The Rules Of Stalking

Frankie was a journalist for a popular teenage magazine. She is at the very bottom trying her best to work her way up to the top. Her boss gives her a new task, a task that only she can do, a task that could lead to a promotion; to work undercover and exploit UK's biggest boyband.

But if you're going to stalk someone, you need a few rules, right? The four rules of stalking:

1# don't get caught

2# don't make it obvious you're trying to ask for information

3# don't get emotionally attached

but we forgot the most obvious one didn't we?

Rule 4# don't fall in love

1. Prologue

Frankie has worked for 'Top Of The Pops' magazine for two years now, and she is getting nowhere. She started off when she was eighteen years old and she got the job quite easily, considering her Auntie is the 'big boss'. You would think that would get her a free pass to the top, right? Wrong. She's had to work hard to get the position she's in right now. Basically, she makes the other journalists coffee. Great isn't it? Not really. She hates it.

"Frankie, you are probably wondering why I've called you in here, yes?" Her auntie asked. Frankie nodded her head timidly, tucking a strand of her long brown hair behind her ears.

"Well, you'll be pleased to her that I think you're ready for your first big interview" She smiled

"Really?! I'm interviewing someone?! Who is it?" Frankie gasped

"Well, not exactly interviewing, more like. . . stalking, to put it in polite terms" Her auntie laughed

"Sorry what?"

"Well, as you might know, the popular boy band one direction's management have decided it's best not to let us interview them" She paused "Which is not good, and the magazine is quickly loosing popularity. We need this, or else the magazine will fail. The boys have so many fans that want to know more about them. They want to get to know the real one direction"

"So what do you want me to do?" Frankie asked "I'm not quite following you"

"Follow them around, then, once you feel like you're ready, make friends with them. Find out personal information about them. Information that they wouldn't share with anyone in a magazine" She looked at Frankie's puzzled expression and continued "Basically, if you get inside information about them, that no other magazine will have, we will come out on top, and more people will read"

"And how do you expect me to become friends with them?" Frankie asked, knitting her eyebrows together

"Research" Her auntie stated simply "Find out their likes and dislikes, go to where they would go, Nandos, milkshake city, stuff like that. I don't know, bump into them or something"

"And what makes you think they would want to be friends with me?" She scoffed "My big break, and you make it the impossible! There is no way I'm doing this"

"Frankie, darling, please, the magazine needs this. You're the youngest on the team. That's why I need you to do this, you're the same age as them" Her auntie pleaded

"What do I get out of this?" Frankie asked

"A promotion, and a big one. This is the biggest story anyone has ever done" She smirked

This was Frankie's big chance, to become someone, to get a good job that she actually liked, with good pay. And not to forget to hang about with a boyband. Even though she didn't actually know who they were or what they looked like. But she was sure if she saw them that she would recognise them.

"So what do I have to do?"

"Get them to trust you" Her auntie stated "You're one year below the oldest in the band, Louis, and one year above the rest. Apart from Harry, he's still eighteen"

"I'm twenty, you make me sound so old" Frankie laughed

"You're no longer a teenager" Her auntie smiled, as if she was looking back at old memories the pair shared

"Okay, I'll do it"
