Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

61. Hospital

Crystal's POV

Looking at myself in the bathroom mirror, I tuck a piece of my long hair behind my ear. I smile.
I hadn't smiled infront of the mirror for what seemed like years. I go to pick up a bobby pin from the side of the sink but it falls to the floor; clinking lightly as it makes contact with the tiled floor. As I bend down to pick it up; an excruciating pain soars through me and I groan in pain. Crumpling to the floor, I clutch my hands to my stomach that now felt like it was being torn apart.
"Crystal?" A knock sounds on the door and Perrie's voice comes through. I try to respond but the pooling puddle of liquid around me causes me to lurch in pain instead.
"Crystal?" She repeats, trying to turn the handle. I'd locked it. Of course I'd locked it. The one time I needed someone and I'd locked the door. I try to call out to her but my throat seizes up as another wave of pain sizzles through me. I crouch on the floor for several moments before finally crawling on my hands and knees towards the door. I grapple up with weak arms; seizing the handle. I turn the lock slowly and let myself fall to the floor with exhaustion again as the door flies open.
"Crystal!" Perrie gasps, shock. I groan in response, curling into a ball on the floor.
"Baby... Coming..." I manage to splutter through the pain.
"Oh my god, oh my god!" Perrie exclaims, looking frantically around the bathroom. Her eyes round out at the puddle on the floor beside the sink.
"El!" She screams down the hallway.
"What?" El asks a few moments later, bewildered. She appears in the doorway, letting the apple she had been eating drop to the floor when she sees me.
"Oh my god, Crystal are you okay?" She asks, squatting down and wiping my hair from my face.
"Hospital." I murmur and she nods.
"We need to get her to the hospital now," El tells Perrie desperately; who looks panic stricken.
"I'll go ring the boys," Perrie stutters, running off.
"Crystal are you okay?" Susie asks, concern filling her tone. She gasps too when she comes into the bathroom.
"Have your waters broken?" She asks me and El nods as I grip my stomach tighter.
"Niall," I splutter.
"We need to get you to the hospital, Crystal. Okay? Niall will be there as soon as possible, I promise." El says, going to help me up. She takes my left arm and Susie takes my right; both of them slowly managing to get me to stand up.
"Harry's bringing the car around to the apartment now with Zayn and Louis." Perrie says as we make it into the living room.
"Where's Niall and Liam gone?" Susie asks as Perrie opens the door to the apartment as we approach.
"Harry said they were getting lunch," Perrie replies, rubbing my back as we make it into the lift. The lift seems to take years for it to reach the bottom, when it finally does a shocked looking Zayn rushes up.
"Crystal! Are you okay?" He asks, eyes scanning my body.
"We need to get her to the car, quick." El tells him and he frowns.
"Crystal, I'm going to pick you up. Is that okay?" He asks, meeting my eyes. I nod and groan as he gently picks me up and carries me bridle style. I grip tightly to his shirt as more waves of pain sift through my burning muscles. He lays me down in the back of the car; taking his jacket off and lying it over me. Perrie climbs in beside me; laying my head on her lap. Susie and El sit behind us with Louis and Zayn clambers into the front seat beside Harry.
"Everyone okay?" Harry asks, turning round in his seat to look.
"Just drive!" Perrie orders. He snaps his head back to face the front and puts his foot down on the pedal; the car lurching on to the road.
