4. A Predator of the Skies

As they flew throughout the forest, something that flapped loudly came before them. Right after they knew it, a fleet of crows came chasing them, with a vulture not far behind. "Crows!! Vultures!!" Fennel obviously stated. After minutes of flying, the birds were right beside the egret and hummingbird. "Ooh! Two little birdies for my stomach!" one screeched. The others bellowed with laughter. The vulture shuttled them up. "Look!" the hummingbird said through her teeth quietly. "The sun!" The crow tried to grab Fennel, but she was moving too swiftly. "Cover ye eyes!" one screeched, but it was too late for the predators. They plunged down the canopies unconsciously, except the vulture. "You're mine!" it screeched, wobbling it's wrinkled neck. The vulture beaked between Hansel and Fennel. A parrot was flying by, not seeing the vulture. The parrot bumped right into the vulture, and both was sent down with eyes closed, wings on head. "We have to save that parrot, before that vulture eats it!" Hansel said. "Alright!" Fennel crowed. They swooped down, looking for the parrot. Fennel spotted the parrot laying there beside the sleeping vulture "There!" They grabbed the feathers of the bird silently, but the vulture awoken. They flew up, vulture's beak one centimeter away from the parrot's feathers. The vulture tried to flap it's wings and fly, but failed collapsing on the ground until there was a big bulge on it's head. The parrot awoke hours after it was saved, and flew by thanking the birds, giving them a papaya. "Use it for food, or for defense!" the parrot chirped, flying away. "Defense?" the hummingbird and egret tweeted together unknowingly.
