my favourite topic. Sometimes I wondered if I would have been better off if i never auditioned for xfactor.... If I has never fell under pressure and danced. Life would be so much simpler then....
