3. Broken

"Hello?" I answered, picking up my phone.

"Hey Haz!" Louis said over the phone. "Hey Lou." I wasn't as enthusiastic as he was, but I was glad to be able to talk to him after what happened today. "What's up?" I asked.

"There's a party this Saturday, you coming?" he asked.

"Sure, why not." I replied.

"Great! Maybe you can bring Alyssa." he said.

We talked on the phone a bit longer and then hung up. I wasn't sure if Alyssa was comfortable with going to a party. I wasn't even sure if she was the party type. She didn't look like the party type, but it wouldn't hurt to ask her if she'd like to go with me.

The next morning, Alyssa and I were eating breakfast alone...again. My mum had always left early to go to work while I stayed home. There really wasn't much to do when I wasn't on tour except hang out with my friends. I figured that this was the right time to ask Alyssa if she'd like to go to a party with me this Saturday.

"Alyssa, do you want to go to a party with me this Saturday?" I asked her.

Alyssa was busily eating her food as she swallowed, then looked at me. "How many people are going?" she asked.

"Oh just a few friends of mine. Don't worry about them. You'll be with me the whole time." I smiled, then winked at her. She looked down and I could sense that she was hiding a blush from me. It seemed like everything I did made a girl blush and on Alyssa, it seemed to make my heart pound.

Sure I've only known her for a short while, but she was a beautiful girl. When she didn't answer right away, it seemed like she was holding back. She was hesitant to answer. "I don't have to go. I can just tell-"

"No, I'll go with you." she smiled.

Alyssa's POV

That Saturday, I had gone out and bought myself a dress that morning. It was a strapless black dress that showed off every curve that I had, but it also showed off a few bruises and scars from the times when I was living with Chris. I tried my best to cover them with make up, but the bruises felt like they were still raw and the scars had only been there for at least a week.

I grabbed a jacket and headed downstairs to see that Harry was waiting for me. "You look beautiful." he smiled at me, showing his dimples. I couldn't help but smile back at him. He opened the door for me and led me to his car. Being a gentleman, he opened the car door for me as I slid inside without trying to wince.

He closed the door after I entered and got in on the other side, then drove down the street after we buckled in. Music was heard from all the way down the street and once we parked outside of the house, the music was even louder as soon as we stepped out of the car.

I felt his hand on the square of my back as he led me towards the entrance of the house. I felt safe somehow when his hand was place there, even that got me thinking about the idea if he wrapped his arm around my waist. That immediately gave me butterflies in my stomach.

"Hey Haz!" Louis, followed by the other three, greeted Harry with a hug. Then he gave me a hug as I hugged him back without wincing. We pulled away and then I got a few glances from the guys. I've never been looked at in that manner by any guy before since Chris became my bofyriend.

I remembered that if another guy looked at me while Chris was by my side, Chris would threaten them. "Can I take your jacket for you?" Harry asked, turning to me. I nodded, turning to him as I pulled of my jacket and handed it to him.

Soon, he left me alone with the guys. I was just hoping they didn't notice the bruises and scars. "Would you like something to drink?" Louis asked me.

I shook my head and he asked the other three the same question. "I'd like one." Harry said, appearing beside me. "I'll be right back." Louis said, leaving us to get the drinks.

"Do you want to dance?" Harry asked.

"I'm not much of a dancer." I said.

"It'll be fun." he smiled, holding out his hand towards my direction. I took it and he led me through a crowd of people who were dancing. He placed his hands on my waist, pulling me closer to him as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

Every so often we'd switch positions and finally we were both exhausted of dancing. "Let's get out of here, shall we?" he asked as I nodded. Harry left to go get our jackets as Louis and the other guys walked up to me. "I see you had a great time." Zayn smiled.

I smiled, "Yeah, I had a lot of fun."

"Well, let's just say Harry knows how to treat a girl that he likes." Louis smiled.

Harry came back with my jacket, handing it to me as I put it on. I couldn't stop thinking about what Louis had said. Even when Harry drove us back to his house, that was the only thing that was on my mind. I went upstairs and to take a shower, then go straight to bed.

By the time I was fully done and dressed, I walked into my room and got in bed. There was a knock on my door and Harry's head peeked through. "Good, you're awake." he smiled, entering the room and closed the door behind him.

He sat down on the bed as I moved away from him a little bit to make room. "Did you have fun?" he asked. I nodded, bringing my knees to my chest as I stared at my feet. I was still distracted by the possibility of Harry liking me. "Aly... can I call you that?" He looked at me as I nodded.

"No one has called me 'Aly' before." I said.

He smiled, "Well, let me be the first then."

"That was my first party. I've never really gone to any." I looked down at my feet as the tears began to roll down my cheeks.

As soon as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, I tensed a bit. He pulled away and looked at me, "Is everything okay?" I wipped her tears and got in bed, turning away from him. I didn't want him to know about what happened to me. Not yet. I was afraid for him to see the bruises.

I was afraid that he would ask what happened to me. That's what they all ask. I lie and tell them that I tripped, I fell down the stairs, and I've sprained a wrist or ankle a few times. Sometimes they believe my lies. I just didn't want anyone to know the bad things that Chris has been doing to me.

It was hard to put all my trust into someone I barely knew for a few days. The weight of the bed shifted. I heard the door open and close. Inside, I was broken. My heart had been crushed into a million pieces and it would take a special someone to put it all together. I haven't found him yet. But I will find him, even if it kills me.
