Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

74. Window

Niall's POV

Coughing and spluttering, I turn to see Liam behind me.
"What are you doing?" I shout at him, using my forearm to shield my face from the nearing fire.
"Coming after you," He shouts back, jumping as another crack goes off from the flames. The whole door was engulfed in flames now; the fire beginning to creep inside the open back doors.
"Go back!" I scream at him. I wasn't going to let him get hurt when it was me that needed to be here.
"I'm not leaving you, Niall!" He replies, stepping closer. I shake my head and brace myself as the flames edge nearer. I try to see through the doors but I can't; the flames now completely overtaking them.
"The bathroom window!" Harry's voice carries over the loud noise of the fire. I turn and see him beside Liam, pointing at the side of the house. I nod and follow him around. I can her people screaming and the sounds of fire engines from the street outside. In the back of my mind I think I hear Crystal screaming my name but I shake my head.
I had to save her.

Susie's POV

I drop my glass and it smashes to the floor. Looking out of the window I gape at what I see. I was in the kitchen getting a drink when I heard a large 'boom' sound. It was an explosion. Screams and shouts erupted almost immediately; furniture and people going everywhere. My hands tremble as I look out of the window. The gas bottles connected to the BBQ had gone up in flames; setting fire to the wooden tables set out with food underneath the kitchen window.
"Oh my god," I gasp, hands flying to my mouth. I watch in horror as everyone begins running and panicking. Fear strikes me and I go to head out of the door but the sound of a loud crack goes off and the fire takes over the window frame. Screaming in fright, I try to contain myself as my whole body begins to shake. Petrified, I frantically spin and search the kitchen. Rushing over to the kitchen door, I yank hard on the handle. It was locked.
To stop the baby's from crawling into the house.
Tears begin to fall from my eyes as panic overruns my body.
What was I meant to do?
The sound of muffled crying tears me away from my thoughts. Looking down at the floor to my left, I see a small body huddled underneath the kitchen table.
"Calla?" I call over the increasing sound of the fire. Bending down, I scoop her up from underneath the table and cradle her to my chest. She was crying hysterically.
"It's okay, It's okay... Shh..." I pat her back, spinning around searching the kitchen. I rush over to the main kitchen and pull open the cupboard doors in a panic. I open up the largest I can find; in the corner. It was a double cupboard with barely enough room for one person to huddle inside.
"C'mon, Cee. It's okay, it's okay." I cuddle her closer to me as I crouch inside and pull the doors closed; trying my best to stop the thoughts turning to the worst.

Harry's POV

"Susie's in there too!" I shout over the roaring sound at Niall as we head to the side of the house. Niall stands and looks up at the bathroom window, sweat beginning to trickle down his forehead. Me and Liam both help him hoist himself up and he smashes the window with his fist; the pieces shattering and falling to the floor. With blood pouring from his hand he pulls the larger window pieces away and they crash to the grass beside me and Liam.
"Don't do anything stupid!" Liam warns as he crawls through the window; landing with a thud on the bathroom floor.
