6. The Dream

Zayne stood up and stretched. “Well I guess I should go and show you where you are going to be sleeping tonight. We are going to be leaving first thing tomorrow morning. You are going to need as much sleep as you possibly can get." Zayne said to me with a very tired tone to his voice.

"Thank you very much for the warning. I will keep an eye open for this person." I said very tired as well. I only noticed that I was tired now because of what has happened me today. I had not even thought about sleep then. I was too afraid that I was going to be killed in my sleep.

"Ok then. Please follow me. He walked over to the door and walked out. Not wanting to get lost I hurried up to catch up to him. I walked out of the room. He lead me down several ladders and up several ladders. Finally we ended our little journey at a metal door that had a sign on it that read: Guest Room 304.  I opened the door the bedroom had a queen sized bed that a very pretty looking quilt on it. There was a door that led to a tiny little bathroom that had only a toilet and a small sink.

"I will let you rest now. Good night. See you first thing in morning." Zayne said to me obviously exhausted.

"Ok good night to you too." While I said that, I was climbing into the bed not even bothering to get undressed. I was so tired that I did not even notice when Zayne left the room closing the door silently behind him.

That night I had a horrific nightmare.

I was running down an alley. It was just like the night that IT happened. I was running away from someone. I was not sure who it was, but what I did know is that we were not just playing a friendly game of tag. I was very curious of who I was running from, but I didn't want to take the risk of looking. I kept on running. Relying on my sense of hearing to tell me when I needed to put on a burst of speed.

Then I noticed something very unusual. No matter how long I was running I was not getting any closer to the end of the alley. Knowing this, I turned my head not stopping, to see who my pursuer was. It was............. ANGELA? Confused, I turned my head again. BLAM! I ran into someone else standing there. I fell to the ground slightly dazed. When I looked up, the person that was standing there, was the one person that I did not want to see. Standing in front of me was Aaron looking as crazy as a rabid dog. Without even thinking, I stood up and started to run in the opposite direction. WHAM! I ran into Angela.

I had nowhere to run. Both directions were being blocked by either Aaron or Angela. I accepted the fact that I was not going to get away. I had no idea why Angela was trying to kill me in the first place.

Then I remembered what Zayne said to me about the assassin trying to kill me. This must be some kind of sign. Then, all of a sudden, Angela and Aaron started to advance on me. Knowing that I was in grave danger, I stood up and threw myself at Angela, she would be the easier one to take down.

Of course that did not work. Angela easily stepped to the side avoiding me. She might have dodge me, but she did make an opening for me when she did that. hat was exactly what I was looking for. So I got back up, again. I started to run as fast as I could down the alley. Then out of nowhere a hand grabbed me by the shoulder and yanked me to the ground.

I had no idea who did that but I did not have any second thoughts. I swung at the person that still had a firm grip on my shoulder. I must have caught the person off guard because the pressure on my shoulder disappeared followed by a yelp of pain. I got up again. Not even bothering to take a glance behind me. I ran and ran until finally I surprisingly got to the end of the alley. Once I got there I looked to left, and then to my right. Which Direction should I go? I thought to myself. I finally mustered enough courage to look behind me. Aaron was about thirty feet behind me, closely followed by Angela.

I then decided it did not matter and I started sprinting to the right. I ran for what seemed for hours, which were probably just a few minutes. Finally I saw a house that looked like mine. Oh my gosh! It is my house! I immediately started to run even faster towards my house. I ran up the front path and up the stairs to the front door. When I tried to open the door, I found it unlocked. Thank God. I yanked the door open and dashed inside, closing the door behind me. I started to run up the stairs to my bedroom, when I figured that I should lock the door. I jumped down the stairs three at a time, until I made it to the door. I locked both of the locks, and turned around once more, bounding up the steps.

Once I made it to the door of my bedroom, I walked in and locked the door behind me. The first thought that came to my mind was to go and hide, so I made my way to my bed. (I know, the most obvious hiding place.) The bed was the only option that I had.

I crouched at the side of my bed and tried to squeeze under it. But, to no avail. I cursed under my breath, and decided to just stay crouched on the side of the bed opposite of where the door was. I waited awhile to see what was going to happen. Then, just when I thought that I might have escaped from Aaron and Angela, there was a BANG, which meant that they had somehow kicked the door open.

There was pounding from the two running up the stairs. I could feel myself holding my breath. I couldn't make a sound, but I did have to breathe. So I let out my breath and focused on not breathing to loudly.

Then, there came a pounding on the door. There was something about this knocking. It seemed so distant. Then I noticed that I was in a dream and someone was trying to get me to wake up. I felt myself start to stir when the door finally swung open with splinters flying in all directions. Angela and Aaron started making there way around the bed. I turned my face into the bedspread of my bed and closed my eyes. Silently praying that I could wake up. I focused on the pounding going on outside of my head, and the dream started to fade. Then, everything went blank.
