Safehouse- A Harry Styles fanfiction

Bo Grace Ellis was your average teenager. Hanging out with friends, complaining about homework and school. But that all changed when she woke up on a deserted street surrounded with flesh eating creatures. She was lost and confused, until a tall, dark curly haired boy named Harry Styles saved her.

Deep down Bo knew she had feelings for this boy. But did he feel the same? Of course not. A tall blonde girl named Taylor swift might have something to do with that.

Will Bo find her family? Will her and Harry get a chance at love? But most of all, would they make it out of this apocalypse alive?

18. Chapter 18

*Harry's POV*

I ran downstairs with my fists clenched, calling out Bo's name.

"Bo? Bo?!" I yelled louder and louder.

I entered the lounge room and Bo was standing there with fear in her eyes. I scanned the rest of the room and a zombie had broken through the back door and laid on the floor reaching out to her. I grabbed the same pole I'd used to save us from Taylor and I smashed it on the head. It did nothing but aggravate it.

"Harry please do something quick!" Bo pleaded.

I glanced back at her for ideas. I ran to the kitchen and got a large knife. When I returned the zombie had gotten up and was running towards Bo.

"Harry!" She screamed whilst sobbing.

She ran into the front room and up the staircase with the infected creature running after her. I dropped the knife and replaced it for the gun that was sitting on the table and went after them. I could hear Bo's frightened screams and the zombies loud moans and screeches. I exited the lounge room and joined Bo in the front room. She stood at the top of the stairs trying to get as much distance between her and the zombie as possible.

"Harry shoot it!" She screamed.

I prepared the gun as fast as I could and fired at it. The sounds of the gun hurt my ears but I continued to shoot until it fell to the floor. Bo covered her ears and cowered into the corner, tears poured down her cheeks. The zombie let out some dying screams and stopped moving. I stood upright sighing and flicked my hair out of my face. I observed the creature and made sure it was completely dead. One hundred percent deceased. I dropped the gun and made my way over to Bo, careful not to step on the limp zombie on the floor. I dropped to my knees next to her and wrapped my arms around her. She sobbed into my shoulder and I rubbed her back and whispered reassuring things into her ear.

"Shhh Bo it's okay, your okay now." I whispered.

She continued to cry quietly into my shoulder as I tried to calm her down. After a few minutes her sobbing stopped and she just rested her head on my shoulder with my arms still around her. We stayed quiet but I kept my eyes on the zombie at the bottom of the stairs just in case it wasn't really dead.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She looked up at me and nodded slightly. I wiped the tears from her face with my thumb and cupped her face in my hands. I kissed her nose and placed my forehead against hers.

"You're going to have to fix that door or wherever it came from you know. It's getting dark." Bo said.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, then got back to my feet and helped Bo up. She stumbled a bit from shock but then made her way up the rest of the stairs. I looked down at the dead zombie and made a noise of disgust. I walked down the steps to the lifeless body and dragged it out of the house. I dragged it into the alleyway out of sight and returned to the house to assess the damage.

"A bashed down door and a broken window..." I mumbled to myself.

I found some wood from the side of the house and nailed that to the window and fixed the door hinges and nailed the door back onto its frame. I finished it with a bookshelf in front of the back door, just in case it was to happen again. I stood back from my handy work and wiped the sweat off my forehead. I hadn't done much hard work like that for a while.

I walked back to the stairs and retrieved the handgun from the floor. I put it where the rest of the ammo and supplies were and changed my t-shirt and flopped down on the bed.

*Bo's POV*

I sat down on the bed upstairs and held my face in my hands. I cried silently so Harry couldn't hear me. After a few minutes I wiped the liquid from my face and looked out the window. I quickly got my diary from the cupboard and retrieved a pen from the desk. I started scribbling down words and venting into the book.

"Date: September 24th 2013
Day: Friday
Entry: So a fair bit happened today. Harry fell over with his pants down so I had to help him up. It was awkward though because I'm not used to seeing people with their pants off. Well, boys at least. Then we just laid down on the bed and Harry tickled my stomach, I love it when he does that. But then I fell asleep so Harry went and did his own thing I think.

I don't know how long I slept for but then a zombie broke through the back door and I opened my eyes and it was right in front of me. I screamed and within seconds Harry was downstairs with me. Before he got down there though I threw a pillow at it which believe it or not made it fall over. Harry hit it with the same thing he used to get rid of Taylor but it only made things worse. So as it started getting closer I ran to the stairs to try and get away from it but it chased me! I don't know what Harry was doing but then he came in with the gun. I don't know why he didn't shoot it right away but I had to tell him to and I was so scared. But he killed it and came over to me. It's amazing how he can go from all action and protective to calm, caring and supportive. He was asking if I was okay and whispering sweet things in my ear when I was crying, he's so sweet.

I'm too scared to say this to him, but I think I love him....

Anyway, I'm signing off for tonight. Sorry it was a short entry, I'm just really tired.

Sincerely, Bo."

I re-read my entry and got to the second paragraph when I heard Harry coming upstairs. I slammed the book closed and stuffed it at the top of the cupboard and made it look like I was looking at things on the desk. I picked up a snow globe and stared at it until I felt a hand on my hip. I put it down and turned around to see Harry's face up to mine, the heat from his body radiated onto me.

"Hello beautiful." He said smirking.

I smiled and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. He smiled at me and wrapped both his arms around my waist and planted soft kisses to my neck.

"I want to show you something." He said.

I looked at him confused. It was almost dark, the sun would go down completely any minute.

"But it's almost dark." I said.

"Yeah, that's why we have to go quick, come with me." He replied, holding my hand and pulling me through the house behind him.

He dashed down the stairs and went to the back door. He pushed the bookshelf out of the way so we could open the door and go outside. He dragged me behind him and stopped at the bottom of a tree.

"What are we doing here?" I asked confused.

"Just keep following me." He said,

Before I knew it he was climbing up the tree leaving me on the ground all by myself.

"Harry what the hell are you doing?" I laughed.

"Just climb up here with me." He called down.

I laughed and latched myself onto the branches. I hauled myself up until I saw Harry disappear above me into the darkness.

"Harry? Where'd you go?" I asked.

"I'm still here, just keep climbing." I heard him reply.

I continued my climb until I started to see a dim glow. As I neared it I saw that there were a bunch of leaves in my way, blocking me from my boyfriend.

"Harry I can't get through, the leaves are too thick." I complained.

I heard a sigh on the other side of the leaves and then his face appeared before me with the glow of the lights around his face. I felt like it was literally looking into heaven at an angel. I climbed through the space harry had made and looked around us. Harry had set up a small rug on the branches and some lanterns hung from the branches above us. There was a few bars of something wrapped up in the centre of the mat.

"Harry this is amazing." I exclaimed.

I looked over at Harry and he gave me a cheeky smile, knowing completely well he had me in awe at his surprise.

"I thought you'd like it." He said beaming.

I leant over to him and gave him a kiss. Harry moved over to the mat and motioned for me to come over with him. He handed me one of the bars and looked at me intently.

"I've been saving us a little treat, hope you like it." He said smiling.

I ripped open the foil covering and gasped.

"Chocolate!" I yelled excitedly.

Harry laughed and leant back, holding his weight on his arms.

"Do you like it? I've been saving it for a special occasion." He said smiling.

I grinned and gave him a hard kiss on the lips.

"I haven't had chocolate in ages Harry, thankyou." I said.

"Your welcome." He said grinning back at me.

I laid my head down on his lap and turned the chocolate bar over in my hands, feeling the wrapping and smelling the sweet smell of chocolaty goodness. I closed my eyes and inhaled the scent. My mouth watered as the scent filled me nose.

"I didn't expect you to be this happy about chocolate." Harry confessed.

"I haven't had chocolate in months Haz. You have no idea how much I've missed it." I said.

I cracked off a row and handed it to Harry. He took it in his large hands and smelt it, closed his eyes in appreciation and took a bite at one of the small cubes.

"This tastes so much better then I remember." Harry said.

I smiled and broke off a block for myself. I put it beyond my lips and let it roll around on my tongue and melt in my mouth. I turned my head and looked out to the sunset. It literally looked perfect. The soft glow of orange and yellow of the sun, the silhouette of the houses. It looked like an artist had painted it, it looked surreal. Looking at that sunset would make you think there wasn't an apocalypse happening.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I thought of all the things I took for advantage when things were normal. How my mum and I got into fights. How I used to slam the door on her. How I blocked people out when I was mad and took my anger out on others. I would waste electricity and water. I just didn't appreciate things as much as I should've. Nowadays I have to be careful wherever I go. There's limited food and water. To get more supplies is risking your life. You have to put up with people whether you like it or not because if you don't you will probably die. Everything you do can have a big impact on yours and other people's safety.

"Babe, you ok?" I heard Harry ask.

I realised that my eyes were closed and I was barely moving. I opened my eyes and a single tear rolled down my cheek.

"Baby please don't cry. What's wrong?" He asked worried.

I got up and wrapped my arms around him and nuzzled my head into his chest. Harry engulfed me in his arms and kissed the top of my forehead.

"I just missed how things used to be..." I said into his chest.

Harry sighed and gently ran his fingers up and down my spine. I closed my eyes and fisted Harry's shirt between my fingers.

"It ok, I miss those days too. But if all this never happened, I would never have met you." He replied.

I opened my eyes and looked up at him. He smiled at me slightly hoping to get some sort of reaction out of me. I gave a small smile back and he leant down and gave me a soft kiss on my lips.

"You have no idea how beautiful you are." Harry said.

I blushed and looked down. It was very rare that I got a compliment, especially from a boy.

"Thankyou." I replied quietly.

Harry stared at me raising an eyebrow. Before I knew it I was pinned down to a branch with Harry hovering on top of me.

"I mean it you know, you really are beautiful." He growled.

Harry lowered his head down to my neck and harshly sucked at the skin, I squeezed my eyes shut with the contact. Harry continued his affectionate kisses until I moved his head so our noses rubbed, our lips just brushed against each others.

"Kiss me." I barely whispered.

"With pleasure." He smirked.

Harry planted his lips onto mine as we kissed passionately. His tongue trailed along my lips asking for entranced which I accepted. Our tongues moved together in sync and I harshly fisted Harry's curls in my fingers. The dominant boy above me moaned in pleasure, he liked it when I was rough with him. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he lifted himself up again so he was hovering on top of me once more.

"You're a really good kisser." He complimented.

I laughed and smiled at him. We stared into each others eyes for a while and stayed silent. The sun had gone down and all we could hear was the crickets and the insects in the night. There wouldn't be any walkers around, they always go for the places where there's more life.

"Harry." I whispered.

"Yeah?" He breathlessly replied.

"Thankyou for saving me."

The glow of the lanterns shone on his skin. He kissed me again and pulled away so our faces were millimetres apart.

"Your welcome."

He rested his forehead on mine and I listened to the things surrounding us. I could hear an owl softly hoot in the distance, some frogs in the garden below us, and some rickets higher in the tree. It sounded so peaceful and calming until I heard another scream.

Harry and I gasped in fright and my breathing increased. Last time this happened I almost died. Tears threatened to spill on my cheeks but Harry quickly kissed them repeatedly and tried to calm me down, even though I could feel his heartbeat through his chest onto mine.

"Shh Bo it's okay, it's ages away from us and it can't get us. We're going to be fine and it isn't going to hurt us." He said between kisses.

Tears spilled over my cheeks and Harry pulled me up so we were sitting up and he sat me in his lap. He wrapped an arm around my back and placed his free hand on the back of my head while I quietly cried into his shoulder. He continued whispering sweet, reassuring things into my ear until I stopped crying. I wrapped my arms around his back and held him tight. The screaming had gone but I just needed to cry, I was so scared. I could be mentally scarred from all the things I've seen the last few months.

After about 10 minutes I stopped crying but Harry continued whispering things in my ear, probably in case I started crying again.

"I'll always be here to protect you, ok?" He said.

I sniffled and wiped my nose.

"Ok."

"Do you want go go inside now?" Harry asked.

I soon realised that we were still about 7 metres up a tree. The cold air blew around us and soon goosebumps erupted on my skin. I was too scared to go back on the ground but Harry insisted that we go inside.

"We don't want one of us getting the flu while we don't have any medicine." Harry said.

I reluctantly agreed and Harry checked whether it was safe to go down. He gave me the all clear sign and started to descend down the tree. Once he'd made it to the bottom I started climbing down myself. I stood on all the branches that could hold me and lowered myself down branch by branch. Soon I was standing next to Harry and we were cautiously making our way to the back door. We silently opened the door and put all the security things back in place. Which meant just locking the door and putting the bookshelf back in front of it.

"I'm going to have a shower." I announced.

"Ok, don't be in there too long." Harry replied.

I got my pyjamas from the suitcase and retrieved a towel from the cupboard. I made my way upstairs and closed the bathroom door. Harry had fixed that in the last few weeks too.

I turned the taps to the right temperature and got out of my clothes. I hopped in the shower and cleaned myself. I couldn't help but feel slightly paranoid that Harry might come in, I knew he wouldn't because I'd checked multiple time if I'd locked the door.

After about 5 minutes I turned the handles and got out of the shower. I dried myself and put my clean clothes on. A pair of baby blue pj pants with clouds on them and a white singlet. I tied my hair up in a messy ponytail and collected my things up and went back downstairs.

When I got into the lounge room Harry was already asleep on the bed in his grey joggers and a brown shirt. I put my dirty clothes away and joined him in the bed and instantly fell asleep.
