10. Forever Yours

Alyssa’s POV.

There were beeping sounds all around me. Where am I? Am I the hospital? How did I get here? I was utterly confused. I heard faint voices in the room that I was in. The voices were talking about me. “You can come back later when she wakes up.” I heard a woman’s voice.

Who was she talking to? What was going on? My mind was still conscious of my surroundings, but my eyes still haven’t opened. Finally I opened my eyes to find myself alone in a hospital room. I looked around, seeing that there were bandages all over my body.

I heard a knock at my door and a woman’s head appeared. “Good, you’re awake.” The woman smiled as she entered the room. She was wearing a white coat and had a clipboard in her hand. “How did I get here?” I asked.

“Someone said they found you on a bench near the side of the road. They brought you here. When we asked the person if they knew what happened, they didn’t have a clue.” she said. I could tell the woman was a doctor.

“Alyssa! Don’t you dare run away!” Chris called after me. I ran as fast as my legs could go. Blood was dripping from my arms and my legs. My sides hurt, especially near my rib cage. I ran until my legs gave out and I collapsed on the street.

I could go no further. This was it. This was going to be the end of me. I was never going to see Harry, or any of the other guys. I was going to die right here near the side of the street. Nobody really cared about me, except for Harry and his friends.

But that doesn’t matter now. None of it matters.

“It was a man. He was my ex-boyfriend. He did this to me.” I told her. Eventually I told her everything I knew about Chris. Every secret I kept that he told me not to tell. I knew I would eventually tell my story to the police, but the doctor was the only person in the room I could tell.

I told her Chris’ full name and the address he lives on. I also told her how he looked and what car he drove. “That’s all I know.” I said. The doctor nodded and thanked me before walking out of the room. I guess she was going to inform the police about Chris.

I was thankful for being in a hospital room, but I wanted to see Harry. All of my clothes were folded neatly across the bed I was in. My phone was sitting right on top of all the clothes. A nurse entered my room and I asked him if I could just call a friend of mine.

He nodded, handing me my cell phone and I began dialing Harry’s number. “Alyssa, are you safe?” Harry immediately asked me and I let out a smile. I was so relieved to finally hear his voice after so long. “Yes, I’m at the hospital.” I answered.

“I’ll be right over.” he said. We both hung up and I placed the phone on the table next to my bed. It hurt to reach over, but I seemed to manage on my own. I didn’t want anyone else in the room, but Harry.

Harry’s POV.

I arrived at the hospital and the woman at the front desk told me Alyssa’s room number when I asked. I knocked on the door and heard a faint “Come in” from Alyssa, then entered the room.

Alyssa was sitting upright on the bed as I closed the door behind me. I walked over and sat down in the chair beside her bed. “How are you feeling?” I asked her. She gave me a small smile, “Better now.”

Bandages and bruises covered her body from head to toe, but I was glad that she was safe. That’s all I wanted to know. “It’s my fault that this happened to you. I should’ve-”

“Harry, it’s not your fault that this happened. Don’t blame yourself for all of this.” She interrupted me as I took her hand in mine. “Aly, I just want you to know that I’m never going to leave your side ever again. I’m always going to be here for you. I want you to know that.” I said.

She nodded, “I really appreciate that Harry. I never brought myself to tell anyone this before, but I love you.” As soon as the three words left her mouth, my heart leapt with joy. I stood up and gently leaned in to kiss her on the lips. “I love you too Alyssa.” I smiled.

Alyssa's POV.

A few weeks have passed by and I was finally out of the hospital. I was glad to be out of there. Once Harry parked his car in the driveway, I got out of his car. Truth be told, I was at the hospital for at least an entire week. It was dreadful, but the visits from Harry and the guys made everything worth while.

As soon as Harry and I entered his house, I was greeted with a hug from his mother, Anne. "How are you feeling honey?" she asked with a smile, pulling away from the hug. "I feel good." I smiled.

"You two are just in time for dinner." she smiled. Harry and I had just come back from hanging out with the guys in London. They were just giving me a tour, and it was a lot of fun.

We both entered the dining room and sat down at the table.  Harry and I have been together since that day at the hospital when we expressed our feelings for one another.

Later that evening after dinner, Harry and I went upstairs to the room I was staying in. We both got in bed together and he wrapped his arms around me, holding me close to him. "Promise you won't leave." I said, looking up into his green eyes. "I promise. I'm forever yours." he smiled as he leaned in and gave me a kiss on the lips.
