Broken Crystals

When Crystal collapses in the middle of the road after another beating, headlights are the last thing she sees. She wakes up in a strange house, surrounded by five strange boys. She refuses to relax around them or be herself. But can the one Irish boy with the beautiful blue eyes show her what it means to be loved and fix her cracks?

37. Candles

Crystal's POV

"I can't, Perrie." I say, shaking my head with nerves.

"Of course you can!" She urges, leading me across the room towards the door.

"You did it before, remember?" She reminds me and I round my eyes out.
"Yeah, that night ended well didn't it." I say and she chuckles with a shake of her head.
"Anyway," She opens the bedroom door, I can hear them all across the hall in the living room.
"Perrie." I hiss as she closes the door and takes my arm again. She leads me in to the living room and I spot Niall on his feet, shouting abuse at the tv, his back to me and Perrie. There was a rugby match on and all of the boys were watching. The girls give me encouraging smiles and Susie prods Harry. He looks up and takes me in with a grin. The rest of the girls do the same before it's only Niall that hasn't seen me.
"Go on!" He roars at the screen.
"Niall!" Zayn kicks him slightly in the side from where he sits lazily on the sofa.
"Shut up," Niall waves him away, eyes still glued to the screen. Zayn looks at me with a shrug and I smile slightly. Perrie gives my hand a squeeze before heading over to Zayn where she watches me with an encouraging smile.
"Niall," I say softly, walking over to stand behind him. He registers my voice and slowly turns around with a smile.
"Crys-" He starts but his voice slowly dies off.
"Is that you?" He jokes after a few moments of silence. I nod slowly, chewing on my lower lip.
"I love it," he murmurs before stroking a piece of my hair behind my ear.

Niall's POV

I couldn't get over how different she looked. She looked... happier. Confident. Content. Perfect. I still hadn't found the right way to tell her this; to make her believe it. I roam my eyes up and down her body and take her in. She was wearing a peach coloured skater skirt that gave me a view of her slender legs, a grey vest top and a large white knitted cardigan. A long necklace of a gold key hung from her neck and her hair was in it's natural waves. It had been dyed a light pastel purple and it really suited her. Her eyes appeared brighter and more radiant.

"You do?" She asks with a small voice. She frowns slightly; that small line appearing inbetween her eyebrows.

"Of course I do, Angel." I whisper, taking her hands.

"Break it up, love birds." Louis groans, diving in between us.  Crystal chuckles and Eleanor comes to stand beside her.

"I think we should have a date night," She suggests, beaming at everyone around the room.

Susie's POV

"Where are we?" I say, giggling to myself as Harry slowly lifts his hands away from my eyes.

"Surprise," He says, entwining his fingers with mine.

"You did this?" I ask him as he leads me over. We were in the middle of a park that was fairly empty apart from a few couples milling about in the lazy afternoon sun. A blanket was set out on the ground; food, candles and drink set out all around it.

"Yep," He smiles, blushing slightly as we sit down. I grin at him as we settle down on the blanket.

"You didn't have to." I tell him but he shakes his head.

"Of course I did." He says, eyes blazing.

Harrys POV

We lay down beside eachother on the now empty blanket, looking up at the sky. It was streaked with orange, red and pink as the sun slid behind the horizon in the distance.

"Tell me about yourself," I say, voice soft. I turn my head to face her. Her long eyelashes spread out evenly, her plump lips a dark pink and her blue eyes meeting mine.

"What do you want to know?" She asks, lifting an eyebrow.

I listen to her till we're surrounded by darkness. Until the small candles that I had lit are the only thing illuminating her face. They spread shadows across her face; her features shifting slightly in the orange glow. Her now blue eyes dance in the low light as she meets mine and a playful grin spreads across her full lips.

"Come on," I say and stand up. Offering Susie my hand, she takes it and I pull her up. I pull too hard and she stumbles on to me. I place my hands on her shoulders and steady her.

"Alright?" I ask with a chuckle and she nods slightly, looking up at me.

"Harry," She whispers but I smash my lips to hers for the first time; silencing her.
