Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

**Perrie's POV**

The driver pulls up infront of the house and I pay him, saying thank you before stepping out. I take a deep breath, run my fingers through my hair and walk up to the front door. I ring the bell and a few moments later, Zayn answers the door.

"Perrie!" He grins and I throw my arms around him, planting a kiss on his lips.

"Hey!" I say, smiling and taking his hand.

"Where is she?" I ask, voice low. He squeezes my hand and nods at the kitchen. I nod and he leads me in. Louis, Harry and Niall all smile at me and say hello as I walk in. I embrace all of them before turning my eyes to a small girl sitting on one of the barstools.

She was... thin.

She hid it well though; the baggy jumper she had on hid her body but you could see her skinny legs through her leggings. She was extremely pretty though. With lovely blonde hair and deep green eyes, she was definitely a beautiful girl. I smile warmly at her and she looks down, smiling shyly.

"Perrie, this is Crystal. Crystal, this is my girlfriend, Perrie." Zayn introduces us and she stands from the barstool. I smile once again at her before wrapping my arms around her in a gentle embrace. Her frail body was so small and looked breakable. I pull away and she meets my eyes, smiling wider now.

"It's nice to meet you," I say.

"I've heard so much about you."  I add and I place my handbag down on the breakfast bar. I look at her and she appears pained at this prospect. Niall comes over to her, placing a hand on her back. She immediately seems to relax at his touch and I see what Zayn meant when he said he knew he liked her.

"Ready to go?" I ask and she nods, looking back at Niall for approval.

"I erm..." Crystal's cheeks redden and she looks at her hands.

"I have no money." She murmurs, ashamed.

"Here," Niall replies, fishing in the pocket of his jeans. He pulls out his wallet and hands her a credit card. She frowns at the card before running her fingers over it, clearly fascinated.

"What's this?" She asks, eyebrows creased as she studies it.

"A credit card," Niall chuckles.

"What does it do?" Crystal asks.

"It's basically a card full of money." Harry tells her, smiling at her wonder.

"Oh," I watch as a frown appears on her face.

"I can't use this, Niall." She hands it back to him but he steps away, refusing.

"Of course you can," He smiles but she shakes her head at him.

"Crystal I'd take it if I were you, Niall doesn't do that often." I wink and smile at her, causing her to chuckle. She thanks Niall and he looks as though he wants to hug her but he refrains.

"Ready?" I ask and she walks towards me. Zayn hands me my bag and I kiss him before we head out of the door.

"Where's the shopping center?" She asks shyly, voice quiet.

"It's about a five minute walk," I reply, pulling my sunglasses over my eyes and burying my face deeper into my scarf. She looks at me strangely, but doesn't ask any questions. I ask her about herself as we walk towards the centre but she doesn't really go into detail. I think about asking her how she was doing with the anorexia, but I didn't want to upset her. She looked as though she would crack at any moment. We round the corner and the large shopping centre comes into view.

"Woah," She breaths, looking up as we step through the glass doors. I chuckle, she was amazed at  all of the shops and people around. I lead her into a New Look and we sort through the clothes. I watch as she looks through the racks of jumpers and hoodies, pulling out a black jumper. It was ten sizes to large for her.

"Crystal, what size is that?" I ask and she bites her lip, checking the label.

"16." She tells me and I gasp.

"Crystal! You're like a six! Why are you looking at such big sizes?" I ask sadly. She frowns and stares at me like I'm crazy; her green eyes wide.

"I'm fat." She states. I don't know how to respond to that. I check to see if she's joking. If she's messing around. But she truly believes that she's fat. I can see it on her face. She puts the jumper back on the rack and sits down on the black leather sofa near the shoe section. I sit down beside her.

"Do you know what?"  I ask.

"Hmm?" She murmurs, looking at the floor.

"If you let me choose an outfit for you I'll buy the most hiddeous thing in here and wear it back to the house. I'll walk in and ask Zayn if he likes my new outfit and make him really uncomfortable." She chuckles softly at the prospect.

"Deal?" I ask, offering her my hand.

"Deal," She says, smiling and we shake hands.

"Come on," I take her hand and drag her towards the dress section. I make her wait in a changing room whilst I look through the racks of clothes. I finally find the perfect dress and hand it to her, watching as she wrinkles her nose in disgust.

"We shook on it," I remind her and she sighs before drawing the curtains. I sit down outside and wait for her. After a few minutes, she's still not come out so I peek through a gap at the side of the curtain.

I gasp.

Painful cuts and bruises mark her thin body, tracing all the way from her neck down to her thighs. Purple bruises spot her skin and a particularly large one takes up her side. I look at her arms and wrists as she slips on the dress.

So many of them.

Oh my god.

I sit up again, drawing my eyes away. Tears threaten my eyes and a deep pity forms inside me. This poor girl, she really did look broken. When Zayn had explained about how she was terrified of people touching her, I hadn't really thought of why. No wonder she was terrified. How could people ever have relationships with anyone ever again if someone who was meant to love and protect her did that?

"Perrie?" She calls softly, dragging me from my thoughts.

"Got it on?" I ask, looking at her as she pokes her head around the curtain; her body concealed. She nods slowly, biting her lip before drawing back the curtain.
