8. Change of Plans

Liam parked in front of the driveway at his house and grabbed my bag from the back seat as I helped myself out of the car. Liam's house was similar to Harry's. I followed him as he led me through the entrance. Inside, there was a living room directly ahead of me and the kitchen was on the left. Down the hallway a bit, there was a flight of stairs that led to the second floor of the house. "Do you live here alone?" I asked as he closed the door behind me.

"At the moment, yes. I have two older sisters." he said, leading me down the hallway and up the flight of stairs. We ascended the stair case into yet another hallway with doors lining the corridor. The first room we entered was where I would be sleeping. He set the bag down near the bed. "Hope this room is fine." he said.

I smiled, "It's great. Thank you."

"Across the hall is the bathroom, and if you need me, I'll be at the end of the hallway." he smiled, then descended the stairs as he left me to my thoughts alone in the room. It was a beautiful room. There was a window which overlooked the whole town. It was an amazing view. I could stay here forever if I could. I thought to myself with a smile.

I walked out of the bedroom and headed downstairs to hear that the TV was on. I entered the living room. "Mind if I join you?" I asked Liam with a smile. Liam looked up and smiled, "No, not at all." I happily sat down right next to him while he flipped through a few channels until he was fully satisfied with what he was watching. "Would you like anything to drink?" he asked.

"I would like some tea." I said.

He stood up and nodded, "Right away." Then he left the room while I continued on with watching the show. Liam came back with two mugs and handed me one. "Be careful, it may still be hot." he said. I took the mug from him and slowly sipped my tea, then placed it on the coffee table. Eventually Liam got bored with the television and we began to chat.

There were so many things I never knew about Liam, and even though I told him a few things about myself, he was still interested. It took me a while to tell Harry about all the abusive things Chris has done to me and about Chris himself, but everything takes a little bit of time. I really enjoyed Liam's company.

I felt his need to be protective of the people he cared about, especially the guys. "So, that's how you got your nickname?" I asked with a slight chuckle. He smiled, laughing a bit. "Yeah, it's a bit cheeky... I know."

"I like it. I mean, it really suits you." I smiled.

Getting to know Liam wasn't as bad as I thought. He was just a fun person to be around, and he emulated that brotherly figure to me. "What kind of movies do you like?" he asked me. I shrugged, "Anything really, from horror to action films to romantic comedies. Sometimes I watch children's movies from time to time, but I never get around to watching since..."

I trailed off, looking down at my hands that were resting in my lap. "How about we spend the rest of the night watching movies? I could also make dinner for you, if you'd like." Liam suggested with a smile. I looked up at him and smiled. "That'd be great. I like that idea."

"Fantastic. Hope you don't mind that I make us an egg omelette. It's the only thing I can make with the stuff I have in the fridge." he said, beginning to stand up. "Oh an omelette's fine." I said. He smiled, then walked straight into the kitchen.

I grabbed my mug and followed him while he took out a few ingredients for the omelette. "Would you like any help?" I asked him, then took a sip of my tea and set the mug on a nearby counter. "Would you mind scrambling the eggs?" he asked. I shook my head in reply as I began cracking a few eggs, then took the whisk and began to scramble them.

After a good ten minutes, the omelette was done and we grabbed our mugs as we sat down at the table. The food was delicious and Liam's company made everything better. Once we finished eating, I helped him clean up and then we walked back to the living room to watch a movie together.

He popped in the movie Toy Story. "You watch Toy Story?" I asked him.

"Are you judging me?" he asked.

I shook my head, gently biting my lip. "No, not at all. I never knew you loved the movies."

"I do." he said.

I smiled, "Well, to be honest, I haven't watched Toy Story in a while. I'm glad to be watching it with you." After the movie ended, we both ascended the stairs and began to walk to our rooms. "Good night Alyssa." he smiled.

"Night Liam and thanks again for letting me sleep here. I had a lot of fun. It took my mind off of everything that's been going on." I smiled, and I was honest.

"Not a problem. I'm really glad we were able to spend some time getting to know each other. I had a lot of fun as well." He reached out and pulled me into a hug as I hugged him back. Once he pulled away, he walked down the hallway and closed the door to his bedroom.

I smiled to myself, and then entered the room I was sleeping in. I grabbed a set of clothes, went into the bathroom to take a quick shower, and changed once I was done. I walked back into the room, closed the door, and fell asleep.

I awoke the next morning and quickly changed into a new set of clothes. As I descended the stairs, I heard voices. Upon entering the kitchen, the guys were leaning against counters and were talking. "Good morning babe." Harry reached out and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back while he kissed me on the top of my head.

I never wanted to let him go. I missed him. "How was your night with Liam?" he asked me. I looked in the direction of Liam, and then Harry. "I had a lot of fun." I said.

"What did you two talk about?" Niall asked.

"Nothing special really. We just got to know each other a bit better, that's all." Liam said. I had a feeling Liam had a bit of a crush on me, maybe they all did. I wasn't sure. I'd rather be with Harry, but that'd be selfish of me.

But in all honesty, I did meet Harry first and I did fall for him. "You'll have a lot more fun with the rest of the guys." Harry said. I pouted a little. I wish I could stay with you. I thought silently, looking at him. "It seems as though your girlfriend doesn't like us." Louis said.

"She likes you guys. Right?" Harry looked at me as I nodded. "See? She's just shy to admit it. Maybe we should drop the plan." he said.

"Why?" Zayn asked.

"It seems like Chris has stopped bothering her." Harry answered.

"Then let her stay with me for a night." Louis suggested. The guys looked at Louis and back at Harry. It was as if Louis suggestion seemed like a good idea, but I was having trouble reading their gestures. "It's not like I'm going to hurt her. Harry, you can trust me." he said.

I glanced up at Harry who looked like he was in deep thought and he was. "Fine, but only for one night, and then she stays with me afterwards." Harry had given in to Louis's suggestion. A smile spread across Louis's face as he lit up like a boy on Christmas Day.

...

Louis parked his car in the driveway and the two of us got out while he grabbed the bag from the trunk of the car. As we entered his house, four little girls ran up to him and gave him a hug. "Louis!" They all screamed. I smiled at the sight while Louis hugged all of them back.

"Who's she?"

"Is she your new girlfriend?"

"She's pretty."

"Her name's Alyssa, and no, she's not my new girlfriend." Louis answered them, but I had a feeling that there was more to his answer and he didn't want to say it out loud. "Thank you." I smiled at one of the little girls.

The girls left us alone and Louis gave me an apologetic look. "Sorry about that." he muttered.

"It's okay." I gave him a reassuring smile to let him know that everything will be just fine. He grabbed my bag and led me up the stairs. "You can sleep in my room for the night. I'll be fine on the couch." he said, taking a pillow from his bed and I stopped him.

"No, it's fine." I said. What was I doing? I asked myself. He gave me a confused look for a split second before regaining his composure and set the pillow back down on the bed. "Are you sure?" he asked. "I mean, wouldn't it be a bit awkward? You're Harry's girl, and I assumed you'd be fine with sleeping alone."

"To be honest, I hate sleeping alone. I always feel like..." Then the water works came when I suddenly thought of Chris. Louis reached out and gave me a hug, gently rubbing my back. Being around Louis felt comforting, like Liam and Harry.

He only pulled away to look into my eyes and say, "Don't worry. We are going to get you out of this, and you're going to be safe. Harry will make sure no harm comes to you. Okay?" I nodded, and then hugged him again.

I knew Louis and Harry were close, so I trusted Louis but not as much as I trusted Harry. This plan was worth a shot, and just as long as I stayed away from Chris, I would be safe... for now.
