One Way or Another

Jenkins Ocean is nothing but a trouble maker after her parent's death. She's at an orphanage since she's not 18 yet. Her dad's all-time best friend since high school -Simon- decides that he's interfering.

Taken in by Simon Cowell, she meets what seemed at first the pain in the ass called One Direction. They all seemed nice to her, everyone but bad boy Zayn, though Zayn's not really fond of her either.

29. Surprises and embarassing relief

After the awkward conversation, Uncle Simon and I hadn't talked about the boys. We were leaving the cruise today and were spending three days in Barcelona.

These days had been fun. We had been talking and bonding. He told me about The X Factor and his relationship with the boys. It was weird, but they were just bondable.

So, we were finishing having breakfast talking about the places we wanted to visit in Barcelona. We went to our rooms to finish packing and brush our teeth.

Some time later, we were walking down the port. Uncle Simon's phone began to ring and he walked away to answer his phone. I walked near the edge of the port, taking pictures, when my phone began to ring. The screen said 'Louis', so I answered. "Hello, little sis."

I smiled when I heard his voice, because I had really missed them, I just had made myself stop thinking about them. "Hey, Lou. What's up?"

"Just wanted to know if you had safely arrived to Spain."

"Yeah, I did." I heard some noises next to Louis.

"I'll put you in speaker." Niall said, making me laugh. His Irish accent was noted from miles away. "There you go."

"Hi, guys." I said with the biggest smile ever put on my face.

"Jen! I miss you!" Liam said.

"I miss you too, Liam! I miss you all a lot."

"Hey, weather's good, right?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, I guess." I answered.

"All I want is to go to the beach and-"

"There's no beach in Venice, Styles." I said.

"Who said we were in Venice?" I heard him say behind me and through the phone.

I turned around and hugged them all. It was a pretty long hug, but I didn't care because I had missed them a lot even though it had only been five days.

We heard Uncle Simon laugh and the boys went to hug him too. They let go and we began walking away from the port with out bags. The boys carried my bags, so I was just carrying my purse.

As we walked, Uncle Simon, Liam, Niall, Harry, Louis and Paul -who had just joined us- began walking faster. I groaned as they were farther away each step, but Fruit loop stayed.

"Guess it's you and me again." He said.

I nodded. "Guess it is. But what are you doing here?"

"We wanted to surprise you. Because we missed you."

"I missed you all too."

"Even me?" He asked.

"Even you." I said as I nodded.

"I really am sorry, you know?"

"Yes, I know. I'm sorry too. I probably should've said something."

"No, it was not your fault. I know you hate people feeling pity towards you."

I didn't answer, because I was speechless. I didn't know how to answer. I didn't know what to tell him. "Thank you, I guess." I hadn't noticed, but all the others were gone. "On our own again." I said.

She noticed we were alone, so I had to tell her. "Listen, Cupcake, The reason why we’re not in Venice anymore, is not just because the lads and I missed you, but because I realized that they are right.”

“Right about what?” She asked, looking at me, puzzled.

“Maybe we are perfect for each other.” I said, looking down, embarrassed of what she might think.

“How can you know?” She asked.

I looked up at her. “I just feel it. So I was wondering if you’d agree to try whatever weird date they are planning for us.” I asked with fear to rejection, but relief took over me when she said yes.
