A story of hope and love.

2. A New Friend

Morning came as I opened my eyes and laid in bed for a few minutes. I survived one night without being hit or yelled at, so for now I was safe. I just didn't want to get my hopes up just yet because I wasn't sure if I could fully trust Harry and his mom, Anne. I changed out of my clothes and into the ones I had worn the night before.

I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen. "You're up early." Anne smiled at me, handing me a plate full of food. "Harry's still asleep. If you need anything else, there's juice in the fridge and the glasses are in that cupboard." I thanked her for the food and she said, "You're welcome. Just make yourself at home, don't be a stranger."

After that, she left as I looked through the drawers for a fork to eat my eggs. When I found a fork, I sat down at the table and began eating. "Morning." I heard a hoarse voice emerge. Startled, I looked up and saw that it was Harry. "Uhm... I... uh..." I stammered, blushing as I looked down at my plate. "I forgot to tell you that I like to walk around naked. I hope you don't mind." he said.

I looked back up at him and he gave me a smirk. I blushed even more as I resumed to finsih the food on my plate. He grabbed himself a plate and put some food onto it, then sat down in front of me. Well, that covered most of what I was seeing and I could breathe easier. "What do you want to do today?" he asked me, taking a bite of his food.

I just shrugged as I ate the last bite of food on my plate. "You're very quiet and don't take that as a bad thing." he said. I didn't know whether to take it as a compliment or not. I stayed silent as I sat there. "I'm meeting my friends after breakfast, do you want to come along?" he asked.

I felt uneasy about meeting new people. I never really met anyone else other than Harry. He was the first person that I actually talk to, sort of. I nodded and he smiled. I never really noticed that he had dimples, and boy was he cute when he smiled. "Great. Let me go and get ready." He stood up, grabbing my plate and walked back towards the kitchen with both plates in hand.

I only looked up to catch a glimpse of his backside.

Moments later, we were riding in his car to the place where he was meeting his friends. "They'll understand if you don't open up to them right away. They're really nice people, and funny too." he smiled, then parked in the parking lot. He opened the door for me as I got out and tried not to wince, but the pain was still there.

"You okay?" he asked, closing the door after I got out. "I'm fine." I said, putting on a brave smile. We walked towards the entrance and he opened the doors for me. I thanked him as I entered and waited for him to lead the way.

We arrived at the table where his friends were seated and sat down. I sat in a chair that was isolated from most of the others. Harry had gone over and sat down in a chair beside me. "Who's this?" A brown haired boy with blue eyes asked. He was wearing a stripped shirt and red pants. He was attractive, well, all of them were.

"Her name's Alyssa. She's staying with me for a few days." Harry said.

"That's a beautiful name." Another boy smiled. This one had jet black hair and his eyes were brown, but they were the prettiest brown color I've ever seen. I blushed when he said those words. "Staying with Harry, huh? I feel bad for you." A blonde haired boy chuckled a bit.

I glanced over at Harry, giving him a confused look.

"Don't say that Niall. Just be glad that Harry's looking out for the girl." This boy had brown hair and brown eyes. He seemed like he was the most mature one out of the entire group of boys. "I'm Liam." He held out his hand towards me as I looked at it, reluctantly reaching out to shake his hand.

The other boys introduced themselves to me. Their names were: Niall, Louis, and Zayn.

"Where are you from?" Niall asked.

"Just a few miles north of London." I replied.

"Sounds far." Louis said.

"Maybe I can show you around." Zayn smiled.

"Who said you could show her around?" Harry asked.

Zayn and Harry got into a small argument about who was going to give me a tour of London. I never had that happened to me before, two guys aruging over a subject that could easily be solved. Louis rolled his eyes as he stood up and held out his hand towards my direction. "C'mon, I'l show you around." he smiled.

I couldn't help but take his hand and walk with him out of the building.

Harry's P.O.V.

"I think you scared her away." Niall said.

Zayn and I stopped arguing as we both looked around for Alyssa. "Where is she?" Zayn asked.

"Well, while you two were aguing, Louis walked out-" I walked out even before Liam could finish his sentence. How could Louis walk out with Alyssa? She was mine. Well, not exactly, but it was I who had seen her first so I should be the one who should show her around London.

As soon as I exited the building, I saw Louis and Alyssa walking down the street. It didn't take me long to catch up to them. I had forgotten that my car was parked in the lot, but I'll come back for it later. "Hey Lou." I smiled, walking beside them. "Hey Haz." Louis smiled.

"What are you up to?" I asked.

"Just showing Alyssa around. Somebody should give her a proper tour." he said.

"You both can show me around." Alyssa said.

Louis and I looked at each other for a brief moment, then I turned my attention to her. "Maybe you and Harry should spend time together." Louis smiled. I glanced at him, giving him a 'are you sure' look. He just patted me on the shoulder and walked away. "This tour comes with a free ride." I smiled.

"Just as long as it beats walking." she giggled a bit and the two of us walked back to the car. After showing her around, we went back to my house where we sat down on the couch to have some tea. "I had fun Harry, thanks." she smiled as she took a sip of her tea.

From where I was sitting, she was beautiful. I felt like she was still holding something from me, but I disregarded the thought. "I'm glad you had fun Alyssa." I smiled. "We should do this again sometime, and maybe I can take you out to dinner."

She smiled, "I'd like that."

For only a split second, I felt that she was opening up to me. I could tell by the way she smiled and how her eyes lit up. I also had a feeling that she and I would become really good friends. "Well, I might as well go to bed. Thanks again Harry." She set her mug down on the table, leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She stood up and walked out of the room as I watched her walk out.

I hadn't even realized that I sat there smiling like a fool until my phone rang.
