25. Letting go

Susie's POV

All of the girls were on the boy's backs and already racing down the platform. Harry hangs back, looking at me with an eyebrow cocked. He bends down slightly infront of me; stretching his arms out behind him.

"Care to get on, darling?" Harry asks, his accent making my stomach ping.

"Erm..." I stutter, biting my lip uncomfortably.

"Aw, come on." He looks at me over his shoulder with huge puppy dog eyes. I roll my own and chuckle slightly; hopping on to his back. He places his hands on my thighs and I lean my head into his shoulder as he takes off at a sprint. We catch up with the rest and Crystal winks at me. I try not to blush and shake my head at her. Everyone eventually slows down, the boys catching their breaths. All the girls get down but Harry insists that I stay on his back. I don't object; why would I? The girl who I think was called Danielle, came up beside Harry and offered me a big smile. She was extremely pretty; as were the others. With curly dark brown hair that framed her heart-shaped face, you could see why Liam looked so chuffed when he was with her.

"I'm Danielle," She smiles and I smile back.

"Susie," I reply and she nods.

"Are you two...?" She points between me and Harry and I feel him chuckle.

"Oh, no... I've only just.... I..." I can't even get the words out I'm so embarrassed. Liam comes up beside Danielle and he winks at Harry.

"But we all know he likes her," He says and Harry glares at him. Danielle holds back a laugh, giving me a reassuring smile. I try to stop the colour rising to my cheeks but I don't think it worked very well.

Damn.

Crystals POV

"Is that it?" Perrie asks, pointing to a large faded sign outside of a wide path.

"Yep," Niall nods, taking my hand in his. We all walk towards it, me and Niall at the front.

"Oh my god," Danielle gasps suddenly with a clap of her hands. We all stop at the entrance to the park and look at her. Up ahead you could see various different paths that all dissapeared into thick forests. The sun was actually shinning for once and was streaming down through the gaps within the leaves of the trees. My mother used to call those Angel's tears.

"We should plat Manhunt!" She squeals and I frown.

"What's Manhunt?" Zayn asks my question for me.

"Right, so... one couple is on and the rest go and hide. That couple has to count to one minute then they have to try and find the others. If you get caught you have to come back to the entrance and wait..." She looks around the wide path.

"On that bench there," She points to a wooden picnic bench that sat in a grassy field with a few kids playing on the swing sets. Their parents sat around lazily in the sun; chatting and eating.

"Got it," Zayn says with a mischievous grin.

"We'll be on first." Perrie suggests and Zayn nods. The two of them head over to the bench and close their eyes. Immediately, Niall grabs my hand and drags me into the trees.

Harry's POV

Me and Susie had been hiding for about half an hour now. We hadn't seen anyone else in that time. When everyone separated into their pairs, she was a little taken aback by the use of the word 'Couple'. I took her hand anyway and we dashed off down one of the many paths. It had lead us to a clearing where there was tall flowers of some sort with violet petals. We both layed down on the floor, hiding beneath the flowers. At first we had layed in silence, thinking Perrie and Zayn would hear us if we talked but they were no where to be seen.

"I wonder what these are," Susie says absentmindely. I watch as her slick fingers pluck a flower from the stem and she twiddles it in her hands. Her eyes were more blue in this bright light and her smile was more wide. I don't say anything; just lay there and watch her play with the flower in wonder.

"Sorry?" I ask, releasing she said something. She giggles slightly, turning her head to face me and her hair falls over her face slightly. I long to brush it away so I can see her eyes properly.

"I said do you think they have found the others?" Susie repeats, her blue eyes meeting mine. I sit up and peek over the top of the flowers.

"I can't see anyone..." I say and she sits up too. Her shoulder bumps into mine and sparks zap against my skin.

"Maybe we should go back." She suggests but I shake my head.

"I'd rather stay here with you," I tell her and she blushes.

"What? You don't like compliments?" I chuckle and sit cross legged on the floor.

"Of course I do, I just never know how to respond to them." She replies, sitting down opposite me and stroking her hair behind her ear.

"What do you like doing?" I ask, out of the blue. I was desperate to know more about her... she was different somehow.

"I erm..." She looks down at the flower in her hands.

"I love musical theater," She smiles at the thought.

"And swimming too." Susie adds, twirling the flower around in her fingers.

"What do you like about swimming?" I prod.

"I..." She thinks for a moment, a small crease that's barely noticeable appears inbetween her dark eyebrows.

"I guess I like the way it makes me feel. The way I can forget myself when I'm under water. Like all of my problems, mistakes and troubles can't reach me when I'm there with all the sea-life." She shakes her head at herself afterwards.

"I'm sorry, you probably didn't want to know that." Her cheeks stain red with embarrassment.

"Of course I did," I reply, meeting her eyes.

"That's how music makes me feel." I tell her and that small line appears again.

"Feel like what?" She asks. I look up at the blue sky and bite my lip.

"Like nothing can hurt me. Like I can be free and really express myself when I sing. I'm not very good with words but when I sing it's like... it's like..." I frown, lost for words.

"Letting go?" She suggest. I nod with a smile.

"Yeah,"
