Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

Crystal's POV

"What have I done Mum?" I whisper, running my hand over the cold grey concrete. I trace my fingers into the etched inscription of her name, birth and death date. It seemed like... such a small amount of time. Such a small space for her to have such a great impact. Tears roll gently down my cheeks and I brush my hair from my face as the cold wind flutters the trees above me.

"Why can't it all go back?" I whisper, laying my head against the head-stone. My cheeks stiffen with the contact and I wrap my arms around the cold stone; clinging it closer to my body. The stiffness of the concrete only reminds me that I can't hold her any more. That she's nothing more than disintegrated bones beneath the earth and memories in my head that I cling hopelessly to.

'You have to shine - even if you're broken inside, letting everyone see the crystal you are on the outside'
