2. That Happened

Bulldozers crashed in violently, causing the trees beside the pond the egrets live in to collapse into the water. The monkeys and parrots retreated, as if they had a choice, leaving the egrets and herons trapped in the pond. The frogs dived in for cover horridly and the fishes sought out for the lake. The trees fell down on most of the egrets, but some families escaped. Little Hansel, who was daydreaming in the forest, suddenly heard the commotion. She watched the amazonian trees fall. Then she spotted her mother. She tried to fly down to the pond, but the mother egret shook her head. Then Hansel deprived to a branch. She looked at her mother, and the mother egret had a tear trickling down her feathery cheek, and the approximate time the tear fell down, the tree... collapsed on Flora's back spine, before she even squawked goodbye.
