Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

58. Shouts

Harry's POV

"Are you staying here tonight?" I ask Susie, opening the door to my hotel room. She looks around as Perrie waves goodbye before heading into the other room with Zayn. She waves back then turns to me with a smile.
"All the other girls are... but I can get a taxi back if you don't want me to stay." She looks down at the floor, fiddling with her fingers; letting her smile drop.
"Hey," I say sternly, placing my forefinger under her chin and lifting it up so that her eyes meet mine.
"I don't want you to go anywhere." I whisper, bouncing a kiss from her lips. She pulls back and smiles shyly, tucking her hair behind her hair. I open the door further and entangle our fingers; pulling her through and switching on the lights.
"I'm just going to go shower," I tell Susie, leaving her sitting on the end of the bed. Slipping into the bathroom, I undress and climb under the hot water. Once finished, I slip back into my shorts; leaving my torso bare. Entering the room again, I find it empty. Frowning and running my hands through my dripping wet hair, I trail back into the living room.
"Susie?" I call out, also finding it empty. No answer. Panic rises through me as I realise she's not in the room. I'm about to take my phone out to ring her when I spot the doors to the balcony wide open; a cool breeze drifting gently through.
"Susie?" I repeat, softer this time. She was huddled on the balcony, legs dangling down underneath the railings. The sun was resting on the horizon; the busy city of LA spread out for miles. It was cooler out here, the light evening breeze kissing my skin.
"Hey," She smiles as I sit down beside her; my long legs dangling too.
"Why are you out here?" I ask her, looking out at the city in awe. She shrugs before answering.
"Nothing," She replies softly, eyes slanted.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I say, studying her face. The sun streaking it orange and gold.

"Just stuff," she sighs.

"What stuff?" I counter, linking our fingers together.

"Stuff. Life. Friends. Us. Me. You. Girls. Boys. Stuff." She shrugs.
"Please tell me," I beg, whispering.
"You don't want to know," She states simply, not looking at me.
"I do. Of course I do."
"Just... Stuff. I... Seeing Crystal this big and nearly due to give birth it... It's weird. Like... A few months ago she was this shy, timid young girl who was seriously anorexic and uncomfortable with her appearance. She had never experienced love properly since her mum and she's had so much to deal with and seeing her this happy it's just... Amazing. And Perrie and Zayn. They've had their ups and downs, but they're stronger than ever. The same with Dani, Liam, El and Lou. And my family... It's still so strange seeing my name on all the front pages and tv shows. It's mental, Harry. I never expected to be anyone other than a girl having a husband, maybe a few kids and a full time job doing something I loved. Not here, with you. And all of these amazing people, I just... I was sitting here thinking about it and its mental. It really is," she shakes her head, long hair swaying slightly.
"Sometimes I don't believe it either. It gets to me. About how much I miss being normal... Being at home. Being with my family. But then I remember the boys, the girls... You. Being able to visit amazing places like this, the music, the concerts and the fans." I smile at the thought impishly, running my thumb gently along her knuckles.
"I love you," she whispers, leaning her head on my shoulder.
"I love you too," I whisper back, an idea coming into my head. Slowly, I stand up and drag her with me, resting my arms on the railings and looking at her with a cheeky grin.
"What are you doing Ha-" I cut her off by taking a deep breath and shouting at the top of my lungs;
"I love Susie!"
"Harry!" She hisses, holding back a laugh and slapping me on the arm lightly.
"What?" I ask innocently, raising an eyebrow.

"You can't just shout like that! There are people around," She giggles slightly; the sound warming me.
"So what. You're turn." I say. Her blue eyes round out slightly and she shakes her head.
"I am not shouting," She declines, looking out at the city with a grin.
"Go on," I pressure.
"No." Is her reply. I chuckle and place my hands underneath my armpits; making them flap like wings. I walk around the balcony making ridiculous chicken noises at her and pecking every so often.
"Harry, stop!" She says between laughs.
"Not until you shout it," I raise an eyebrow. She draws in a sharp breath and shakes her head, turning to face the city again.
"I love Harry!" She shouts, feebly.
"Aw, come on! Mine was a thousand times louder!" I complain, chuckling deeply. She rolls her eyes before doing it again; her voice echoing off the walls of the buildings.
"I love you too," I whisper in her ear, kissing her cheek as we watch the sun slip behind the horizon.
