The Meadow

This is a poem I wrote for a school competition, it is not my best poem but I was still rather proud seeing as I wrote it pretty quickly. I thought I would put it on here to see what everyone thought of it.

1. The Meadow

In the meadow the old dog dies,

sleeping peacefully as his world passes by,

and as he dreams the sheep bleat,

slow and softly to the beat.

As he remembers his life behind,

snowdrops drift down from the sky,

and the clock ticks and tocks,

because it will never stop.

In the meadow the dog lies,

waking peacefully as his world passes by,

and the clock will never give its final tock,

because rainbow bridge never stops.
